Android market vs apple app store.

Today i was looking at the market and realized. Why doesn't the android market have really good games like the apple app store? I have an iPod touch and I use that like my gaming/music device and my phone as a social device?
Anyway I got tired of having to carry both so I got the question of why android doesn't have so many good games..
Is android not that popular right now?
Really good apple app store games I like are stuff like real racing 2, Madden NFL 2011, and etc.... is android going to gets these soon?

it will depend how popular android will be. i believe more games will be on android platform, just matter of time.

The problem is that with android, developers can now run their own markets instead of having to rely on android market for distribution. That means You'll have to go to each developer (Gameloft, EA, etc) and buy from them directly. It sucks that games Real Racing 2 and Dead Space aren't on android yet, but stuff like GT Academy, Dungeon Defenders, and HAWX will tide you over till the big AAA titles finally get ported.
Edit: At least we get Angry Birds for free

One other factor could be that Android fans don't fork out cash like Apple fans do. Android fans persistently pursue free solutions where Apple fans might give in easier.
Free is what XDA has been all about for years. I have never paid for an app out of my pocket.

Whenever I go to the ea website it says there are no games for your phone. Is this because I'm running a gt i9000 rom?

1. buy it on pc
2. buy an iphone or an android phone
3. install android on your x1
EDIT: I really don't understand why everybody desperately wants angry birds. jeeeeez - it's not that good after all

Maybe they just want to try the game...Angry Birds is too popular now

Don't worry, now it is possible to play angry bird from your x1. Just add "0" behind your x1, then you can play angry bird

You could install Angry birds on Android, but, on your X1 you could get max 60% speed of real game (sound OFF, background OFF), then for me it's not really playable :-(

Hi,
Just so you know... The Paper Toss game you mention / list is NOT made by the original makers of the iPhone / Android Papertoss game. This is made by an independent developer "Herms Software" and the original is made by "Backflip Studios".
Although the "Herms Software" version is pretty good you should be careful what you state as the original has WAY more than 3 levels and is graphically superior. Also... Backflip Studios may get upset that you are stating there app is available for an OS that it is not compatable with.

Must Haves:
AlphaJax (scrabble, words with friends).
Full House Poker. brand new Xbox Live title with fullish integration with Xbox 360 title of the same name. And it's an avatar game.
Flight Control. Another Live title. Good times.

It's $2.99, which isn't bad compared to most xbox live games. True it is free on Android (with ads), but I'm fine with the price. Hopefully we get all the add ons & extra levels without having to pay more though. But I haven't been able to stop playing it since I got it, lol. Love having live achievements too.

Does not work on my HD2. Black screen after start of the game and then it goes back to games hub... Anyone having the same problem on HD2?

same problem.

I had that problem for a couple tries, but was due to it being plugged into my xbox to charge. Once I unplugged, no problems.
Were you trying to play it while syncing/charging to your pc? Might be the problem.

nope... no matter what - it starts, screen goes black, then exits.....

I tried it out.. it's fine, although it doesn't seem as smooth and multitouch doesn't work?

works with hd20 1.14, try that rom

I tried it & its not as fluid as on any Android or WM6.5, plus pinch to zoom is hap-hazard.
Maybe its WP7 thats monging? Unless it works great on a true WP7.

If you're using WP7 on HD2, you should know that the multitouch is bugged, no matter in whatever application, from browser to Angry Birds. So I don't think it's Angry Birds' problem, should be because the issue with multitouch in HD2 WP7 is not fixed yet.

I am kind of regret that I got the HTC Windows 7 phone. Now I can't use any of the old apps like spacetime, tomtom from my windows 6.5 mobile since I won't be able to install the cabs on the Windows 7 phone. This sucks so bad. How could Microsoft do this?
I see that Garmin came out with a Garmin Streetpilot GPS in the market place for $38.99.
I don't want to buy it until I know what I am buying.
Will I be able to use the Garmin Streetpilot GSPS on my HtC surround 7 phone if I don't have 3G/Edge? I don't want to pay $50 for a data plan every month.
Can I download the maps and everything else via wifi and GPS will work on the road since I can't connect to the internet on the road with wifi?

Multiplayer apps that work with IOS

I'm looking for apps/games that can be played cross platform with an IOS device. Since a friend as an iPhone I was wondering if there are any apps that could do this?

Words With Friends- off the top of my head. Of course the Android version is the red-headed step child of the favored (by Zanga) almighty iDevice version. They don't even offer a paid version for Android version so we get bloated up with ads.
I'll be following this thread too as I would like to see/learn about more cross platform MP games.

I think one or more of the MMO's available is multiplatform. But who wants to play one of those?

Correction on Words With Friends- they do now offer an ad-free version but you have to buy "Zynga points" or some silliness with your credit card, in-app- meaning, you cannot download a paid ad-free app from any app market- unlike the iVersion.

HomerunBattle 3D is one that works for sure (online matchups) as for multiplayer lan games I'd think all the gameloft games that have mp (asphalt,uno,...) should work just fine.

The muffin Knight. Never tried cross platform but it claims to work. Not the best game ever but might be fun for you.
