Activity Launcher keeps freezing and force closing after asop 9.9.2. Reinstalled Rom and even tried a different launcher. Only freezes after a day or two of using a new launcher.

Try doing a full wipe data,cache,dev-cache,sd/ext. Also go into settings/applications/manage applications and clear the data on your launcher. Also if you have jit on you might wanna try turning it off. Hope this helps good luck.

I have force closes with that same rom "a.core" has stop responding. Any tips or reasoning why it does that?
no clue !?!! but someone told me to wipe, wipe ext, then flash the rom again.
Yeah, i would wipe and reflash first and see if anything gets any better.

Did you use any back-up programs (like back-up pro, titanium backup)? If so, then there's the root of your problem.
Either way, wipe, reformat, reflash, fix permissions.

Start by removing all of your widgets off the screen and try adding them one by one to see if you have one that doesn't play nice. Widgets are the cause of acore FC most of the time. Try fixing your permissions as well.
Good luck to you guys.
So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing defaults and cache. Nothing works. Even reboots or Rom changes don't! Its making me mad. LP will not hold my settings whenever I reboot it to make the changes because it always forecloses. Any suggestions?

That's because it sucks. Lol. I personally use ADW Ex and it has all the things LP does without all the bugs. Try it and you'll see what I mean.

Oh I have used ads, but I like how the dock bar slides so there are more apps down there. I really don't like having apps on the screen, to me it looks messy. Plus you can have custom icons. But if worse comes to worse, I have it in titanium backup

As far as your settings not sticking you can go into the system and delete the dbdata/databases/com.fede.launcher folder. I did this and it allowed my settings to stick. Make a backup first in case something goes wrong. Hopefully this helps.
Well deleting it seemed to help, but now all it does is forclose. Never had a problem like this before

I'm not sure about your fc's. Happened to me once with adw. I just flashed back to stock and a master clear with odin and started over. Not the answer you want to hear I'm sure, but it was what worked for me.
mine generally FC when i flash over a new rom before going back to stock
Basically i try to make ADW Launcher EX my default home screen but it does not remember it as such. I have to constantly choose which home screen I want when i hit home. sometimes it will remember to use ADW EX, but if I restart the phone any memory it once had as the default homescreen is toast and I have to start from scratch.
any ideas?
nexus 1
CM7 rc1
but i also had this problem with CM6.1
Do you have it installed on the SD?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
nah, its saved on the phones internal memory
Hmmmmm... Have you tried wiping data from both launchers?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I can try it again, but everything was wiped when i installed cm7 anyways. I thought for sure that cm7 would fix the issue because it happened in 6.1 as well.
I think it might have to do with widget locker and its home helper though.
I know I'm making the most basic suggestions, but since you didn't give much info on what you've tried, it only makes sense to start with the basics...
The reason I suggested wiping data from the apps is because, even through you may have wiped during your install, you may also have restored data via Titanium?
Again, with nothing to go off, I'm making basic, easy, and obvious suggestions first...

You could always freeze or delete any home screen apps that are taking priority over ADW Ex. Also, if you're using WidgetLocker and you're rooted, you'd be better off disabling HomeHelper and enabling root bypass for the 5 second rule.
Zero problems here, it acts just like any other Home app does, it honors the home launcher defaults.
What you say and what you describe are totally different. You say ADW EX isn't the default but then you say you have to 'start from scratch'. So are you saying that ADW EX is loaded but its settings are reset, or that ADW EX isn't the default?
I use it on my Nexus One (rom in sig) and my Nook Color, zero problems on either.
Double-check that ADW EX isn't installed to sdcard. Titanium and others can in certain situations automatically put all your apps on SD without you knowing. Also, if Widget Locker is on your SD, the home helper function could be causing that. So, is ADW your system default, or is it Widget Locker, with ADW selected within WL?
Rebooted my phone this morning and upon restart I keep getting force closes from multiple apps. Everything was working yesterday and I didn't change anything on the device. Any ideas? I am running Firefly 2.4.
Here are the apps that keep force closing.
Facebook
Rom Manager
Titanium Backup
Advanced Task Killer
Beautiful widgets
Matt
Did you try un-installing and re-installing? The only time i ever had that issue was when i accidently fixed permissions during a rom flash.

I have unistalled and reistalled a few of the problematic apps and it didn't fix anything. I guess it's time to update to FF 2.9 anyways. Might as well start with a clean slate.
The weird thing is that it worked fine all day yesterday and nothing was changed on the device that I can remember.
I would suggest updating to 2.9, also rom manager and atk are not needed at all, so there are 2 problems fixed...
I was having some FC with the XDA app and status bar so I figured I'd try this to fix it. Now I get FC constantly on ADW and sometimes when I go home, the screen gets frozen on black until I reboot or ADW force closes, I tried to fix permissions again, didn't help. Any ideas?
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.
Whatever is going on, it kept my NC awake all night and destroyed my battery. ADW was 88% of the battery.

Try removing your widgets to see what happens.. I've had a few first-boot FC's out of ADW and LauncherPro doing ROM upgrades recently, not sure why.. I usually go to Settings->Applications and Force Close whichever launcher I'm using and then it's fine, dunno why, or why that's different than the Android prompt to do it..
The system is prompting me to do it. No idea why this is happening after I hit fix permissions.
I also cleared data and cache on ADW and it's still doing it.
