What kernel is this based on? My hope is he's recompiling the (I think 2.6.35?) kernel native to Gingerbread, rather than the other ROM's which have been using a variation on the original LG 2.6.29 kernel. If so, I'd hope we can port that kernel over to CM7.

As you can see on one of the screenshots, this is still kenrel 2.6.29. A few russian are making kernel 2.6.35 http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=215440

Cool, I'll try it when it has more functions working.

I will get this version as soon as more things are improved.I liked the CM7 version but the battery problem caused too much problems for me.I hope this version will get improved as soon as possible.
Keep up the good work!
I'll try it
Glad to know that enybody else try tot do something with our phone.
But I dont undrstand what is benefit of original android. But as alternative that cool to see a difference between stuf. Would be cool if someone third try to make a CAF version. I think it has a more perfomanse responsibilities and many impruvements.
Keep up the work, good luck.

Agree. Amazing really, especially considering how old the hardware is, not supporting flash, etc. At least with 2.3 we have some hope of using some of the newer apps.

Good if its easy but just like compiling kernels on linux, newer kernels cause some big headaches with drivers. I'd rather have the older kernel and have it working correctly then wait for the newer kernel to function properly.
Anything in the newer kernel that we need/want?
First of all yes this is an advantage of having 2.3.1 aswell but its hard to put in words.
second can i ask when would it be updated to the latest 2.3.3 from aosp?
third i got the phone on 28 sept 2010 and on that day was my birthday and also on that day joestone released the rootgt540!
look at the progress of openetna and you will realise that we will get new kernels, just that we need to establish a fully working rom first.
what is CAF?

This ROM is in early stages of development. Not much works. It takes a while for it to boot the first time, just wait, it will though. When it does finally turn on, don't worry if the screen seems extremely glitchy, it is, you aren't just seeing things and it isn't only your phone. Things that are and aren't working are posted below. Feel free to send me a message if you can help out with anything that isn't working, seeing as I'm only a Junior in high-school, it would be great if this could be more of a community project. If you have any issues, just ask a question and I'll try to answer as soon as possible.

That's what's nice about the running on an AOSP kernel. Hopefully a working GB kernel will help boot the GB Blur.
Just did a little editing, gonna flash and see if I fixed or made any progress in the graphics.
EDIT: Forgot to sign it before installing -.- I'll try again tomorrow, I'm getting tired. Peace out! Till tomorrow of course.
Did you have permission from the original devs? I don't think so. I understand Jdkoreclipse is not a member here but there were others that were involved including myself. It is not wise to release something you did not ask permission for and obviously did not know what was put into it.
who would want moto blur on an HTC phone. THATS WHY WE BUY HTC.. SENSE FTW!!! SKYRAIDER 4.0 check it out!
No development being maintained also working with the original developers to verify credit is needed. PM me OP if you have any problems. Closing thread for now, also DO NOT create a new thread.
Putting this up for those who've been inquiring...I simply integrated bits & pieces for the legend to improve what is already an awesome rom. I take no credit for this. Doesn't hurt to hit the thanks button though if this helps .

How's this different from CM7?
2.6.35 kernel (boots by default to 768/256-interactive; max=806, min=120)
smartass & smartass2 governors
compache/swap
deodexed & zip-aligned
tweaks for deodexed rom and sd read-ahead (3072 by default)
removed rom manager & some default themes/wallpapers
moved file manager to /data/app
modified lock screen icons
flying-in menu animations
TGF's notification bar (notbar) patch integrated
What doesn't work/untested?
wifi tethering - activating them produces an error & breaks wife, in which case, a reboot is required
gps
Is this faster than CM?
can't claim that as i don't see a big jump in quad/linpack scores, though there are improvements & it does feel snappier (I may be biased though). you decide...

The drowningkernel-8-9-1_mod.zip works fine with CM7.1.0 for me. THX a lot!
I like your lockscreen-icons and the statusbar-patch, but not the flying-in-animation, so I flashed the non-modified one.
What governors do you prefer? I'm using interactive, but never had a smartass/smartass2 kernel on my phone. Does one of these two give me advantages over interactive?
Or can you give me some details about smartass/smartass2 Min-Max-values for the legend?
I have constant cpu usage of 50-75% with this rom :-(

you could learn more about it here. i'm using 806/122-smartass2. if you try to underclock below stock 245, it seems only the smartass governors give a quick response from sleep.

Just a small comment regarding kernel 2.6.35:
In my tests 2.6.35 was not significantly (or at all) faster than .32, neither could I observe improved battery life.
What actually held us back implementing .35 were the crappy WLAN and missing access point drivers. The sources HTC released are significantly broken - even for their original target "Espresso", and this is still a clear violation of the GPL (the sources they used to compile tiwlan_drv for Espresso/Legend are not at all equivalent to what they released).
That being said, if you don't care about WLAN at all you can use 2.6.35. I seriously wouldn't recommend that kernel though and would request you to add a warning to your post to make sure people don't start to complain about random reboots in CyanogenMod.
Thanks man, looks great will test it soon.

