I have worked with xtremekilla09 to develop a custom app for the FireFly Rom. The app currently allows FireFly uses to access:
* FireFly Batteries
* FireFly Dialers
* FireFly Themes
* FireFly Fixes
* FireFly Updates
I plan to continue working with xtremekilla09 to add more functionality.
See the second Post for Download and Changelog.
YOU USE THIS SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK, THE DEVELOPER OF THIS SOFTWARE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED BY THIS APP.
You can download this ROM/Update using the FF Mods and Fixes app:

This is a fantastic little program. It basically provides OTA updates to Firefly and allows you to customize the installation. The only request I have is to add the ability to flash back to stock Firefly. For instance, if you flash the Samsung apps, add a package to flash to remove them. Same with the SMS fix and themes. Right now if I flash a theme, I'm not sure how to get it back to stock Firefly without reflashing the entire ROM.
EDIT: I found a bug. I downloaded the update package and it didn't save it with the file extension. There was no extension, so when I tried to flash it, I couldn't find it in CWM.

Well, I'm not really asking to download stock Firefly. It's more to flash back to the stock theme without having to reflash the whole ROM. This is probably something that xtreme needs to put together.

I will put together the stock theme and put it in the themes section.
The beauty of this app designed by wilsongis is that there is no need to download the app again and again. I can update stuff on the fly and you will see it.
I will let you know when I am done with the stock theme.

Bad [email protected]# app
Why no dark fire blue in the themes list? I've been running it on ff2.2 since it was first posted with no problem and I'm running it on 2.3 as I'm swyping this. Not a problem for me I guess since I have the zip but I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on such a nice theme.

It should be fairly easy to add to the themes list. Send a PM to xtremekilla09 with the info about the theme in question.

For those who wanted the FireFly stock theme. Go ahead and look under the themes section.
I also put up a "Remove Samsung App" zip in the fixes section. I have not tried this yet, so if there are any brave souls that want to try it and report back, I would be grateful.

Vibrant AOSPish FroYo 1.0
I based this off of eugene373's JPM port. So GPS is NOT WORKING. Everything else, however, IS working.
This is based off of Euegene's JPM_Update that was posted 10/21/2010 at 9PMEST... It has all the fixes except the new recovery one he just posted.
My goal since getting the Vibrant was to make it at least look as AOSP as possible and I can say it's pretty close.

Install rom manager open it and install the clockwork update make sure theres no update.zip files on your internal sd card then download the rom using anybrowser just not the stock browser for some reason it won't download then put the file on the root of the internal sd then reboot using rom manager (the second option under clockwork) then reinstall packages then it should boot to clockwork, then choose install file from sdcard then choose from sdcard then every thing else is self explanatory lol

So i imagine this has the potential to wipe the SD card like the eugene's build, right? What exactly was the way to avoid that? Just put it on an external sd card?

Both Bionix's ROMs and my Vibrant AOSPish 2.1 ROM will flash a kernel for you. Other then that use the search function.
This has not wiped my SD card. Although I backed everything up.
This is fantastic and is the first froyo I'm considering keeping on my phone. Remember to zipalign! (including framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk).

Nvm got it
First - I did not in any way shape or form create this theme. All credit goes to D3StRoY & R64 in the I9000 Forums. It was just so nice that i couldn't help but put it over top of Cog 3.0
[THEME] Generation X - V1.14 Please Please Please go and thank them if you like this awesome theme.
Also, this is not an exact replica of said theme. I am in no way skilled enough to port the exact theme over. It is very close at this point and ill keep working on it as i have time. I honestly never even tried doing this before until last night. I just swapped artwork around.
Known issue:
- does not have epic unlock screen
- while charging the charging animation does not display properly (fixing that by tonight(i think))
Now working

If you want the launcher icons to match you will need a suitable launcher replacement that lets you use custom icons. Like LauncherPro.

FireFly 1.5- Problem with v1.5 install zip. Taken down until i have time to look into it more.

On a side note thanks to the phoenix team and there website for bringing the existence of this theme to my attention.
Optional CWM flash-able Boot Animation
Nothing fancy. Also my first time making an animation, so be gentile. lol

No. This is a theme, not a complete rom. You have to flash Cog 3 first.
Sweet! Time to flash Cog! Thanks!!
This should be compatible with any rogers 2.2 Rom. Unless DG did more tweaking then Im aware of. As always try at your own risk.

This doesn't have anything to do with the modem. If you have a different modem and its working this shouldn't effect it. This is just a graphic change.
The op says "cog 3.0 + ugl1" or something to that effect, which made me think you needed the original modem.. seemed strange to me, but just wantsled yo verify I wasn't going to screw things up...

Very Sorry! I have pushed them as far right as possible let me know if that works better. Sorry for the Ads just trying to pay for the hosting for the kitchen.
Works now when viewing the full site, still not the mobile but that isn't a big deal. I understand the need for the ads though! What better way to get clicks than to cover up the submit button
now though it is giving me an error "content error - the requested file is too large for conversion in the gateway/proxy". Sorry for causing all this trouble! Is there anything i can do to help?

