Hi I'm not sure is there a program out that can do this or not, but I kind of dislike Zune. The organization for it sucks, and I was hoping is there a way I can use Itunes to upload music into my phone instead. I have a Windows PC not a mac.
no, their maybe a chance Songbird might add support, but I suspect that Microsoft have employed MTPZ again which is why there is no drag and drop for music into Zune.
But as you can see the software can see what the phone is capable of using.

ITunes is bloatware tbh. Probably the most intrusive memory hogging media player there is.

Could you expand exactly what and why you think the organization sucks in the Zune software and what iTunes does that can't be done in Zune?
Maybe we can help.

I'm so glad you said that, I felt mean just thinking of asking why you'd want to use itunes.
lol
i think zune is way better than itunes i didn't have to tell zune anything it organized my music and put the art i didn't already have all i did was install it
I would want to use something else as I dont listen to music. I listen to old time radio shows and cddb does not fill in old time radio show id3's. So i have folders upon folders of untaged or unproperly tagged shows. I have a show that has about 1800+ eps and i'm not about to retage every one of those.

Well the title pretty much describes the whole affair. Google's launched a new app called simply Listen. It's a Google Labs product (like Places Directory, Maps Editor, Finance, Sky Map, etc) but also quite well polished and definitely functional. For those who like to listen to podcasts, this app searches, manages, and streams them quite nicely. Grab it from the Android Market. Edit: zip containing apk uploaded for those without Market access.

Bump up!
Surely I can't be the only person interested in a mp3 podcast streamer by Google...
Lol cool. Be sure to check this out. How does it compare with other similar apps?
I got all excited at first, but then I've realized that this app sucks.
First of all, it wouldn't find half of the English podcasts that I listen to, not to mention podcasts in other languages. And then it does not provide a way to add RSS manually.
I'm sticking to DoggCatcher and never looking into Listen again...
Seeing the same thing, it'd be great if you could add feeds manually, and I don't see why they don't have that capability.
Very nice, but wheres video podcasting =)
I dont think you can download them either.. or schedule downloads. I love BeyondPod for these reasons.

Listen automatically downloads mp3s from subscribed feeds. See below screens. Also, while yes it does not support manual url entry, i've had no problem adding all the programs scheduled on KQED (minus All Things Considered)
This is an article I've been meaning to write for a little while now, since audio on the Ubuntu part of the Atrix is a bit tricky.
The basic idea is this: when in lapdock mode, it would be nice to have a music player that's designed for that form factor. As such, a decent starting point is the default GNOME music management program for Ubuntu 9.04: Rhythmbox.

However, after installing Rhythmbox, three plugin errors pop up. Two of them don't matter much to me (the jamendo and the Magnatune Store ones) and can be disabled, but cover art should work. A bit of Google footwork reveals that installing python-gst0.10 fixes that (and the stores too).
Unfortunately, an attempt to then play a FLAC causes... playback with no sound. Based on a previous post, pulseaudio appears to serve as the audio backbone. Rhythmbox, on the other hand, uses GStreamer, so that connection might not be working properly.
Another Google search ends up bringing up a wiki page that suggests that gnome-media needs to be installed so that we can run gstreamer-properties.
But, the pulseaudio plugin supposedly isn't installed. So, gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio needs to be installed as well.
And, then, finally! It's possible to play music via Rhythmbox! This should also allow any other GStreamer-based programs to output sound as well.
P.S. Yes, I like the occasionally bad joke, as the title implies.
who listens to flac media files anyways
awesome, thanks!
and as you suspected it does fix sound in other apps, like pidgin.
hope you don't mind i added it to my list.
No such thing as a free lunch, especially for pirates? Google Music.
So you upload non-drm music, legal (cd ripped) and the other music that may be available for free, I wouldn't know. What then? Will Google Maps bring Metallica with a bunch of baseball bats to your door?

Link leads to a story about Apple.
Error 404, Correlation not found.
Saying that, is the music bought from Google Music DRM protected?

Apple's service is similar to Google's especially in the access of your music files.
I am saying that this service could be used for further identifying pirates especially as Google grows larger and probably ends up owning the rights to much of this music. The first box you get when you download asks you to agree that all of your music was legally obtained. Is this likely, no but quite possible.

anybody have an opinion on this?
Hi,
I developed a brand new app called "Zero to Hero".
The app let's you explore your yet unplayed music, those of your songs that you haven't yet ever played on your phone.
The key point: It's developed entirely using TouchDevelop, Microsoft's on device programming environment. Means it is developed right on Windows Phone itself.

Love this app, Best to discover the forgotten songs. We have it reviewed at wpxbox.com and also have couple of suggestions.
First is wrapping up of names of song which becomes messy when its too long. Second, once I play a song, does it get off the list ? I don't see that happening until I refresh

Thank you very much for the review,
regarding the issues, I'll look into them for the next update though I'm not sure whether it's exactly possible to fix all of them due to limitations of the TouchDevelop programing enviroment.
Hey people,
Besides XDA, I'm also active as a (videogame re)mixer. I've made a few tracks and am trying to get a bit of views on my pages. So, here's a shameless plug for my stuff. I'm not earning anything from it. I'm doing it all for fun and recognition. Hope someone likes it.
My YT channel
My Soundcloud page
Oh, and if there's someone here that can do video montage and stuff, and is willing to help me out a little, please let me know. My YT video's are a bit... static?
I guess noone likes it then?

I used to love the C&C games... before EA raped them.
I'm at work at the minute, but I'll have a listen when I get home tonight. I've been into gaming for a LONG time, and have been a synth player for as long as I can remember, so I too have a love for computer game music and stuff that sounds like it.