What he wants to say is that, if you deodex rom, there is more space used in system since instead of having apk+odex as separate files you put the odex inside the apk thus ocuppying more space. So for a deodexed ROM you have less space remaining.
Of course since most of us are using some sort of data2ext this is no big deal, I just wanted to "translate"

BTW Radio has nothing to do with wifi.
Edit : Plus my radio is up to date !
Edit Plus : I tried this rom (K.35) and official 7.1 Rom (K.32) and i found that the both kernels have the same issue, being on K32 or K35 is the same thing for me, i got the same random crashes, which was not the same thing on the old RC1 (which just sometimes crashes when you just power on wifi with sync enabled).
Too bad, Cyanogen 7.1 passed "stable" with this bug.
^ have you tried this, bro?
Info:
I decided to play around with Android Kitchen and ended up crossing my two favorite ROMs together: Mik's CM7 Port and knzo's #voidforever. I am pleased with the end result, and decided I would share it with the community, for whomever who might want to try it. This was my first try at a ROM and I did it in a few hours, so excuse me for bugs I might have not found. But I always appriciate feedback =P
More detailed description:
When it comes to a more detailed description, I would have to say that the core framework is from Mik's CM7, but I initially crossed over the app folder from #void-forever to obtain a light ROM that is highly customizable and then I made the necessary adjustments to make it stable aswell (initially running the GB 2.3.4 SystemUI on the 2.3.7 framework didn't go that well xD). The advantage of crossing them over is that, you can have Mik's CM7, but then you build it to be as you want it to be (as you did with #void roms). I wouldn't say that it's Mik's CM7 that wins from the exchange, but rather #void, since this is built to be more #void-like, kind of an update to #void removing the bugs that it had from CM7 at the time and updating it to GB 2.3.7.

Also do you have the apps from Mik_os or just the framework, as things like fm is also missing from #void.
It would be helpful for members to have a more specific detailed difference list.

When it comes to a more detailed description, I would have to say that the core framework is from Mik's CM7, but I initially crossed over the app folder from #void-forever to obtain a light ROM that is highly customizable. That's the advantage of crossing them over, you can have Mik's CM7, but then you build it to be as you want it to be (as you did with #void roms). I wouldn't say that it's Mik's CM7 that wins from the exchange, but rather #void, since this is built to be more #void-like, kind of an update to #void removing the bugs that it had from CM7 at the time and updating it to GB 2.3.7.
Really don't know what else to say, that's pretty much all that it is xD
I was planning to work on it a little more today, but unfortunately I'm having issues with my usual Linux distro of choice (Ubuntu) so I need to choose an alternative -.-
Regards
I would recommend putting on thread title "for .32 kernel only " or something else..
Thanks for letting me know.
In reply to your PM: yea, it's fine, use and abuse it.

I'll do it later today (about 8/9PM GMT) because I have to go get a cat, and I'm getting my laptop up-and-running with Linux Mint 11
Finally #void is back. Thanks for your efforts

what do you think about this rom?

I never used void before. What are the differences between this and CM7?

when i go to the market i can't uninstall the adw launcher. where it's supposed to say you can open or uninstall the app (or update if it hasn't been updated since the most recent update) it's just blank.
Excellent work! I'll waiting for the addon package!
What can I say, it's Awesome! I was planning to make someting similar like this, but I can see someone was faster. Well, I saw this and as Mik's CyanogenMod has lot's of crap (no offence mik, your rom is good but ..) in it, so why not to try. Only thing, I don't like about your rom, it uses ADW as default Launcher, I deleted original ADW from /system/app and replaced it with (in my opinion) better LauncherPro. I would recommend to use Zeam Launcher as default but latest versions of Zeam are slower and lagging more.
I hope my english is readable and understandable.

Kernels
The same custom kernel used in AOKP ROMs now available to use in all AOSP based ROMs. (AOKP, CM10, ParanoidAndroid) Will not work with stock Touchwiz based ROMs!!
These use the anykernel flash method so it creates a new boot.img on the fly. It will not interfere with any customizations that may be in your current boot.img's ramdisk.

