I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know if you blacklist a number, can it be un-blacklisted?
Again, i cant seem to figure it out.
You can..go to Settings > All Calls > Auto Reject > Auto Reject list

If you black listed it with handcent then you will need to use handcent to remove it as long as it gives you the option

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but I tried looking thru the entire forum and couldn't find anything similar.
Here's the scenario. I downloaded the AKU3.2 from the xda-dev ftp site and tried to cook my own ROM, its combined with the Radio ROM 2.47.xx and my own custom Extended ROM. There were no problems in cooking nd flashing the ROM to my device, and everything runs fine, very fast in fact.
The push email and MMS messaging functions are also operational, the only real problem is in the SMS functionality. I cant send and receive any SMS.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix to it?
Thanks in advance.
[Cingular Settings]... You didn't specify what provider this should lead you in the right direction though.
Open Phone >> Menu >> Options >> Services (tab) >> Voicemail and Text Messaging >> Get Settings... (Button) >> Text Message service Center: +1 (312) 314-9810, Voicemail: +1 (401) 580-0680
I'm in New England, I don't believe these settings are regional. I believe they are national settings for Cingluar. Check with your provider or check for these settings on another phone you have for these settings.

I already have this set, in fact it pulls the information straight from the SIM card, and I have verified that it is the same Message Center number that works in the stock ROMs.
Any other ideas?
I found the problem, its one of the CABs that auto-install in the custom Extended ROM, specifically the custom vCard Plugin I use. Apparently it conflicts with the SMS send and receive in AKU3.2. This was running fine under AKU1 and AKU2, a bit of a disappointment since it allowed me to send and receive vCards via SMS instead of MMS, oh well....
@TBCompDesign: Thanks for the input.
I believe AKU3 introduced sending vcards via sms, so you shouldn't need any extras

I remember when I had issues upgrading my ROMS on my first PDA Phone, the Original XDA, I came here and everyone then was more than helpful...
I finally ordered my phone so I am anxiously waiting for delivery.
I was wondering as I couldn't find any info in the manual nor on this forum...does the phone have a built in feature to make the out-going call private or hide number?
I know the GSM code #31# but I know some phones have the feature to always do this on calls or individual calls.
If there is no feature, is there a 3rd party app?
Thank you in advance.
So much to learn here...
there's an option in the phone settings to turn off outbound caller id.

Excellent...thanks!
of course I reject all incoming calls that have caller ID turned off to keep the telemarketers away. Just something to keep in mind if you have some tech savvy friends who do the same.

"Only to contacts" is broken. You still need to dial *82 or whatever; it's not automatic.

Thanks.
*31# shows the ID as all my friends' numbers in Contact has that in front of the phone number. I've been using it for years on my other phones.
Hopefully *31# will override the HTC "caller id to no one" setting.
There are just too many customers that I call that I do not want them to have my cell number. If they reject my call then we'll play voicemail tag
Thanks for all the replies. I can't wait to get my new phone!
i call *31# now can not call anyone ?!!
can somebody tell me why when i recieve a text the sound doesnt play(i have at&t notify as my text tone)..and in the chat the letters are really small,is there a way to fix that??
i figured out the sound issue but does anybody know how to make the text bigger??
this should do the trick for you:
Start > Settings >
>
click on "System" tab
>
click the "Screen" incon
>
clcik the "text size" tab
>
set to a size you like
that should be it.
thanks alot,that worked.
No Problem.
I know I had recently seen it, but I had to play with my phone for a bit to find exactly where.
Glad I could help...
any one know how to make the delivery reports a permanent thing in stead of manually ticking the box every time i send an sms?
many thanks in advance
Sure -
(deep breath...)
Start > Programs > Messaging > Menu > Tools > Options > SMS/MMS > Request delivery notifications

i get as far as programs then there is no messaging in there unless im not seeing something on my htc
just use one of the advance configuration utilities found on this forum. you'll find the option you are looking for there
Like me, you don't have the messaging shortcut in programs... not to worry.
On the home screen, tap the Messages icon, then tap 'All Messages'. Here, you can pick up the route described by MJNewton above, by going 'Menu', then 'Tools', then 'Options', and finally tapping the SMS\MMS account, where you'll get the tick box you require.
many thanks for your replies found the option now

If it's not in the programs menu, then it's in the start menu. On windows mobile devices, a program cannot be in both places at once, unless you create a duplicate icon yourself.
I have skype and when I went to dial someone, it would ask which program I wanted to use, either the built in dialer or use skype. I decided to make skype my primary dialer, but now I can't for the life of me turn this off so I can again have the option to choose either the regular dialer or skype. Any help??
Thank you!!!!

Thanks for your help with this post. What if I want to have skype be one of my choices for dialing from the native dialer? where do I go to make that happen?

If it can be done, you would do it from the same place but by clearing the defaults for Dialer. Whether this will work or not will depend on whether skype considers itself a dialer replacement or not, which I don't know. If clearing the defaults doesn't work, I don't believe you can make it work the way you want.
I can't click on "Clear defaults", it's grey. It says "no defaults set". Any ideas what I can do now?

If you're using a dialer replacement (like GoDialer or Dialer One), you would need to clear it in whichever one is currently the default. If you are using the default dialer and it is still grayed out, I don't believe you can do what you're looking to do. I am not a developer by any means so my explanation may be a bit off, but the end result is the same: it depends on how Skype was coded. If Skype wasn't written by the developer to consider itself a dialer app, it's not going to show up as a choice when you click on the dialer.
Think of it this way: If you install an SMS replacement app, it "knows" that it can handle requests for sending text messages so it will pop up in the menu any time you do anything that involves sending one. You won't get the choice to pick it for sending an email, however, because the program wasn't coded to consider itself an email app. In the same way, Skype is only going to be a choice for the dialer if it was programmed to handle dialer requests.
I hope this makes sense, if not maybe someone else could elaborate.

Thank you,yes it makes perfect sense. What I failed to say in my post is that the phone used to give me the option of dialing with mobile network/google voice/groove ip/skype when all these were set to "ask everytime I make a call" (not all of these, actually just google voice and groove ip, the other two don't have that option) I have rooted the phone and started using skype again. And now I don't get the skype option, even though I do get the other options.
