Nookcolor reboot loop - Nook Color General

have a problem here.
My nookcolor all of a sudden just started a reboot process. does the boot screens and animations but never loads up. I last had the latest nooter before 3.0 and 1.01 on it. Just a few min ago I plugged the nook in and it said installing software. That completed but it still just loops on me. I try doing the 8 resets but it keeps going through the boot screen.
Any ideas?
TIA
I mess with the nook doing power off and on and eventually the screen flashes yellow quickly and goes to installing... A new software update is being installed this will take a few minutes.
It completes but then just keeps the boot animation loop on me.
Please help!
out of desperation I tried doing the auto nooter 3 on it.
I dont know if 1.1 is on it. But I assume because it said installing update earlier.
Anyawy it finished and I get hte new splash boot up scrteen. (the robot being traced in green with android below and then a bright light shining but that just plays over and over.
Guys I'm lost please help.

I would say go "back" to stock 1.1 and root again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945838

A data erase before you do the 8 restarts should break the boot loop. Since you can't get to the Unregister and Erase screen in settings, use this alternate procedure.
Shut down the Nook Color completely.
Start up again by holding in the On button and the Nook home button (the "n" button) simultaneously. You must continuously hold in the On button and the Nook home button until the "Touch to the Future of Reading" screen has been visible for a count of 5 seconds, then release both buttons. In a few seconds the screen will flash yellow and you will be presented with the options to erase or cancel. Choose erase by hitting the home button again. You will then be asked to confirm by hitting the home button one more time.
The Nook Color will then erase its data.
After the erase, do your 8 restarts and you should be back to the factory settings and out of your reboot loop. Restart and register, Re-Root and you should be OK

G1 automatically reboots over and over

I'm new to this, I recently decided to download 2 apps at the same time and then before I knew it, my phone just reboot itself. I thought that was normal and then it told me to finger swipe the password. After a few trials, I got it right. Once logged in, the only thing that was visible was the menu bar on top saying that it's still downloading my apps.
I can't access the main menu settings or anything else. The rest of the screen is just black.
What I've tried:
- rebooting (trying to override the automatic rebooting)
- plugging in and letting it fully load whatever its loading
- taking the battery out for at least a minute and putting it back in
- and the poor attempt to reset it back to factory settings starting with holding down the home and power button for at least 25 secs (the triangle didn't show up)
Any advice??
push the power button, release and quickly hold the back button...what do you see?

[Q] Nook Color Reflashing - Taking too long?

Hey guys,
I decided to reflash my nook by holding the power button down 8 times. It loaded the software update and proceeded to the white barnes and noble screen but since then seems to be stuck, the boot animation keeps replaying. Every now and then the screen turns black and it goes back to the white b&n loading screen. It's been this way for about 4 hours so far. Is this normal? I've never reflashed before so I'm not sure how long it's supposed to take. Does anyone know the time it takes to re-image the system partition?

help!! how to revert rooted nook color back to factory state?

hey guys, hopefully someone can help me.
I've successfully rooted my nook color, but I want to revert back to the factory state. There are instructions in nookdevs.com/Flash_back_to_clean_stock_ROM on how to do it. But I can't for the life of me, interrupt the boot eight times. At most it's only once and no matter what I do, on the second time around it shows the boot screen.
I tap the the power button, once I see the "future of reading" words, I hold on the power button and it blinks and show me the words again. Which is good right? Then I release and hold the pwr button again ( I tried keeping my finger holding it), both ways on the 2nd time it would show the splash screen.
What am I doing wrong? thanks!

