Very Strange: We have two Heros, one was rooted, one not. The rooted one started having Wifi problems weeks ago, other one worked fine with wifi. Went to get ready to shut them down,( out of service for the kids to play with on wifi), and nothing had been changed yet. I was just testing the wifi, and they both had a lot of problems with it. Then I rooted the other and ran the same rom on both, and they're still having problems. This is not a Wifi problem because we have 2 computers, 3 phones, and 4 dsi, running just fine.( maybe not all at the same time but, alot at any given time. ) I don't understand, I thought maybe the rooted one was the problem, but the other one that had never had anything done to it, is also a problem now. Anybody having this problem?

Yea it's me again. The one with the -Modified-Hero

It's an AOSP rom. But it was having wifi trouble before we ran that. They're having trouble, reguardless of the rom that is on there. One of them was fine till a week ago, non-rooted.

I have had my TYTN 2 since launch, It worked GREAT, everything was fine...until about 3 months ago. I am on the FIDO network in Canada, and (just like some other poeple) 3G stopped working when on 'AUTO" but GSM still works fine. Now I checked the thread about fixing this issue...so I used the search but they all have the problem where it didnt work in the first place...mine was working for a year and then just suddenly stopped.
I have switched to Garmin's 1.2 ROM and switched the Radio ROM, but still the same problem...is it Hardware? coz I would REALLY hate un-flashing everything that I have just done yesterday and after re-installing all my programs :S
bump, anyone?
Here is a suggestion that may help, well hopefully.
Have you installed advancedconfig? If not do so.
Once installed go to start>programs>advancedconfig>menu>comm manager settings>check 3g>click ok>done>soft reset.
After the reboot open your comm manager and and turn 3g on....
On mine 3G DID work originally, and when I searched about the problem I found many where the 3G stopped working after a few months too. All had to send it back for repair, so I tried a few different ROM/radios, as all was unsuccessful I also returned it. Now everything is fine... except they kept my precious for 2 months
Thanks, I'll first try RedBandana's fix, and hope taht it works. If not i'll have to send it in all the way from Canada
Phone is my gf's so it might take me a few days to get you a logcat.
Pandora will play a few songs and then skip or just stop for no reason. Stock ROM and Cog2.3 had no issues. Everything else seems cool.
We restored the app from Titanium, so I cleared data in apps settings, uninstalled it, wiped cache and dalvik in recovery, then rebooted and reinstalled Pandora from the market. No change.
Any thoughts?
Ive had this same prob on several diff roms. I dont think its a rom problem.

The issue of songs stopping at random is a known problem and Pandora has been trying to fix it. They released an update a few weeks ago that seems to have fixed it for some and made it worse for others. Its not a problem with Paragon as I had the same problem running Phoenix.
That being said, I think the problem is made worse depending on the modem thats used, which is why some people have the problem and others dont - but this is just my guess based on observation. I've been listening to Pandora for a number of hours on the official froyo release from AT&T and it has yet to skip or stop. Maybe coincidence that I haven't had the problem yet but it's looking good so far.

Interesting ... I suspected it was modem related. What's weird is no issues on Cog or stock. Maybe a timing coincidence?
Maybe we'll try out the official froyo next. When did that drop? Ota or kies?
I've been running cm7 for two months already so neener neener.

I am running Paragon RC6 and it on rare occasion does the same thing to me. BUT when I was running stock 2.1 it also did the same thing. As said, Pandora is trying to fix the issue....
If you are still having this issue, update Pandora. They released version 1.5.5 which addresses these problems. I've been running it for a few days with no issues.

Thanks, we updated to RC6 and the Pandora problem went away but was replaced by "refreshing sim data" constantly. Very obnoxious.
Yesterday I picked her up an Inspire 4G so the Cappy is currently running oem 2.2 and on CL waiting patiently for a new home.
Hello to all.
A few weeks ago, I installed trinity custom ROM on my Incredible S.
I have S-OFF. I felt the ROM to be a bit slow and decided to install a new one.
Yesterday, I installed Android Revolution HD 2.1.2. Initially, the network connection was not at all there. So I installed recommended radio. And the network came back and everything was working fine.
Then, I tried to apply a mod for CRT animation. After that patch, I've lost my network again.
I tried to flash the device so many times that I forgot the count.
I tried 3 radios from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129014&highlight=radio and none works.
I installed a lot other ROMs and they all faced the same problem of network.
Currently, I tried ICS for INCS beta 1 and that too shows no network error.
The SIM is working fine another phone of mine.
I'm good at programming. So, can grasp technical details.
Please help.
Thank you.
OKAY.
I just realized that I was working with Back cover open. Upon closing the back cover, the problem got solved.
I spent a whole night of mine without sleeping to solve this and after 9-10 hours I came to know THIS. THIS? Sigh.
Lesson learned XD
Hi All,
First post i think on this forum... I Have a HTC one and I flashed the Cynogenmod rom on it a couple of days ago. Right off boot my wifi would not access my network. it could see it and i could put in the password and it would say connecting but it would never connect. So I reinstalled the rom and still nothing the same thing... So today I got fed up with it and I put the Revolt rom on my Phone thinking that might help the wifi issue for some odd reason.. And still nothing. I don't know if i did something wrong in my flashing.. But I have flashed a lot of my phones and never lost wifi ever. I also have no idea where to post this or anything if you guys can point me in the right direction to someone that has had the same problem that would be great! Im going to post a video of what the wifi is doing in a few so you guys know what im talking about.
Thanks for the read.

