Need a Server Mirror? Contact me. - Nook Color General

Hey, if anyone needs a mirror for their nook color development, send me a PM or add me on MSN using the msn address in my profile. I have a server with a super fast connection. I can also provide SVN or Subversion.

I thought you bricked your NC, as in, "now it's only good for a mirror". HAHA

Not everyone likes their stuff mirrored w/o permission.

i need fbabble

have u a fbabble.apk for me? ty!
That app started screwing up with newer versions of android. Try ebuddy from the market, works great
ty very much,it`s perfect!

actually the aol aim program works the best. You have to download the real program on your computer. Then tell it to attach facebook to your chat, once you do that download the app from the market and when you log in they will be there

Interesting. I'm gonna try that, I haven't used AIM much in a while but that has the cleanest UI for android of any of the chat apps I think.

IMing on Android?

Okay, so I know I can add Windows Live, AIM, Yahoo!, etc. accounts to contact details. Then, when I go to the contact, I can supposedly 'click' on the say Windows Live to chat, but when I do, nothing happens. Am I missing something? Does the Nexus One come with the applications built in or do I have to download them? If I have to download them, what would be your suggestions?
I got ebuddy...works great (facebook chat is iffy sometimes but everything else is flawless)

I've used Nimbuzz and Fring and they both work just fine for your IMing needs.

So I guess Android doesn't come with anything preloaded?

Yes that's correct. The only chat/IM capability that the Nexus One has embedded in it is Google Talk, and that's only because it has several Google Apps included with it.
Technically, none of those are included in "Android." Android is the Operating System.
Curious, what gave you the impression that all those other clients were supported by the Operating System on the Nexus One without running an app?

Well, because when I added them, it says Chat with Windows Live and you can click it, but I guess it has the functionality to 'hook' onto an application that actually supports said chat service? I guess I should of known. XD

+1 for ebuddy.
You create a free ebuddy account and all your IM logins to account. I have AIM, MSN,GMAIL, FACEBOOK. all in my ebuddy account. So when i login to my ebuddy account all those IM apps are logins also.

You are 100% correct. After you install an IM client, it'll load the app you installed when you click "chat with.." through contacts.
Gotta love android intents.
Now if only yahoo/msn/aim would create proper push im clients for android....grrr

meebo doesnt require a login except for a yahoo, msn, gtalk, aim, etc.
very nice to see it grouped into 1. i have all on ONLINE group so when i sign in everything is grouped together.
Best one I've tried so far. Besides the one that came on Enomther's ROM.

The first version of android on the g1 had a default app. Some devs cook it into there roms. Don't know why google removed it out was better than any other in my opinion.

I don't know how useful it could be to an infrequent US visitor unless you have some kind of proxy or vpn setup but here you go.

Please PM me once you've downloaded it. I don't want to waste my Dropbox bandwidth by having people hotlinking it or anything.

[Q] Torrent... for roms, mods, themes

I saw the Transdroid page but i wounder if you have thinked about to have a torrent page where you can download files, themes and roms from to your computer. Or is that to complicated to do? I have what so ever no clue about how that works...
/Sandra!
that is only a client to remotely control utorrent
and your need to have your utorrent configured to accept WebUI request
it's useless if you ask me
it's much faster to login via the phone web browser, and do stuff in the browser than using that app
But not if you wanna download a lot of different things?
Or maybe wanna upload manny files... Well as I said. Don't rly know alot of that kind of things atm...

Why download roms via torrent?
Use andtorrent and download from your cell in that case
Maybe u wanna try different roms, themes and other things... Well it was just something that hitted me. Why cant i found any sgs i9000 stuffs on torrent bla bla bla...

because the files are tiny
no need to use torrents for small files
and is too annoying for DEV to worry about where to list their ROMs
forum is easier and cleaner, also moderated
torrents are a mess always, and there is no moderation
I c your point. But is it then okey for someone else to upload files on torrent or do you have to ask for promission to upload first?

G+ Nook Color Circle

This thread is for us, Nook Color users, to post our names so we can follow each other on Google+ and talk Nook stuff.
Remember you will have to create your own nook color circle on your account.
and please guys do not post your e-mail, just your names i'd hate for you guys to get spammed to death.
this is not an invite thread. This is so we, who already have G+ accounts can meet new people and talk Nook/Android.
my account is under Michael Neidlinger.

Shaneka McGhee
I'm currently not a Nook Color owner, but am REALLY close to buying one with the intent to immediately root it and install one of the alternate ROMs.
Anyway, I added everyone here that came up in a Google+ search to my Nook Color circle. Looking forward to any information and discussions!
