has anyone else noticed that notifications seem to be broken in Wordfeud? I'm on the latest version and running the latest Froyo but I noticed it quit working on Cognition 2.2 beta as well.
It's spotty for me sometimes, but I attribute most of that to the various bugs in the 2.2 beta. I won't really start complaining until I have issues on a nice, clean, stable ROM.
By the way if anyone wants to play I'm Gunnyman on there as well.
They have been ducked for my phones for awhile. I attributed it to being on a custom rom but I guess not.

I got both and Android ID changer wont let me change the ID. It lets me save it but won't change...so I have to be doing something wrong.
Edit: Just kept changing stuff that would keep everything black so I will see how this works out. Well I changed my ID and am still not getting notifications. I am not sure why but oh well. Not a big deal.

I had these problems back when we first started flashing Froyo. I emailed the author, and he told me to turn notifications off, wait a while then turn em back on. This will reset you with google's c2dm.
Its been working for me ever since, I usually do it after flashing.

In theory with the app it shouldn't matter should it? I would think that the point of changing would be to just change it to a unique ID. I will ODIN back and give it a shot.

it *Shouldnt,* but I have had no problems with notifications where everyone else that updated to cog 2.2 has.

Well I already flashed 2.1 so I am going to see what my ID gives in the way of notifications. If nothing I will try the disable since I didn't see that before. Some good info in this thread now, thanks guys.
Hello folks, here's the issue. I've been playing around these last two days with a different set of custom ROMs in order to check if it was ROM-specific or not.
The following most updated versions of Twitter clients simply do not work on the Froyo ROMs for Captivate (I9000 based or not) when they do work on Stock JF6/JH7:
Twitter 1.0.5 (official)
Twidroyd 4.2.1
Seesmic 1.4.3
ROMs tested:
aospMOD v1.1
Cognition 2.3b4 / 2.3b6
Perception 3 / 4
AXURA Beta 5
(srsly, I've probably flashed my Cappy as much as the devs might do on a normal day
They simply do not login. I was able to use Twicca Beta, Touiter and TweeDeck on Froyo roms. For all tests I've always went back to JF6 using Odin-1-Click - I did not yet however performed a Master Clear (srsly...) and I'm keeping that as a hail mary.
So far what seems to be related to is that now Twitter is using only OAuth for authentication - so something around that might be the cause, maybe SSL or some other crap - who knows?
So, anyone running these - can you test it?
I haven't had a problem with any Twitter apps and I've flashed almost every ROM you can think of.
Never had a problem. Ran a bunch of different cognition roms, now on perception build 3 I use twicca
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
This makes absolutely no sense to me anymore. I've did a Master Clear, went to JF6 and then I've installed Stock JJ4 and nothing again.
This is amazingly frustrating....
Bump.
I know I have 2 good answers but I'd like for someone with one these roms to actually go ahead and try Twitter. It'd mena a lot to me

I've tried the perception and axura roms, as well as di11igaf's v2 with no twitter problems. Are you restoring twitter from a backup? Have you tried a fresh install? Does the mobile site work?
I've personally been on all of those except AXURA with no Twitter issues. and I've gone through about every twitter app for android
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Thank you all for the responses!
Fresh start, restoring from backup - even setup a new twitter account (in case it was something related to the connections in Twitter itself) - nothing!
I'll work on this after work today. Gotta head out! Thank you guys!
LOL this is ridiculous.
For some reason I tried using it over cell data today and it worked! Since I do not have a data plan I usuallty try on wifi @home.
When I get back later I will check if it works now that it is connected. Will also check on other wifi networks and probably scrap that damn router
srsly, this is extremely LOL.
[Q] Is it safe to run the new "GPS Fix" app released by Samsung on a Cognition Rom?
I am running Cognition v2.3b6, and my GPS works pretty darn well. Get locks on 5-9 satellites within 10-40seconds on a regular basis. When using My Tracks, my GPS never deviates off course and when I use Google Nav it almost always works great.
Yet I am still interested in seeing if using this new app put out by Samsung could further improve my lock times and increase my locks when inside buildings(not that it is all that necessary unless using a "check-in'' app like 4square or Facebook check-in.
So will running this app with my current Cognition rom mess anything up, and could it potentially make my GPS worse?
Appreciate the responses in advance.
My understanding is that all the app does is restore all settings to stock gps. So if you are happy with your configuration do not use it