I have the same problem . exact;y the same. ever since I have flashed my Galaxy Tab 2.0.7 with RC-2 cyanogenmod WIFI does not work . At times I regret flashing my perfectly fine default OS with buggy cyanogenmod .
Same here with CM10.1 (stable version). Whenever I try to connect to my wifi I get an "authentication problem." From what I can tell this is not from my end. Anyone know a fix or work-around?
Is it a 2 wire router
Hello, I recently got my HTC ONE, and discovered that HTC has a serious issue with wifi connectivity. I had a HTC desire a couple of years ago and got rid of it after noticing wifi connection constantly disconnecting and reconnecting (it stays off for 1 - 2 seconds, then reconnects) even if I was standing right next to the router. But now it seems that HTC ONE has the same damn problem. I DID all things indicated in other posts, like check the best wifi performance option, tried 2,4ghz only, auto, nothing works. This happens more often when 3g wcdma is on, but it still disconnects on gsm only, so I doubt it has anything to do with cellular antenna. The phone is brand new, I doubt that taking it to service and getting a new one will solve anything. What is there to be done?
And another thing that bugs me. Lets say autobrightness is off rights? When the background is dark the backlight still goes down, and when its white it goes up, just a bit. and the transition is very lame, as its soo obvious, it goes up and down in steps that last 20ms. but its visible and annoying to look at. any patch or soft for this? Thanks!
Are you on stock rom?
I might be imagining it, but ever since leaving stock for arhd 4.1.2, and even now on 4.2.2 the wifi seems to me to be less stable. However the 3g/lte isn't bad.
Hopefully will be fixed on future releases /source code releases from htc..

I'm having the exact same problem on my brand new stock HTC One
Constantly connects and drops two seconds later all day and drains my battery.

Same thing with me. Brand new HTC One, only a week old. Right out of the box, I was having the same wifi issue you describe here. I did some searching and a couple of people said the issue went away when they installed the ViperOne ROM. So that's what I did. Same problem.
This is frustrating. My friends all gave me crap when I decided to go back to Android after being on Windows Phone 8 for a year... telling me I'm going to have to deal with poor battery life, etc. I laughed at them. Now they're laughing at me.
I'll have to look into arhd 10.1 and see if that helps.
Okay, this was weird. So, I performed a nandroid backup of my current state, flashed ARHD 40.3 (after wiping and deleting everything) and I had the same wifi drop issue in ARHD! So, since I preferred ViperOne anyway, I went back into recovery did another wipe/delete of everything and restored the nandroid backup I made right before flashing ARHD. Boo yah! I haven't had the wifi drop problem since! Ha! No idea... maybe I just needed a cleanup? I'd already tried wiping the cache before, to no avail. Strange... but happy it's working now.

Never mind... it's back to doing the same thing. Very annoying. It only worked right for about half a day, then went back to dropping the wifi constantly. I don't know what to try next.
I've never had problems with WiFi-dropouts on my HTC One, used both 10.1 @ 4.2.2 and now 40.3 @ 4.4.
However I have dropouts on my Samsung Galaxy S4, where it claims my network is unstable (connected with 5 GHz). The S4 is stock, no mods what so ever. It's only unstable at my home router, never at work or anywhere else. I use a Jensen 3000DG. Never tried 2.4 GHz at home, so I don't know if it's the band or the router itself that's the problem. It can be one of many reasons.
My point being, if you haven't tried already, try a different router or try either 2.4 or 5 GHz.
If you are certain the problem lies with your phone, I would return it to seller on warranty.

Another thing I just realized, it could be an IP-conflict within your local network. I.e. if your phone asks for an ip-address from the wifi-router, which tries to give out an ip-address that's already in use by another device. Can often happen if one or more devices has a static ip, or if the leasing period of an ip has just exceeded and the device still holds the ip even if the router has released it.
If this is plausible, get some info on your home network (ip-ranges, gateway, etc), and give your htc a static ip in the higher range.
I.e. if your router's gateway is 192.168.0.1, and it gives out from 192.168.0.101-199, give your htc something like 192.168.0.190.
Otherwise, like mentioned earlier, try a different router...
