I use exchange as my primary email app and there doesn't appear to be any search functionality even the email client looks a hell of a lot like outlook in honeycomb. Am I just missing the search feature or is there a better exhange client available?

For whatever reason, Google has never put a search function in their stock email app. You'll have to use touchdown or your company's web mail portal for searching.

Use touchdown, the new one in the Market is designed for honeycomb and looks just like the Google mail app. Has full search even server search.

Has anyone tried the new Kaiten Mail app by the Creator of K-9 mail. It is suppose to be for tablets and HD phones. I thought it was in beta, but it is in the Amazon App store for $5.

Looks nice just did not know it was even out yet.
I just bought it and its fantastic. Got my Gmail/yahoo/live accounts set up. Interface is set up nicely as this is aimed for tabs. Plenty of features. By far the best email app I've tried. I've tried just about all of them out there. Well worth the 5 bucks.
Thanks for letting me know. I have always liked K-9 so this is something I was looking forward to.
Wow this has instantly become my favorite email app for the gtab. The layout is excellent and makes effecient use of screen real estate. At the same time it has all the configuration that k-9 has unlike the client from NI. I have not had any DC yet. So far so good.
This might be a dumb question but will this client work for MS Exchange email accounts?
Anyone know how to select a default email account? Its always starts out displaying all the accounts. I want to open it, and it start on gmail. I've looked in in the settings to no avail! Thanks!
Found it! I kept reading over it.
Just got it today, very nice.
Anyone know how to setup more than one Google account? I have one Gmail account then my work email is a Google app account (cloudtrigger.com). When I try to set it up I con only choose from imap, pop3 or exchange...none of them work.

How do I setup a yahoo account?
It works ok with my gmail account and my ISP's IMAP account, but I can see my yahoo email but can't send from it. How do I set up a yahoo mail account?
Thanks!
Its been over 2 months I cannot login to yhaoo mail using android mobile stock browser, I have tried firefox/opera/ dolphin hd browser they all have the same problem with yahoo mail.
The URL it goes to is http://mlogin.yahoo.com, I have tried changing the browser agent from android to desktop but that too does not help, where as i can longin from my desktop computer without any issues.
Rest all of other email services are working on mobile like hotmail/gmail/rediffmail etc.
I can only check yahoo mail with the yahoo app & I dont like it at all to use separate app for checking mail. I want dolphin hd my main browser for all the things.
Anyone else having such problem?
Any help regarding this problem, are you guys having no such problem with yahoo login?
I use the app because yahoo is so picky otherwise

Why don't you try application from yahoo for accessing the yahoo mail. I have configured my gmail to auto retrieve the yahoo mails. So I don't have to enter yahoo, its right thee in gmail inbox. Its my secondary mail id.

bcoz i hate those apps, each one for each email a/c I rather use dolphin hd browser for every thing (i dont want push mail feature) another reason is that I need to enlarge the font while reading & these email apps dont let you do it.
Dolphin hd works so smooth for almost everything but for some reason it seems yahoo is blocking me to login using the mobile browser.
i also having this problem..im using archos right now..does anyone manage to solve this?
Skyfire worked for me, when one of my friend wanted to check her yahoo mail last time. Try it if you want.

According to SplashGear, Google will release new GMail app (what version?) that allow multiple sign-in and also have option to sign-out.
I personally think it's great and look forward to see it.
Market still has 2.3.5 as the latest though.

You know this is for the gmail on the web not the actual gmail app. If you look at the picture that you see in the link, you will see its for the website version of gmail.

Google updated its Gmail for mobile browsers today by adding the much desired multiple sign-in feature as well as more settings options. Unlike the desktop version of Gmail, the mobile version has not supported multiple sign-ins for managing more than one email account until now.

Must have been tl;dr

I thought I saw the ability to add multiple accounts in the Android Gmail application. (Gmail 2.3.5) I will have to verify if you can be logged into both accounts simultaneously.

This has been possible for quite some time(have been doing it since I first bought a droid 1.
in the gmail app you go menu>accounts>add account. Both can be set to sync, and you can send mail from either
is google gonna ever give us the option of disabling conversion view or enabling it in their mobile app just as they did with desktop email

Does anyone know of an IMAP email app that is worth using? There seem to be a bunch out there that are all iffy from what I've seen. My college account is IMAP, and I can get the correct configuration settings from them, but first want an app that is actually decent. Paid apps aren't out, but a trial first would be nice, or at least a pretty perfect review.
Thanks!
I use K-9 Mail for my comcast accounts (2 POP3), gmail account (IMAP) and my college email account (IMAP). It is HIGHLY customizable and works great been using it for years.
I just use Gmail. I probably have 6 different emails linked to it. For my college, I just it forward a copy to my primary gmail account. Then again, my college email is gmail based.
Gmail DOES support IMAP and POP.

The built in email app supports imap, I use it for my university. Just go to accounts and add it from there.

I find the built in app to be just fine and it should do IMAP, unless you tried it and are having issues. I use the built in email app for my college, except we use an MS Exchange server and it works fine.
The above two posters have better ideas. My method was to do it all through gmail on my computer and have all my emails linked to my main account, then just have 1 gmail app reading my primary account, but that's sort of a security risk. If someone gets into my primary gmail account, they can see everything.

Slayer621, why not setup 2 factor authentication on your gmail account? Your phone can be a soft-token, that way it will be more secure. When it comes to my University, they want all emails to instructors/staff to go through your main Uni account, so that's why I won't route everything through gmail.

I was looking to do it through the stock email app, but running SD5.1 ICS doesn't have the option to add an email account. I'll look into K9, but I may be heading back to Mav4 GB here soon anyways where there may be a stock email app. Thanks! I'll be back with updates.
Kinda hitting a dead end here. I'm on Mav4 and using the stock email app, I added my email address and pw, then I hit manually configure and entered what I could find from the school (Univ. of Pittsburgh, http://technology.pitt.edu/Document...obile/Mobile Devices and Enterprise Email.pdf), but couldn't get it to work. I'll be trying K9 tomorrow maybe.
Hi Folks,
I've come from a Samsung Galaxy S3 to a new shiny HTC One which was delivered a couple of hours ago. Just getting set up and was wondering whats your preference for email setup. With my company using Google Apps i've always just gone ahead and used Gmail but was wondering if the 'Mail' app was any better?
Regards
Sam
They are both really good, I guess if you have multiple email accounts the mail app is better than the dedicated gmail one because you could easily switch between accounts

I use the Mail app because I have 4 email accounts so easier to manage, I would still use this app if I only had one gmail account tbh, its much cleaner looking.
Gmail definitely. Don't like the native app.
Probably no help but I have been using both the HTC native mail app as well as the Gmail app. Personally I like the look and feel of the native app but I think I have been just to used to running my email accounts on separate apps, hasn't hurt me yet.
