How do I get rid of the "Battery 100%" notifications? - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I upgraded to official ATT Froyo yesterday, and was hoping that they were going to give you an option to turn off the "battery full" notification bar symbol, pop-up notification, and sound alert, but they did not unfortunately. Is there an app, or script I can run that will turn these notifications off? It's driving me crazy.

I asked the same question earlier. No responses though. I'm hoping you have better luck than me!

Try this and let me know if this helps. Try first one, check it out, and then the second one if the first one isn't successful.
Trial 1:
Set the global notifications to SILENT.
Trial 2:
Set the global notifications to SILENT.
Set the notification on Gmail to any ringtone, NOT DEFAULT.
Set the notification on messaging to any ringtone, NOT DEFAULT.

how to turn off the alarm

Hi all,
I had a problem last night where i was testing out the alarm feature. It went off and a small dialogue box popped up and the left button stated 'dismiss', i clicked somewhere other than those areas and then the alarm bell icon went away and the alarm had entered snooze mode - it kept going off every minute or something and there was no way to turn it off.
can anyone shed some light on this if the icon disappears?
also how can i change the alarm tone? going into the sounds and notifications option i get:
''Enable sounds for:
- Events
- Programs:
--Notifications (alarms, reminders)
- Screen taps
- Hardware buttons''
on the second tab called notifications
theres options for ''Event'' allowing to choose an event to assign a sound for it. Theres no Even called alarm or notification but there is one for Reminders. I changed the reminders tone but still that didnt change the alarm tone that went off.
seems the alarm hasnt had much focus during implementation.
thanks,
simba
Change the alarm tone directly on the Clock & Alarms screen. Just tap the little yellow bell thing.
perfect thanks! i didnt know the wee bells were selectable for more features.
anyone else know the solution to the other query?

Getting rid of the Voicemail notification and ring

So any ROM I run that isn't sense, like CM6 or DS 2.8, I get this terrible, annoying, loud ringtone every time the phone starts. It thinks I have three unread voicemails (I have none) and constantly bugs me about it.
It's starting to drive me nuts, and I'm considering going back to Sense rom because they do not have this issue. I just want the notification to go away, but there is no option for it anywhere in the call/voicemail settings.
I need this to end before I chuck my phone out a window.
Default notification sound, change it lol.
Also turn off SD card notifications, that's the one that really pesters me...
Doesn't do it. This is a ringer separate of my notification sound. Trust me, I get other notifications; I would change it to a sound of my liking if I could. I basically ransacked the options menu, this "feature" isn't listed anywhere.
Any luck?
I know this is a bit outdated, but did you ever find a solution to your problem?
I have a rooted Samsung Fascinate and whenever I get a new voicemail I get this constant ringing until I check it. It's not the same sound as the normal ringtone or notifications. I can't find any settings anywhere that can adjust it.
So far you're the only one I found with the same issue.

Is there a way to turn off alerts/alarms coming from the S planner?

Is there a way to turn off alerts/alarms coming from the S planner?
I'm planning on using Calengoo.
Won't the alerts double? One coming from S-planner and the other coming from Calengoo?
I cannot turn of the calendars in S planner as Calengoo seems to need it to be able to get calendar data from my google account (I don't want to give Calengoo my login details, thus it is syncing from my Android device which is syncing to my Google Account)
Thanks for what enlightenment you guys can give.
I, too, would love some advice on this issue. Just using Outlook and the S Calendar. What I would like to do is to turn off the spoken notifications but still receive an event notification in the notification bar. And I still want the phone to ring.
What about "Set alarms and notifications" option in s planner options accessible after pressing menu key? I can set "Alarm", "Notification", "Disabled". There is another menu entry for vibration...
Thanks. But the problem with choosing to disable it is that I no longer receive any notification. I would like a notice in the notification bar - I just don't want my notification bar speaking. I tried changing the notification sound volume to zero. That worked to silence notifications about texts (but I still get the vibrate). But my calender still speaks.
Well, I found a fix for my problem, but it won't help the OP. Turns out the phone was in driving mode and that overrode application settings.

Notification prefernces overridden by app

Hello guys. I'm new on this brilliant device.
I am trying to receive only icon notification on the status bar for the telegram app. I go in the notification preferences of the phone and set everything as it should but as soon as I receive a telegram message the settings I had selected are overridden and I am back to scratch. I am trying to get rid of pop up banner notifications and lockscreen notifications but I can't manage to achieve my goal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Same thing for me, i think the phone is not saving settings for notifications and after 12-24 hours (even without reboot) these settings revert back to default... (especially the pop-up one)
I'm having the same issue with Kik Messenger. Turn some notification settings off and 12 or so hours later they are all back on. Really annoying.
I'm having the same with some apps. For instance, Yahoo Mail app keeps turning vibrate on even though I keep turning it off.

Notification sound with no notification

I keep getting a notification sound at random intervals but there is no notification. I have tried disabling NFC and notification reminders per googles suggestions but that hasn't helped. I downloaded Notification Log History but it only shows actual notifications I am receiving not the ones I don't see. Any ideas?
I got those sounds until I turned off Notification Reminder.
You can have notifications turned on, but turn off the reminder.
Ok I finally figured it out. I had notifications disabled for 115 out of 132 of my apps through the settings menu. I went back, enabled all notifications to see what was going off all the time. Turns out I was getting numerous alerts from Tapatalk and Slickdeals. I went into both apps and disabled notifications through the actual app settings and my issues went away. Not sure why the apps override what I'm doing in the phone settings but they were. Hopefully in the future this helps others. In short, enable all apps in the phone settings and see what's notifying you. Go into those apps and disable notifications within the app.