Answer 1 - no it won't mess up your rom
Answer 2 - most definitely will make gps worse, in time. It's like performing a factory reset, just resets settings as mcord stated

I think samsung should of worded that differently, i don't think anyone wants to use the stock gps settings, its those settings that started this whole gps snafu in the first place.
I have a rooted sprint hero running aosp mod (latest stable, not gingerbread - don't remember the version number). Up until Sunday everything was working fine. Sunday evening I noticed that I hadn't gotten any texts all day (highly unusual). Started to text my fiancée, didn't recieve a response. Called her a couple hours later, she said she'd recieved them and replied. I figured it was a sprint issue and would pass by the next day. Next day, still nothing. Stood next to a friend of mine, had him text me, nothing. Sent him a text and he received it almost instantly. As of today I still can't recieve texts, though everything else works just fine. Is this a simple software issue on my end that can be fixed by reflashing my rom? Or is it something more serious that I need to see a sprinnt Rep for? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
I saw a guy have this issue with cyanogenmod. He ended up flashing a different rom and all his texts came through at once then. He was using the nightly releases, so I think he just waited until the next nightly came out. You might should just reflash and see if that helps.
This is a common issue. Usually it is due to deleting the stock messaging app because you have handcent or chomp, but those apps pull the info from the stock sms app, so if you deleted it, reinstall it. The other cause is just a known bug in froyo, and though I have never had the issue, many many others have been able to fix it by going into recovery, nandroiding your current setup, wipe EVERYTHING, flash a sense rom, go into settings and update your profile and PRL, then open texts up (you should get a bunch), then going back into recovery, wipe everything again, and restore your nand. Hope this fixes it, good luck.
Sounds good, I'll give it a shot when I get off work. Does it matter what sense rom I flash? More specifically, can I just use an ruu from HTC.com or will I lose my root?

RUU takes longer. also, dpending on how you rooted you will probably lose root. just run ANY sense based rom (custom too), fresh,NFX,liquid, whatever, it'll only take like 5-10 minutes. Also, just a hint, make a nand of the sense rom before you go back to your current one, that way you can update your profile/PRL whenever you want. I keep a sense NFX rom in my nand folder for just that.
Or you can wait till I release an updated dualboot script and have both easily accessible. Should be released this week.
Oh, and like some others said, its a problem with froyo and some phones. You might look in the froyo sense thread and try the fix listed in the first post.

You're awesome. Followed your advice, worked perfectly.
However, I'm now having a separate issue (I assume). All physical keys work fine, with the exception of my home key which does absolutely nothing once the phone boots. Is this a related issue? Did I screw up somewhere along the line?

I have heard of this as well. Can't remember the fix, but it sounds rom related. The home key action is in /system/usr/keylayout/heroc-keypad.kl you can also check there? You could try to re-restore the nand again - wipe ALL first. Also, I know most launchers have home key options, make sure those settings look normal. Also maybe go into your launcher app in settings/apps/manage apps and clear the defaults for it, then see if home does anything. IF that doesn't work search for member "appleflap" on xda, he made a hardkey remapper that you can fix/change the function of the home key.
Reflashed the current nand to no avail. Flashed a clean install of aosp, works fine. I can deal with the loss of my settings, I suppose.
Thanks for all of your help, bud.

