[Q] Android Market - Nook Color General

Hi,
I recently d/l an app that apparently is pretty offensive to the dev community. After learning how offensive it was, it was only fitting to uninstall the program.
However, now that I have uninstalled the app, I cannot get the Android market to work on my rooted nook color anymore.
Can someone please help?
Thank you!

Try clearing data for Market using titanium backup.

[Q] Kindle force close problems

I am having force close problems with my Kindle app. I have installed the update and all new features like dictionary search and the like cause a force close. When I press the home button to exit the application while reading I also get a force close error. Luckily the program is still saving my spot. I have searched for more information and there are a few reviews in market talking about this problem, but that's all I can find.
I have reset permissions. Uninstalled and reinstalled the update. I have removed the Verizon version with titanium backup, and reinstalled with regular market version.
I am rooted, DI01, and deBinged. I am noticing some applications just do not work on the Fascinate for what ever reason, like new wifi Skype. Is this something I can fix, or do i just need to hold off for an update?
I loved mobipocket on my bb storm. I like Kindle too but I wish I could get it to work correctly. Any help, advice, or comments are greatly appreciated.
Bump.
I'm on the Aria but am having the same problem. I'm assuming it's some process/app interfering w/ it, but I have no idea what it could be.
Any help would be appreciated.
This will show you my installed apps through App Brain. I don't think that is the problem though.

Is there a better reader than Kindle? I am suprised that more people have not had this problem.
Better readers are, Aldiko and moon+ reader, get Aldiko then look on drinkmalk.com for how to getbooks, read em with moon+

I have found FBReader and am very happy as I can still use mobipocket files. This artical also shows how to keep in sync with your dropbox account.

[Q] Facebook for android?

Hey all,
Two day old NC owner, rooted with froyo, and everything's great.
I have a stupid question though.
Why can't I find facebook in the Android Marketplace?
Is there somewhere else/somehow else I should get it?
Thanks,
you can find the answer in many places on this board and @ nookDevs.
There may be a simpler way than using ADB though.
Try using market enabler after doing the clear market cache and google services framework cache dance.
Don't remember exact steps off the top of my head so you'll have to search, but do the "dance" mentioned above, then reboot, then first thing use ME and then when you open market you have a much better chance of finding what you are looking for.
Worked for me!
user brianf21 has an app in the dev section that can clear the market and dalvik cache too. Not sure if it does the google services framework or not.
I had the same problem when I installed HC. Then I did a search for the word "widget", scrolling down the list you might see "Facebook for android". If you do, walla you found facebook
Good luck.

Autonooted 3.0 on 1.1 Firmware, suddenly unable to sign-in Google talk and use Market

Hi All,
Just wanted to get feedback on a problem that just occured today. So I had my Nook Color for about two months now, and pretty much autonooted it the first day I got it using Autonooter 3.0. Device was 1.1 out of the box. Everything worked fine, youtube, gmail, market and gtalk.
However today, when I tried to update and download some apps via market, it would just get stuck and downloading and stay at 0% with no completion. I also noticed that my google talk would also refuse to sign in anymore. Strange thing is my youtube and Gmail still work. Any thoughts or feedback anyone?
thanks for reading!
Sounds like a google problem, but you might consider deleting the data associated with those apps if your feeling adventurous.

What do you mean by deleting the data associated with those apps?
So what do people think that:

Apps not showing in Market 'my apps'

In continuation to the minor problems with my new IS, the first being Bluetooth transfers restarting the phone, (here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071021);
another issue am having is with respect to apps in the my apps section of market which allows updated.
Since this is a new phone, i had some apps transferred from other handsets and installed, rather than downloading them all over again.
None of the apps are showing in market to update, not a single one!
i have read about this in other posts, where clearing the cache seems to solve the problem, but it does not help in my case.
any idea why this could be happening & any possible solutions?
The only solution i think is a firmware update...
Depending on the apps, they may not be compatible with 2.2, what are they?

Regular apps like astro, angry birds, barcode scanner.
just a few off the top of my head.
the apps do work, and if there is an update available, the app prompts for the same when opened.
however, in the last tab of market, which displays all the installed apps & those which have an update, not even a single app is shown except google maps...
Are you rooted?

could you be so kind to dump your build.prop?
it sounds it got fked on some way...
@dfd9999
Nope, no root, no changes what so ever.
Stock IS
@Hawkysoft
errr... could you kindly explain how i should do that?
Titanium Back up can fix market links… but I believe you have to be rooted for it to work but I may be wrong, its worth a shot!

just uninstall the last app you got from the market.
if the method from lgm_dev is not working:
try to clear data/cache from the market. Settings->apps->manage->(tab all)-> market and clear the data there
Index should be rebuilded when it is started again.
IncS is my first Android phone and i have just got Root access. But after i flashed a new Rom and log on to Android Market with my Google account, there is only the apps i have paied for, and not all the free apps i have downloaded befor the flash.
Is it realy only the paied apps it rembers?

NYTimes Issues

Starting yesterday, the NYTimes app for tablet crashed on me every time I opened it. Tried uninstalling with Titanium Backup, soft reset, restore (app only), but to no avail: it crashes every time after opening, whenever I try to scroll.
What's odder still is that when I locate the app in the web market (which I couldn't do directly yesterday, for some reason) and attempt to install it, all of my devices, including the Xoom, are greyed out.
If I search for the app from the market on my Xoom, it doesn't even show up (although the phone app does. At one point, briefly, I was getting a message about my download being cancelled due to incompatibility. Now, however, once I can get to the app's page in the market, when I try to install, I get "The requested item could not be found.")
Finally, if I manage to get to a web from which I can click a link that will take me directly to the NYTimes tablet app page in the market, after I click "install" I get: "purchase cancelled - your device is not compatible with this item."
The only thing I can think of that I've changed on my end is having upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1 recently, but I did not notice whether the NYT app quit working immediately after the upgrade or later.
I would really appreciate any help with this one. Thanks
when I upgraded to 3.1, almost any app I restored from Titanium Backup would FC immediately when run. Didn't matter whether I restored the app only or app+data.
Clearly there's an incompatibility between Titanium Backup and the way apps are installed or stored in 3.1.

I've had some weird Ti Backup issues as well, but this also seems to involve the market.
Can anyone else comment as to whether they're able to see the nytimes tablet app in the market, or install it on a xoom running 3.1? Thanks
In my searches, I came across at least one user with a verizon xoom running 3.1, and he claimed to be able to download and use this app from the market.
The app has been updated since my original post from 1.01 to 1.03, and a look at the reviews indicates that the upgrade may have fixed the issue, but unfortunately, I cannot get the app.
I would be hugely grateful if anyone, especially someone with a verizon xoom, could take a look to see whether they are able to download this app (and if they can, is there some way for me to get it?). Thanks
I'm on a Verizon Xoom.
It's not showing for me anymore, either. Only the phone app is.

Thanks so much for checking. Are you running 3.1?