Convenient I just asked Jellette for a port of this. Will flash shortly.
Dang tunefoo. You answered my prayers son! Im as proud of you as a father would be of a son. You shocked me with this one.lol! I was just salivating over darkys 9.4 rom today and dam you've ported it. Love your tenacity man! You're doing your best to bring it for us just as the other fine developers we have in the vibrant thread. Ill give some feedback in a few. I need to talk to you about a few other ports also. Pm me. I just got in. Thanks for taking the suggestion regarding overstock!
Does the fact that those are i9000 themes matter as to our own flashing? Wouldn't the theme have to first be ported...? They're beautiful though. I'll probably flash this and one of those later in the week when I have some spare time.
Besides some misplaced text, you can. Just open the zip and delete services.jar in the archive and you'll be good.

No it don't mattere. Typically if you delete the service.jar and scv.jar from system/framework from the theme it immediately allows you to flash themes compatible with the rom build.(JS7, JS8 examples) that's what makes all this **** great about whats happening in our thread right now. The marriage of Vibrant & Galaxy S compatible themes and stuff right now is so exciting. I'm always floored at the themes coming out of the I9000 themes and apps thread as well as our vibrant thread. So refreshing that this is happening. Cheers Man!
What kernel and modem did you package with this? And did you implement all the fixes available for the vibrant (ie gps and what not)? Can't wait to try it!

Just use root explorer or astro file manager and go into system/frameworks. Click on frameworks and you will see service.jar & svc.jar. Delete those 2 files close up then copy revised zip to internal SD as you would any other flash, flash IN CW and you should be good to go. Good Luck!
This mod is meant for people like me, who generally like the stability of the stock rom, but want a better battery meter and the CRT off animation. It may break custom roms and will not work on de-odexed roms.
I just made my first mod. I used UOT kitchen, which is a really cool website to cookup minor mods for most roms. You folks probably knew about it forever, I just discovered it. All hail the creators of this website!
http://uot.dakra.lt/
Anyway, this mod was based off of the framework and system file extracted from my phone which is running:
Stock EI22, odexed with mkasick's kernel and CRT Off Mod Custom and non EI22 roms may not like this mod.
It also includes the CRT-OFF mod that was posted by Tortel1210 (I had that installed when I did the mod.)
I don't know if the kernel version will matter or if it works on any other roms, all I know is it works on my phone.
Flash it using CWM 3.x, I strongly suggest making a backup in CWM (nandroid) before flashing this, just because it works on my phone doesn't mean that it won't cause your phone to burst into flames

If it doesn't work you can go to the website listed in the OP and make your own mods. Its so easy even I could do it!

Would you mind sharing a little bit of how you made this mod with UOT? I tried last night to do some customization using it, but it didn't quite work. The only thing that changed was my font ...
I uploaded my framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, and systemUI.apk files, but maybe I selected some of the wrong options? Did you have to do anything in particular to get it to work?
Thanks for you help!
Oh, and thanks for the battery/CRT mod. It worked great!

You're welcome.
Here's how I made this mod. Your steps will be different depending on the mod you do.
Go To: http://uot.dakra.lt, click on Kitchen. Click on Battery (or whatever mod you are doing), select Use this mod. This brings up a list of possible styles and options. Pick what you want. Click "Generate Preview" if you want to see what it will look like. Continue along with Popup, Lockscreen, or any other options you want to modify. You only have to go into the options you actually want to use.
Click on File Upload. Under update-binary, Select "Type Galaxy"
Where it says "Select your rom from kitchen's list, or upload your own files" Select System files.
Below you will see boxes to upload your framework , twframework-res and SystemUI files.
Go to Summay screen. Click "Submit Work to kitchen"
Let's see, how does it go now....
????
Profit.
Anyway, that's the best I can remember. There is a howto section on the UOT page, and the xda thread for it is at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
I take no credit for this great tool. I'm barely smart enough to use it, let alone write something like that. The sigs at the bottom of the website are:
Qliratu, Mendozinas & Avreen.
These folks are geniuses.
run very well on my ei22...

My favorite mod, does this work with non stock roms? Eg ACS ICS or ERA?

OK, for those of you who have installed this mod, I'm sorry. For some reason it breaks the TW launcher. (I don't use it so I never tested it. Told you I was a noob).
DO NOT select TW launcher as the default launcher, or you will be stuck on an infinite loop of FCs.
If I figure out how to make one that works I'll post it. Otherwise, the only way to get TWLauncher to work again is to restore the original framework and systemUI files, which I don't have.

did you take the file down? i was interested in flashing this. I never use TW Launcher anyway. Can you PM me the file? Thanks
thats unfortunate, just a bug in the kitchen or something? I saw this thread and made a similar battery mod with the kitchen. Chose the one with the smoother looking blue circle.
Anyway, touchwiz is still working for me, no problems.
Hmm, I might try some odexed themes that way.

Just tried it, sits at the Samsung screen.
EI22, rooted, CWM 4 if it makes a difference (I know the OP says 3.x)

All that I have tested this on is CWM3 purple and stock rooted EI22.
The kitchen's website says:
"Flash your downloaded zip in recovery.
Zips are compatible with Clockworkmod 3"
Maybe clearing caches and dalvik will help?
I don't know how using CWM 4 will affect the results, perhaps that's be why it didn't work for you. Hopefully you have a nandroid backup.

I tried, no dice. Thanks either way
You made my day!
I'm gonna use this framework as a base for an odexed theme. So I can have the CRT off mod.