Among the many updates and fixes in Build-4 we have a new kernel. Keeping the trend alive we have yet another first for our Tablets. Voltage Control!! You can use Performance Settings in ROM Control to set voltages, SetCPU and a few other apps available on the market work as well. NOTE don't set any voltages at boot until you are once again 1000% sure your device is stable. It's pretty safe to UV 1GHz and below, just use small 25mv steps to begin with. 1.2GHz is close on most devices, speeds above that I wouldn't mess with too much. Remember all devices are different, so there aren't any magic voltages that will make you want to throw away your charger. Use common sense and have fun tinkering.
New kernel AOKP_p31xx_1-52GHz_v2-2.zip posted..
9/21/2012
I've built and uploaded a new kernel that includes a few more OC options. Configured now are 1.2GHz, 1.35GHz, 1.42GHz, 1.48GHz, and 1.52GHz. There have been a few other tweaks made that all add up to FAST. Remember your device may not be able to handle the same speeds as someone else's. Don't cry or feel bad, it's just the hardware luck of the draw. Just like people, there are some freaks out there. The new kernels have 1-52GHz in the file name. Now go forth and flash!!
9/17/2012
New Another overclock option!
New Semi-Nightly Sept. 16/17 builds now include a 1.42GHz step. Kernel still safe boots to 1.2GHz and you can use built-in Performance settings or SetCPU to OC. I wouldn't recommend using "set at boot" until you're 1000% sure your device is stable at 1.42GHz.
Working Samsung keyboard dock
While not all the special keys work it's a start
On the fly GPU Overclocking
Another first for our tabs! Based on imoseyon's Tuna kernel work. To change speeds simply edit /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/gpu_oc. Values are as follows: 0 = 307MHz 1 = 384MHz 2 = 512MHZ
On top of the built in 1.42GHz overclock the tab runs really well. Be mindful the higher GPU freqs will cause an increase in heat production. The values will revert back to 0 (307MHz) on boot. So if you find your tab locked up or acting odd at a higher clock speed just reboot it. On the other side of that you'll need to change the value every time you boot the tablet.
Some nenamark2 scores to illustrate the GPU overclocking...
Value 0 = 307MHz
Value 1 = 384MHz
Value 2 = 512MHz
Thanks everyone for following my AOKP thread. Its now time to pass it on..

What serial number? I don't think you're using the right terminology. A serial number is an unchangeable hardware number attached to your device and no way related to software.

Xcelerate™ Custom Kernel, Kernel for the YU Yureka
Contributors

Kernel Special Features:
Version Information
Status: Stable
Current Stable Version: Production build 4
Stable Release Date: 2015-04-11
Created 2015-02-16
Last Updated 2015-04-11
Reserved
Short Credit list:
DooMLoRD for assisting in the compilation
Rohan Joshi, Prithvi Raju and Raj Gopi for testing
Cyanogen
ARM
Short Feature list:
Basic Governors(I won't add Ripoffs)
Built using my own GCC 4.9.x Toolchain(with fixes specifically Aimed at Cortex A53 erratas) built across the standards of Google's own Toolchain..
Simple and no fancy stuff..(more does not guarantee it's better)
Uses a simple free and user friendly application called Synapse by @AndreiLux for configuration purposes(slightly adding more functionality)
A few Notes:
Be advised that this kernel is best used "As is" i do want to prohibit the use of scripts that they say "enhances performance and battery" just use the kernel as it is..everything is managed automatically by the kernel and rest assured continuous innovations are en-route.
**Camera might be broke on OLDER CM11 and UNOFFICIAL BUILDS since this is built using the latest source from Cyanogen use this FIX
Compatibility list:
According to testers/users feedback the Kernel works on the FOLLOWING ROMS(tested)
CyanogenMod 11(Stable)
The list will grow as soon as Testers/Users can provide means and ways to make this compatible with everything..

Nice work mate :good:
BTW could have been much better if u could just left cm commits on git
so would have been easier for other devs to track earlier parent commit changes Rather than using : initial dump of Yureka source from CM snapshot 2-13-2015
Anyways no problems .....
Proud to be tester of this kernel..
working amazingly..
charging speed is double than before now..
also smoothness is awesome, thanks bro..
in call battery drain is dramatically reduced from 12% / hr to 6% / h..
will seek for further features..
does it shutdown cores when low usage ???
Not a fan of Custom Kernels, but...
but, yeah, but for the first time 'll be trying this (don't know why but I have this voice inside of me that's compelling me to try this out), hope everything goes well, will edit to share my experiences once I've used it for a couple of days, till then, thanks for this and appreciations for your efforts.
more governors please?
Thanks a lot! I had been waiting for this kind of a custom kernel!
hey, could you add smartassv2 governor to the kernel?
*downloading the kernel as i type*
Cheers!

Flash the updated kernel I have posted, it includes the libs, then flash xcelerate kernel, camera should work.
Op can add those libs.
No UCI support detected !
Damn ! OP enlighten me on this error when I try to open Synapse.
I'm rooted, I have the stock room that came with the cell, the ago had superuser permissions, but still I'm not able to get that app to work. Did a normal flash, booted into recovery, selected the zip that I downloaded and record again.
Googled for the error, found a post in which a guy having Xiaomi had the exact same problem, there you our someone suggested to flash normally, so that's kinda what I did, what m I missing ??

EDIT:
I'm still looking for testers if someone is interested in hitting up to the task well you can find me on Hangouts via [email protected]

I saw ur post regarding that, but I may not have mentioned this but I'm not so good in technical side of android. Being a java developer I never bothered about them but for the past few days I'm actually inclined towards learning android development too, say just as an additional hobby, and to my surprise it's Java too.
Now that I have already flashed the kernel, I can be of some use for sure, but conditions apply. I am not available all ( I can update you on a daily basis in between 10-11 pm IST, and on weekends if that's ok with you) the time and someone will have to guide me or provide info on what I'm supposed to do, coz I have no idea what needs to be done while testing a kernel.