I'm a little confused by what you're describing, but you don't have to interrupt the first splash screen (touch the future...). Interrupting the "n" screen, and, I believe, the following boot animation will also do the trick. Unless you're bootlooping, just keep powering down before it boots all the way up, and it should restore.
or use this script here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879922
Thanks for the replies guys! The reason I go with the script is cause I lost my microSD card and I can't boot off of it to run adb so I'm stuck using the manual method.
Maybe I'm mis-interpreting the instructions on nookdevs.com/Flash_back_to_clean_stock_ROM incorrectly ...
1. Power off the nook.
2. Tap the power button.
3. As soon as Welcome to the future of reading appears, hold the power button down to interrupt the boot process.
-If the boot animation does not appear, add 1 to your interrupted boot count.
-If the boot animation DOES appear, your interrupted boot count is reset to zero. Start over.
Steps 1 and 2 I gots, thankfully For step 3, when do I press and hold the power button, when the words come up or when the "n" shows up? And when do I release and hold the power button again for the 2nd boot count?
thanks again!
I think you're making it more complicated than it needs to be. As soon as you see it powering on, start powering it off. Repeat 8x. Unless you're bootlooping or did something crazy to your boot partition, it oughta work.
Thanks wvcachi. But it is complicated!!
I'm having problems power it off, one the second time around, when I press and hold the power button, nothing happens and it boots all the way. I've tried different times hitting the power button, earlier, and all the time it boots through all the way.
maybe you can try and see if you can do it 3-4 times, and let me know when you start pressing the button and release for each iteration? I know it sounds stupid but seriously I can't get it
You have to hold the power button for nearly ten seconds. As soon as you see it powering on, start holding power again (to power it off) and don't let go until it's off.

Agreed...
1. Power off the nook.
2. Tap the power button.
3. As soon as Welcome to the future of reading appears, hold the power button down to interrupt the boot process.
Repeat...
I don't understand though... If you are looping it should reset itself. If it will boot use adb and just set the counter to reset or terminal on the device and type...
Code:
echo -n -e "\x08\x00\x00\x00" > /rom/devconf/BootCnt
1. HOLD POWER UNTIL IT COMES ON
2. LET OFF POWER BUTTON 3 SECONDS
3. HOLD POWER BUTTON UNTIL OFF
4.REPEAT 8 TIMES!
simple enough, for most humans.
I just press the power button and keep holding it down while it starts booting. Works for me.

An even faster way is the 3 fingers of salute.
Hold down power button, fractions after hold down volume up and fractions after the n button. Keep those 3 down until you see the reset screen. Worked for me.

When you do it that way it only clears /data but the root program is still on /system

Am I able to revert to factory after installing the CM7 ROM using the 8 interrupt method? I don't care what I'd lose, not concerned with backing anything up...
Search for nook color restore to stock in dev.

I tried it over and over for about half an hour and couldn't get it to shut down after the third boot. It seemed to ignore the power button after the first or second time I rebooted. I tried many different variations on timing, but nothing worked. People are saying to wait for the N, instead of "the future of reading," which I didn't try.

Boot loop on initial flash screen

On rooted ZV6. I was using the phone as usual. I went to open an app (Weather Channel, though I don't believe that matters) and the phone froze. It did the self-restart, however it sits at the very first LG flash screen, turns off for a second, then starts again. Continual boot loop.
I've popped the battery, tried a different battery, tried with the SD in and out, all with the same results. I tried holding down volume down and power, it gives me the booting into recovery screen, then goes back into the boot loop.
I've seen the talk about the ZV9 OTA, but there was no sign of an update in progress when the system crapped out initially.
If I'm reading the code under the back cover right, the phone was made back in May, which makes me worry that it's the known faulty hardware issue. Does anyone have any ideas I can try before going through the hell of riding Sprint for a replacement? I would be forever in your debt for something to save my phone. Thanks in advance for any advice.
EDIT: After screwing around with holding down volume buttons at random times, it will sometimes get to the Sprint Spark animation, but no boot sound, then as I was typing this edit, it magically booted proper, and powered down, and is boot looping again. What the hell.

XT1096 no longer boots

I accidently removed my OS, and now I cannot boot into my bootloader.
I've tried charging the phone with it's OEM charger, and it stays stuck on the white battery charging screen until it dies again. I've tried doing it via my PC, and it charges, but I cannot do anything but boot onto the Motorola "Powered by Android" where it freezes, until I hold power and volume down, where it black screens, and restarts again. This happened after clearing my data and failing to flash an OS. After rebooting my phone, this happened. My bootloader is unlocked, but the phone isn't rooted. I've got a ROM that works, but adb is useless as my phone doesn't show up.
If you have twrp recovery Press & hold Power key& volumes up/down hold them all together.. Keep holding pressing about 10 sec or until you see little dim red light it's going to be left side upper speaker...once you see it don't let go of buttons for 8 seconds OK this is critical let go of the buttons & hold them again about 5 seconds,
TWRP recovery should show up.. If not repeat steps again. TWRP will show up.
