Got it too two days ago, when the paid market is available to Singapore. I was browsing the market and find it look different but cannot figure out what is it, until I go to downloads and realise that it has a Update All button, this where I realise I got the 2.2 market.
However I thought the new market is only 2.2 only?
Great
Will try out later
i got the update but now i'm having force close and when i uninstall and go back, it keeps getting update, anyone experiencing this?

Mine crashed when I first tried to open a paid app's page, but after that it works again, when I reopen Market. Have you tried uninstalling the update and let it update again and once it done that, close and reopen market and try to poke around to see if it force close again.
Thanks for this, used the Apk... no issues to report.
Market Update (eclair)
90% of people already got it...
Good lookin out though! Worth the DL for those on custom roms that didnt get it.
I havent received this update and the APK provided causes force closes all the time. Im Telus Milestone on telus running GOT 2.1 update /w TELUS Lite 4.1
anyone else getting this problem?
Just update manualy. This silent update needs OTA update enabled. As it is basicly OTA, but just the silent version And custom ROMs dont have OTA working usualy.
The best feature in this market was not posted.
This market remembers what apps you had installed, and after doing factory/changing ROM this market automaticly installs back all the apps! Wonderful, no more need for MyBackupPro, well it is for apps that should be bought

Im also running TELUS Lite 4.1 and getting the exact same problem.
sooo... what features do we gain over the update that was given by default, versus your .apk file?
Is it really worth my time to get this?
As far as know there is no difference to getting update ofcialy or like this way? After all update only updates the market app, nothing else.
Thanks for apk.
I (for one) did NOT receive this update (OTA).
THANKS for the APK! I appreciate it...
Well I installed the Honeycomb port today and since it doesnt do much I restored to my backup. The accelerometer didn't work so I flashed the stock firmware, kernel, ect.
So I am trying to update with the Sprint Galaxy Tab EA24 Flasher but it keeps failing. I think that it has to do with the Gallery app that I uninstalled a few days ago stupidly.
I have been trying to reinstall it and no luck. Help?
Edit: Market apps wont install. I wish there was an easy way to get all the way back to default. I do not care about saving my settings.
Edit: So I use Titanium Backup to uninstall the broken Gallery3D.apk that force closes, and push over another Gallery3D.apk that works via adb. Then when I try to apply the update.zup I downloaded I get the error message in the attached file below.
Edit: Followed instructions on last post on this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009926&page=8
Is there any way to trigger the update to the latest Android Market APK ?
It updated itself automatically a few days ago while I was running on KG3, but I flashed JVR yesterday and since then, it doesn't seem to want to update...
Nope. But you can download the newest market apk yourself. Just google for it.
knowledge is Power. Guard it well.
Manually update it! Just search for the latest market Apk on Google and after downloading it just install it! Btw I had the link saved somewhere if I find it ill provide you with it!

Dont update the latest android market is buggy & too slow last 2 days it shows all the apps which have update but cant download any, gives error connection times out..............try again, my data connection has no speed problems.
exactly..for first few days the new app was fast but soon like said above it became a total waste.now uninstalled updates and using old 2.3.6 market version.
Me too reverting back to 2.3.6 for now.
How do I revert back to 2.3.6?
When trying to install 2.3.6.apk it says "there is a problem parsing the package"
Edit
I uninstalled update then restarted the phone & it finally reverted back to older 2.3.6 and it works fine now.
I have a I9000M running JVR with KG3 modem and CSC and speedmod-kernel-k15i-t8
When I try to download something off the market, all apps get stalled at 'Starting download'. This only happens when I'm connected to my WI-FI. I have never had any problems with my connection before a couple of days ago, then nothing would install.
I tried everything, starting Google Talk, disabled data roaming, cleaned cache in recovery, rebooted phone, installed the new market apk, etc.
My internet connection is fine, nothing else is affected.
Any ideas on what to look for?
Thanks,
Ian

Try installing the old market.
You can either go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Market and select Uninstall Updates, or uninstall the market using TB then run the old market's apk (you can find it in Apps and Themes).
Some people have had an issue where the new market will tell them they have no room to install an app. When I was having that problem, sometimes it would give me the error, other times it would just hang forever at Starting Download. Therefore the fix for that issue is worth a try.
As for the previous poster's solution...I think flashing three ROMs is a bit excessive to solve this problem.
actually this problem happens in the old market too.
i think it happens more on wifi than on 3G... tho im not 100% sure about that.
anyway, it happens to me alot and what i do is:
1. stop the download and try again.
2. switch between 3G to WIFI and vice versa.
3. completely close the market thru applictions->manage apps, and try again.
and if all of the above isnt working:
4. i give up and try again tomorrow...
good luck!
Thanks all for the responses.
In the last couple of days I have installed JVR and KG3 with the same problem so it's not the firmware.
I have the market that comes with JVR and installed the new one with the same results. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the market, cleared the cache in application management and cleared the cache in recovery.
I download something and I only get the green striped bar saying starting download, but if I turn off Wi-Fi, and cancel the download and restart it right away, it works on 3G.
I can surf the net, send texts, download stuff from Dropbox on Wi-Fi no problem, just the market does not download apps.

This was happening before I updated to the new market, but did this also.
Thanks,

Can it be a problem with the file system? Where are the files put when downloaded from the market?
Ian
So I went back to stock KG3 today. No custom kernel, no root, no nothing. The Market still doesn't work.
Can it be something to do with the file system? Whether or not I clicked repartition in Odin?
Thanks,
Ian
Hi,
I recently installed CM 9 Alpha 2 with Gapps ICS 4.0.3 11.12.22 everything seemed to work fine until I tried to update Google Maps from Android Marketplace. It didn't allow me to update and said that I have to uninstall the previous version. So I uninstalled it using Titanium without making a backup.
And then when I tried to install the new version from Marketplace, it returned an error stating that update is incompatible. And after a while it changed to "Incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared user ID".
I tried installing Google Maps 6.40 apk manually but the Installation aborts.
I tried going back to the original app by installing it through Gapps ICS 4.0.3 11.12.22 but the installation keeps aborting.
Do I need to completely clean and reinstall the ROM and Gapps? Is it the only possibility?
I'm at wit's end as what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Try the gapps fixer utility. If that doesn't work you'll probably have to do a clean install. There's a later gapps you can flash, I think it's 031712, which works well with ics. Good luck.

Hi, i have similar problem. I am from time to time updating to a newer nightls and at the same time newer gapps package. And i don't have Google Maps for some time now.
I tried extracting newest gapps 20120317 and ther is no Google Maps inside, so its not a bug in istalling its simply not there!
The Google maps version that is on market has navigation, meaning it is for US only i think, thats why many of us cant get it from market it wont install(but it does work if someone else downloads it, and you install manualy on non US phone)
I know i can get the ICS compatible google maps apk from some ICS ROM that has it, i will try it later, but still it would be nice if they put it back to gapps package the next time they make it.

I have exactly the same error trying to install gmaps from market. "Incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared user ID". Apk installation fails
Flashing latest gapps (from cyanogen wiki) didn't help
Tried to flash gmaps separately from some zip found on internet but it didn't help too!
Can someone post latest gmaps zip? I'll try to flash it with cwm.
Thanks!

I have a CM9 nightly and I tried re-installing that gapps version. It didn't seem to fix my google maps though. I still get the same error while trying to install it from the market.
