Thanks, works fine.
Anyone notice any differences?
I assume this radio can be flashed to be used on a 2.3.2 ROM?

Yes it can be flashed on 2.3.2. Too early to tell but nothing has exploded yet so that's always a good sign.
after flashing the radio(it flashed fine. much faster then flashing a radio on the N1) i noticed it connected to the network much faster than the old one. also, in the location im at now, data speed more than doubled! it went from 2.5mbps to nearly 6! i hope its that way when i get home too
i flashed it over the latest cm7 kang without any issue.
Thanks for this. Working nicely with CM7.
Seems reception is a little better.
Just curious what's MD5?

It's a hash function to check if the download is intact. A broken download can brick your phone.
Not checking MD5 is like going raw with a chick you picked up at a bar.
Nice to have

The new radio is awesome, I actually get reception in my apartment that's halfway below ground(on a hill), that I never got before. Almost no need for Wi-Fi Calling anymore. Scratch one problem with the phone off my list.
New radio is great. Bluetooth connection is now flawless whereas before it would always drop the media connection to my stereo (I assume the baseband governs the bluetooth radio as well?).
By the way, does anyone have the old radio .zip for 2.3.1? I downgraded to 2.3.1 to get the OTA update to 2.3.3 rather than the update.zip from the forum (in case the yellowy screen was a fault of a flawed update) and now i can't get the OTA because i still have the 2.3.3 baseband (i assume this is the reason i can't get the 2.3.2 OTA being as it has always been available when i was on 2.3.1 in the past.
Thanks in advance.
new radio works great .. i get better speed.. much better upload speed..... nexus always rules...
I feel like the wifi connects faster.

I upgraded my radio to p3droid. Today I flashed a new rom. So I was wondering if my radio gets downgraded back to original after flashing a new rom.
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
Don't honestly know the answer to whether the radio is flashed when flashing a new rom. I would expect since most radio updates appear to be separate update.zips that the rom doesn't upgrade radio. You can check under Settings>About Phone>Baseband Version. The latest I believe is C_01.3E.03P.
The radio does not get touched during a rom flash.
Thanks I noticed after checking original radio in Droid setting info and the version I have now. I forgot what the original version was but got it now. Thanks
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
I do believe the latest radio does require you to have Froyo... the earlier ones should work on any ROM. And the radio can be updated when you flash an update.zip ROM. It just depends on how the Dec has it set up.
The latest is C_01.43.01P - released with FRF84B
The one before that was C_01.41.00R - released with FRF57
And before that was C_01.3E.03P - the one released with 2.1 Eclair (ESE81)

Thanks. The only thing with new radio is it drops down to 1G alot. It sucks because it always seems to do it when I'm doing something important or downloading. Other wise it works much better than the original one I had.

I am currently on stock 2.1. The baseband since the update gives me a lot of issues at home 3g and switching to 1x. The new froyo rom should give me an updated baseband when it comes right? Otherwise I will have to get the previous basebands installed and root my phone?
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
No, I had similar question but when flashing roms it doesn't touch the baseband. I also have that issue mine drops to 1x alot also and is frustrating. But the older ones when I do searches on the internet it take almost 30 seconds for data transfer to start. The latest is quicker at that but the 1x drop is frustrating. To clearify again though the only way the baseband is updated or downgraded is by flashing it through an update zip or ota update. Roms don't affect it.
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
I should also add after flashing a rom, try reprogramming the phone by *228. It seems to help when I have issues after new rom. Also I installed a data disable widget. When it drops to 1x I disable the data connection for a minute or couple seconds and reactivate it usually returns to 3g when it comes back on.

Sprint radios?
How about using a Sprint radio on a Droid. IDK. I just got my Droid in the mail yesterday, got it rooted today and am working on checking out radio upgrades for it. I am coming from an CDMA HTC Hero200 from Sprint and with that phone we could put Verizon radio's and PRL's on them to up the coverage area and get better reception. My last one was a Sprint radio with a Verizon PRL and I had the best reception ever! Just some food for thought. If anybody has any valuable info on this I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
When I press my camera, a notification pops up and says, "cannot connect to camera"..
Anybody know what to do?
Thanks guys...
***Edit: its working guys.. I just re flashed the cm6

Your radio isn't correct for the ROM you're using, or your kernel isn't correct for the camera app you're using.

Well yesterday is when I noticed it.. I flashed a theme. The last time I used my camera was Thursday..
I did a restore, and came back to my original state before I flashed the theme.. still not working.. =/
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Its not hardware
The Problem is not HARDWARE RELATED. i had the exact same problem and suffered for almost a month. there is NO definitive answer on google. ive searched and searched. ive done EVERYTHING from reseating the memory card to flashing weird kernels to applying pressure on the camera. BUT in the end the solution was very easy.
Solution : REVERT YOUR FIRMWARE TO FRF91. TOTAL STOCK and UNROOTED. it installs an old radio version and im almost certain the problem was due to the Radio version . i used AMON RA's latest recovery to do so. wipe EVERYTHING 3 times. and flash the zip. also.. you need to be rooted at first to install the recovery from terminal. if you're new to this recovery/flashing roms.. google it. its fairly simple.
this worked for me miraculously and i do hope it works for you all .
happy to help.
Hello,
can i upragde only the radio fw version ?some people are reporting better battery life with the new baseband fw. And if so, can i flash back the old "downrev" fw back, if i had problems ?
From :
Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31.zip - OLD, standard in 2.1 Roms
to
Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25.zip - NEW in Chinise Froyo 2
I currently have the unrbanded wwe version 1.25.405.1 installed.
This is something I too would be interested to know. I have tried to do some serching but this is the first case I can find regarding the new 2.2 radio from the chinese rom.
I am currently on Puzzlerom 7.3
Once the v8 rom / v8.0.1 is stable I will go to that. Unless we have ourselfs a 2.2 froyo rom out before that. As I use my phone in a variety of ways and in multipule situations, I cant go without it for very long. 2 hrs at a time max.
Hope to be able to test things though ^_^
Peace
Just Made the update trough recovery .now iam running at the 2.1 Rom with the new radio firmware active from the new android 2.2 chinese rom. Actually I see no problems at all