I am actually having a similar issue, but I am periodically not able to send texts. Receive just fine, but some texts fail over and over.
I am running CM 6.1 stable, and using the default text app. Anyone had this issue?
Sorry about the bump, but I did not feel it necessary to create a new thread after I found this one.
Edit: I totally also recognize this could be something to do with the sprint network as well
I felt there was a need for an updated rom dedicated to the Optimus T (USA). I could not find a proper rom with both Wifi Calling and fully-functioning MMS.
Thus, RevOidOptT was born.
Wifi Calling works beautifully and full-size MMS can be sent/received. Also, I incorporated google setup on first boot and edited build.prop to fix locale, currency, and date/time issues.
This is based off Neojn's devoid froyo final and most of the credit goes to him. Thanks, Neojn!
Thanks to blueren for theme and franco for kernel!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
-I am not responsible for bricked devices or any other issues associated with flashing this rom.
-STOCK MMS HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH GO SMS PRO IN ORDER TO FIX MMS SIZING ISSUES ON THE T-MOBILE USA NETWORK. IN ORDER TO SEND/RECEIVE MESSAGES, TAKE THE FOLLOWING STEPS:
1. OPEN GOSMS, HIT MENU BUTTON AND GO TO SETTINGS. THEN, GO TO IMPORTANT TIPS AND SELECT 'Stock SMS uninstalled?'
2. GO BACK TO SETTINGS, SELECT MMS SETTINGS AND SELECT 'Preserve image resolution'
This should give you fully-functional, full-sized MMS. Joy! Joy! Joy!
ALSO, All other messaging apps work with GO SMS installed, regardless of whether stock MMS is present. So feel free to use any messaging app you'd like. (Just be sure the steps above have been taken)
ROM SPECS:
Kernel:
franco.Kernel.v18.1-cfs (Clocked at 600/245 smartass by default. I suggest switching to 748/320 interactivex for optimal speed/battery combination)
Added apps:
noFrills CPU
BatteryCalibration (run after flashing ROM and fully charging phone to optimize battery life)
Added essential sapps
Wifi Calling
Calculator
Calendar
Browser
Carhome
Quick search
Youtube
Clock
Livewallpapers
Music
Movie player
Replaced apps:
LG Keyboard to GB Keyboard
Stock Gallery to Quickpic (much cleaner/faster)
Stock MMS to GO SMS Pro (see important notes above)
Zeam Launcher to LauncherPro
FileManager to FileExpert (very excellent substitute for those that want root access without paying for Root Explorer)
Theme:
SuperBlue Theme v5 (changed boot animation to android particles and removed wallpaper)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download RevOidOptT
2. Do NAND backup (not required but HIGHLY recommended)
3. Wipe everything (data, cache, dalvik cache, battery stats, etc.)
4. Flash RevOidOptT
5. Reboot
6. After going through setup, it will force close, just keep going (only a first-time setup bug)
7. Follow instructions above regarding GO SMS Pro settings
8. May have to clear Market cache in order to get apps to show up in 'My apps"
9. Enjoy

General rule is: It's fine as long as you give credit to the people who did any work that you are using. Kernels, roms, apps, scripts etc, if someone else put their time and effort into it, you should credit + thank them, ideally with a link to where it came from.

Ha good question. Just the app changes I noted and the fixed mms. Plus the theme/kernel for those that want a quick fresh install. Mostly tried to package together a rom that is fully loaded (minus some gapps) for the average user that just wants to flash and go without extra hassle.

I really like seeing roms like this! Will put through the paces soon.
Question: did you make any adjustments to avoid the phone defaulting to british currency and location? It may be the franco.devoid that I am running, but I would imagine all versions are the same in that respect. Morelocale2 app fixes this, but I would still like to find a code/setting fix.

Just flashed this rom, very solid/stable thank you!
One thing tho, is there a way to get the stock txt/mms app on here? Don't like go sms much...
I'm assuming there's a reason gosms is included, maybe a problem sending MMS using the stock app? Just in case, if I can use a stock aosp ...could someone point me to a link?
