is there currently any apps that provides a bigger caller id?
and is there a phonebook app out there that have the contacts pic next to the number?

Contacts unrecognized when incoming call

I have a problem with the contacts from the phone samed as outlook contact.
When there is an incoming call from a known/saved contact ...it is not recognized.
If i want to call the same number it is recognized as the one saved in the phone ...
Any ideeas?

Hi.
I used to have the same problem. Here is what i did.
Open your contacts and make sure they are listed with lastnames and a , after the lastname. If they are not listed like described then edit your contacts so only firstname is under firstname and lastname is under lastname.
If you have both firstname and lastname on name place in contacts it will not show up, and you have to edit your contacts.
It is only when watching your contacts there should be a comma (,) - when you edit or put in names you do not put the comma in yourself - it will be done automatically when you save after edit.
It worked for me.

handcent sms & go sms displaying contact name

handcent sms 3.6.1 display the name of the received sms contact name as it is in my contacts list, the updated version of handcent will not display the name of the contacts, instead it will display the number only, same as what go sms do, it only display the number of the contact. is there any way to make go sms display the name as it is in my contacts list?

strange issue

indeed, any other suggestion how to solve this problem, especially when the apps did not show the name listed in the contacts list, it display instead the number with the interational code, so maybe i have to predefine the international code in the android settings (maybe), so is there a way to do that?

any news on this issue?

I haven't tested the program (I prefer stock) but surely this is in the settings, I'm sure the last time I used Handcent, it had the option to view by name or number...?

I actually sometimes get this issuse, I normaly just have to write a bit with the person, until handcent notices, that the contact has a name? :/

[Q] Phone Numbers Under Contact Names!???

In my contacts list, I can see just the names.
Until now, I couldn`t find any option to show phone numbers under contact names in the contacts list.
But! Yesterday I updated phone software to v10c from v10b. After I updated, I openend contacts list and
saw phone numbers under contact names in the list. But when I opened contacts again numbers was disseapeared. I don`t think it was a dream
I am sure I saw it. Can someone tell me what is going on with my phone? Is there anyway to show phone numbers under contact names in the contact list? Thanks.

Update: I can see the phone numbers under names when I open contacts from sms messaging. But when I open contacts from Home, I can`t see the phone numbers under names on the list! Weird!

[Q] Changing details on whatsapp contact

Hello:
When I'm editing details of contact at the phone book I see that the person have a connection with whatsapp and I can see the nickname that I saved him at the beginning, and now I want to change this nickname - how do I do it?
from the phone book it not editable, from the whatsapp there is no access to this information.
what is the way?

You have to rename the contact in your phonebook. There actual name that linked with the normal phone number. Then refresh whatsapp

i did "Separate" at the phone book and it's disappear and i cant "join" them together.
i changed the name of the contact in my phone book and then there was 2 contacts with the same number and different names so i "join" them together.
how do i refresh the whatsapp?

In the whatsapp contact list hit the option button next to your home buttom and a refresh option should be one of the options, refresh contact list.

I understand you and i tried this and it didn't succeed (the old nickname still stay at the phonebook) so i uninstalled whatsapp and than install it again.

That's weird, I'm sorry I couldn't help. You did mean contacts nickname not your nickname on whatsapp right?

I mean when i'm editing contact at the phone book it's shows that he connected to a contact from whatsapp (same contact and jt' right and good) but the name of the contact that the phone book shows from the whatsapp is the first name that i typed when i saved the contact at the phone book.
