I'm the developer of AndChat and am working on getting AndChat optimized for Honeycomb. I'm looking for users willing to download the beta and give feedback for things like UI issues, Honeycomb specific bugs, crashes, etc.
The beta is available here: http://www.andchat.net/beta

so far so good with this beta. Used it for about 45min with no issues. would like to see copy/paste embedded. Although when tryin to dl a file it wouldn't connect to receive it via dcc send.
Installed on my Xoom. Works well, would like to be able to see the list of people in the channel on the right hand side when in landscape mode instead of in its own window. Will live without that feature Will report any specific bugs that I can see, none so far.
My initial impression was it's beautiful. Will use for a while and report back. Great job

The view used to display the text (TextView) doesn't support c&p which is a huge shame. DCC support isn't implemented AndChat.

Thanks for testing and the feedback so far. The 1 apk is for phone & tablet so if you install it on your phone and notice anything funky, let me know.

I downloaded the android SDK a while back so I updated it and started looking into the new API and stuff. The framework you are talking about to put the people list on the side doesn't sound too scary
Waiting for some books to hit the shelves before I start tinkering around
Love this app no problems

I've had a look at some example code and you're right, it isn't too bad. I will work to make it even more compatible with Honeycomb in the future.
Been using for a few days and has been working flawlessly. I would like to see an option to have users in the channel on the right side like PC programs. there is enough screen width to do this without sacrificing the chat.
Also it might be me but I could not find a way to auto login to a channel.

Oh, I definitely plan on adding that. Here is a screenshot of the progress so far:
It's very buggy and crashy in its current state, developing on the slow emulator is a huge pain

User list looks good. Can we adjust the font in a future release and also long pressing on a name would ideally bring up options such as ban kick op msg etc. Nice work so far!
I'm new to AndChat and it's quickly becoming my favorite IRC client. How does one auto-join multiple channels on that one-liner? Do we separate by commas or just space? I currently use the auto execute line and add /join for each channel.

Looks nice hopefully we can move the list to the left on final release.
Hmm an option for left or right then ;-)

Wow, just wow. Stunningly beautiful. It's like Bing Maps, but instead of satellite images of increasing detail (as we zoom in) this app has paintings!
Would be even better with Browse (by Artist, Painting or Category) and Search functions. I have very little knowledge about art, so some descriptions would also be very useful. Finally, any plans in including popular paintings like Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Starry Night, Persistence of Memory, Luncheon at the Boating Party, etc.?
Thank you so much for keeping this app free.

Hi,
What do you mean that "its not free?". You can install trial version and use it without limitation.
To set marketplace on your phone you need a Live ID with adress for example in USA.
Really cool app, however would like the scrolling to be faster as it is really slow and the white border with the black theme looks off.

Thanks for the browser version, there are some absolutely stunning pieces to view, most I have never seen before and I wish I knew Russian so I could learn who painted them. An Android version would be great.
Nice application! The only improvement that I can suggest is that it would be great to have an optional caption for each work, indicating the artist and date.

Thanks - I hadn't realized that. It might be nice if this information was shown in a corner of the screen (after tapping the "i") instead of on a separate page, but that's a minor thing.
The only other question I have is whether your current toolbar makes sense. All of those functions (zoom in/out, search, and back) can be handled by gestures and hardware buttons. Maybe the toolbar should have the other functions: randomize, snapshot, slideshow, settings? Or go with a minimal bar that just has the "drag up" cue to reveal those options?
Regardless, it's a great app.
I`ve decide to make this app free. Already republished this app, enjoy=)))
Any thoughts that you think should be added or improved?
I've been working on this app for a month or so after seeing the sorry state of Honeycomb ready apps, I hope you guys like it!

This is a really cool app! Only thing I would like to see is working video and zooming of images without jumping to browser.
Aside from that, my productivity has now gone down significantly while away from my desk. So I suppose you could call this a ... success?
Glad you like it! I'm not sure if I can do anything about videos not loading (I think thats just a limitation of not being directly in-browser), but I'm investigating not being able to zoom images and will aim to get it fixed!

I'm ok with not being able to view video's (I just click open in browser and then choose Youtube for the youtube links). However whenever I do that and come back to Reddita the right pane still shows the non-working youtube video, but the left pane loses my place with the links. So I have to scroll all the way back down to wherever I was (sometimes I don't remember how far I was down). Is there a way to come back to Reddita exactly like I left it?
Thanks!
Great App!
Edit: It does it if I follow any link out of Reddita

This is my initial release of Storage Ether, an application and widget for Android Honeycomb. It is an informational App/Widget that will give information on space usage for your internal storage and SD card, enabled via Tiamat kernel.
The application gives a configurable widget and an informational application activity, which currently is purely informational, but with suggestions I would like to expand this into an extremely useful activity.
I look forward to some feedback and of course continued development/enhancement will depend on demand for the application.
I am releasing this on XDA first, for free, for the community here, I would appreciate any feedback/suggestions and or feature requests.
Please donate via the link inside the application (top right corner menu) if you like the application, I have put a lot of time into making something that looks good for our XOOM and would love for everyone to enjoy it.
Other Devices: This application should also, work on the Asus Transformer according to preliminary tests, the Acer Iconia however I expect will not work, mainly because I was unable to get hold of someone with a device long enough to complete testing, but if you have an Iconia or other device please get in touch so I can add support.

