I am missing my keyboard microphone and the ability to recognize speech. How does one go about adding this? Currently running Gingerbread CM7-Nightly 6 however I've had this problem before so I would like to know how to add it to any ROM that might not have it. Thanks in advance!
Did you install voice search with gapps? If so enable from options.
I installed voice search 2.1 and still no dice. It just FC when I try and open it. Also in options for voice there is only TTS options. Nothing as far as enabling google voice options. Not sure what to do next.

Hi,
Is there any way to get offline voice recognition working on the IncS for Google Now? I've searched around and apparently there's meant to be a download available on the "voice" section of the settings, but it's not there; all I see is Language, Speech output, Block offensive words and Bluetooth headset.
Is there anyway to manually install the offline voice recognition files so I can text, search my music, etc using Google Now Search?
EDIT: Forgot to add I'm running CyanVivo 10.1, rooted
Thanks

i did an update via pc companion to .244.
now it seems that the voice input icon on the keyboard is gone. in the keyboard settings, the option is checked. furthermore, i can't even uncheck it.
is there any way to get voice input back? or is it gone with the new firmware? the voice input has been quite usefull when typing sms while walking.
thanks for your help!

Don't worry, its not gone. Try flashing Latest Gapps Package and a new Keyboard mod like honami keyboard or xperia keyboard via recovery, that will fix it for sure, if it does not, then next time before updating/reinstalling the firmware, backup and factory reset your device first. :good:
Maybe you deleted Google Search app? Voice input is integrated in this app.

thanks! that's it! google search has been deactivated. once i activated it, the microphone icon on the keyboard reappeared!
I recently got a HTC One and installed the Elegancia ROM. I noticed that the Google keyboard no longer shows a voice input key, though it's enabled in the settings. Does this feature work for anybody? If so, what ROM and Android version are you using? Thanks!
Edit: I found the problem. "Google Voice Input" is a separate IME that needs to be enabled in Settings->Language and Input.
I upgraded the S21 ultra to Samsung 12.
When I did it wouldn't let me use siwftkey keyboard, voice typing, and I lost the google voice features.
I played with every in language input I could find. Nothing worked.
I went to apps and I uninstalled Google back to factory settings. Then everything worked fine. I even turned off Google updates in play store so I can use voice typing and bluetooth voice dial.
Overnight for whatever reason it all stopped working again. I updated Google, it didn't work, and then uninstalled it again and it worked.
There has to be some trick I am not figuring out because it should work without having to uninstall Google. Any advice would be appreciated.
use other keyboards for now
It did the same for the Samsung keyboard.
I don't think it is a keyboard issue. I think it is something with Google. I'm far from an expert but that's what it seems. I just don't know the work around.
Am I lucky to not have received the update yet? Anyway, I would troubleshoot this by doing a backup first. Then trying to use Safe mode.
Maybe even go back into recovery and clear the cache.
The end game would be a factory reset.
That's if you're impatient like me.
I restarted the phone and everything is now normal

I am having the exact issue after the update to Android 12. Microphone works on calls but "hey Google" does not respond, voice recorder doesnt hear my voice, keyboard voice input doesnt work. Did a factory reset still no luck. Checked "speech services by google" and it is enabled.....What to do? If I could get into the secret menu and check my microphones (I understand there are 3 of them) I would but no secret codes seem to work. Help!

I won't "take advantage" of the update yet, every other post reflects users having issues with Android 12 One UI 4.0. No excuse for releasing this version with so many glitches.

Try using the diagnostic test. It's under. Battery and device care. It tests all sensors and stuff.
thank you so much!! I never saw that area! It confirmed that mic1 is not working.