All components are working fine (gsm/umts,wlan,gps and bluetooth).
Only the frst Time GPS FIX takes a bit longer after update.
Also, the battery life seems to be a bit longer and the handy seems
to be more stable during calls with active data connections.
Word of warning, I had trouble with radio version 7.13.35.05 (high pcnt % time without signal)
So this one may not work well with your variant A6363 (900/2100Mhz)
Baseband
47.54.35.20U_7.13.35.13
Bell Eclair rom had version 7.08.35.05, same as the new South Korea KT Froyo rom
Frequencies UMTS 850/1900Mhz (A6365)
Using Amend script (CWM 2.x only)
Radio_47.54.35.20U_7.13.35.13_signed.zip
Has anyone tested?

Tomorrow after one day at work i will report if there are problems.
As System i have CM-7.0-RC4 (No GPS-Problem with this radio version!)
flashed it... will post my experience soon... wow at last could talk 5 min in my room(very poor signal quality coverage)
Will this work on non-Bell Legend? I got Vodafone Legend.

There's a trick you can try. Get old fake-flash CWM, name it let say update-old.zip and put it onto your SD card. Boot into new CWM and install that update-old.zip you previously put on SD card. Old CWM should reload instantly. It won't erase or replace anything on your system, just in RAM.

i used this method for radio upgrading... and also some other stuff that their installation are aborted in cwm3
I've tried this radio on Legend (the usual fastboot flash radio procedure) and got quite high battery usage in standby during few days, so I decided to downgrade it back to 7.13.35.05.
Flashed to Vodafone Legend, seems to work fine so far.
Runs flawlessly on Vodafone Legend (CM7).
Now after one week of usage i can say the following:
- Battery livetime was increased (recorded with systempanel)
- GPS exactness seams to be improved (also the lock speed)
- GSM signal strengh is better - now i can allso recive calls when i'm in my basement ...
I havn't found anything that didn't work after the update.
So i'm happy with the new radio version
This new radio fixed my gps issues with CM7 RC4. Thanks!
Can I update via Rom Manager as a full rom? Thanks.

Yes, this is the way it should be flashed. But bear in mind that this is NOT a full ROM. You'll still have your current ROM, just in About Phone you'll see a new radio version

I have a Bell Legend upgrading from the Froyo WWE radio and I've noticed that after my 3rd reboot, the GPS still doesn't lock on. Haven't had GSM testing yet, I'm in the mountains and WiFi seems to be very improved.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
EDIT: Well, it found 1 satellite in view. Usually it would lock on in 5 seconds, getting like 10 (around) satellites. Then the single one it found went out of view. This radio is a joke.
EDIT2: HOLY CRAP, JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO RESTORE THE NANDROID, IT FOUND TWO (although it took about 5 minutes). OMFG A THIRD ONE.
HOLY CRAP IT LOCKED ON! That took a damn long time though, and I'm indoors now. Why couldn't it find some when I was driving? This is still a joke. I'll nandroid it tonight.
EDIT3: Okay, maybe I'm starting to think the fails I had, I had because the GPS was initializing or something, and I didn't give it enough time to breathe before closing GPS Test and resetting it, etc. Maybe I'll keep this another day to see further results, the GPS is starting to lock-on instantly now, which is nice. Can't comment on GSM though.
EDIT4: Aaaaaaaaand we're back to its old intermittent habits. I can't believe this. This is bullsh*t.

After using it for about 2 weeks, I think this does help with receiving calls in low signal area. It also helps with the battery life strangely.
Im running a cm9 nightly.
When i saw a stable version was available, i downloaded it and attempted to flash
It got the attached pic when i attempted.
Is there any way to do it via cell phone? I do not have a computer, so this is the only option.
It should be noted i only want to move to the stable version because my GPS does not work with this nightly, so if there is a fix for that, it will be good as well.
Thanks.

From your picture it looks like you downloaded a ROM for the wrong phone. The error youre getting is the updater script trying to verify what phone its being installed to. The error is referencing galaxys and i9000 when the captivate is an sgh-i897. On cm's site its also labeled as captivatemtd in the download list.
Verify that the ROM you have downloaded is specifically for the captivate and/or download the one for the captivate and try again.

Depending on the modem you have installed it could be causing your problems. I was messing with modems one day and flashed one that gave me great signal but when I went to use my GPS I couldn't get it to lock onto a single sat.
http://soggycashew.weebly.com/cm7miui--ics-modems.html
That will take you to a rather extensive list of available modems. Use the ones that are located directly at that link. There are other options but they will not install on cm7 and up.
I personally use the ugkg3 and it works great

I have only ever used CM, and haven't installed anything else, so I guess it is a stock modem (not even entirely sure what a modem is). The thing is, my GPS used to work on cm7, but once I put on the cm9 nightly, it stopped. I bent the antenna out a bit to make sure it was making contact with the battery cover (saw that on the internet), and when I turned it back on, it caught its location once, but wouldn't do it again. I guess I'll have to make a desperate thread about my GPS not.working. thanks for the help though!
I highly recommend the GPS fix flashable mod. I never had working GPS without it. An xda search will lead you there.