Thanks man, I have a few experimental features I added in the extra time i'v used but I took them out of this release for now. and big thanks to you for Tiamat and making this useful and have a purpose.
Widget works flawlessly and presents the information simply and concisely - big bonus since there don't seem to be any other apps out that report the external sdcard.
I get a force close every time I tap External Storage in the app. (process com.hamid.storageether)
Strange since the widget shows the info correctly.

Good stuff, works great! Would love an option to show pie on widget, but other then that its great, would pay for this.
I think it would be pretty sweet to get a lock screen that "scanned your fingerprint".
I know there is probably no way for the Xoom to actually do that but seems like something cool.
I am thinking like a button you touched with a slider of light that starts slightly above and "scans" down then back up... maybe a second and a half delay....
Sounds like a pretty cool idea. And it might be possible. I'll see if I can come up with something to add to my current project.
Just a little test trial. Worked out pretty nicely to be honest. Might try to enhance it in the near future if there's a high demand for it. Here's a couple screen shots.

I'm glad you like it. I will put it in an .zip and PM you after I get off work. Also i'll have a full theme for tiamat rom within a few days or so depending on how busy I get. Still unsure if I will have this lock screen as default on it, as it still needs to be customized a bit.
For those of you that wanted the lock screen, i've added it to the stock framework for tiamat 1.1 rom only. All you have to do is use root explorer or something similiar and move the file in to /system/framework/ and overwrite the existing framework-res.apk.
If you have a special request for this in a different rom, or stock files just ask. I can easily add it. If you use it, and enjoy it, than don't forget to thank.
Now is this a just for fun anyones finger placed on their will unlock it or is it so only ur fingerprint can unlock it...or is that even possible.

What about facial recognition using the front facing camera?
I love the whole idea.
To add to it, create an invisible hotspot, say the bottom left corner.
You have to hold here and then scan your finger print.
If you only scan it fails, if you hold the magic spot and scan, it passes.
Could you incorporate this with the security features of the Xoom, instead of the pattern lock!?!?!?

It should work with XoomZone. I'm not sure what other modifications he has done to the framework-res.apk, so if he has any extras it could possible wipe them out and put you back on a stock tiamat 1.1 framework.
If you run something other than tiamat rom just pm me with your info and ill put it in the correct framework.
works good with XoomZone. It does however remove alot of the Blue themeing.

NO! I do not suggest replacing the 3.2 framework with the old 3.1. Unfortunately Verizon is being retarded and hasn't released 3.2 for 3g models yet. As soon as this becomes readily available for me I will make some adjustments and create a thread with modifications for every version.

My wife's new HP computer uses the built-in webcam to do facial recognition to log her in. The software is called HP ProtectTools I think.. but instead of just using the fingerprint reader to allow login.. it took about 15 pictures of her face. Then when she has to log in, she clicks the facial option and the webcam turns on. It logged her in instantly. She can still use the fingerprint or manually type in a keyword in case the facial recognition doesn't work.
That would be a cool addition.

PLEASE NOTE:
As is evident, there might be other issues too that are yet to crop up. We can only refine and improve upon them with increased participation from users.
[*]Presently, the toolbar is relevant only for users navigating regularly to Galaxy Note forums and threads. (You may still download it to satisfy your hurt ego of not having one for your phone model)
[*]The toolbar does not offer any new functionalities. Its purpose is to streamline and make more efficient the everyday user experience.
[*]The links gathered and listed may very well be incomplete, or astonishingly missing more important ones. Please bring them to our notice and we will have them up in no time.
[*]The toolbar might be least useful to you. Please help us by providing feedback as to what should be removed or added to better suit its purpose.

Missing requirements ?
Hi Toxic,
I just installed the toolbar under Aurora (Firefox 15 alpha) and Ubuntu 11.10.
The bar is just blank and I see only empty lists in the options (see screenshots).
Am I doing something wrong or is it just a (temporary I home) incompatibility?
Cheers

I am afraid I have no clue as to why it might be blank for you. I had tested it across all browsers and their variants like Maxathon, Rockmelt etc
,
I can't comment on the Aurora issue since it could be an issue with the browser itself. If you could please verify whether you have the same issues on the official public build, then perhaps I could be able to rectify the errors.
However I will test it out on Aurora as well and get back to you soon .
Cheers

Thanks for your time.
I tested an aurora setup in Windows too as I don't have any plain Firefox right now and I get the same issue.
This seems to be definitely an Aurora issue.
Don't worry, this is no issue for me as I just wanted to play around with the toolbar. I certainly can live with it, and I don't really want to mess my setup.
I'll wait for Aurora to fix a few bugs they have...
Apparently it does not install under chromium either... Hard are the times of a tool developer
The error message says "Incorrect package" and that it can't install the javascript file.

Sad to hear that - but that is simply not in my hands
Ironic it works smoothly on Chrome Browser which is based on several open source projects including the Chromium Project.
Good Job m8

glad you like it
Hi Toxic,
I finally installed Firefox Beta, and the toolbar works fine. They definitely broke a lot of things on Aurora.
Nice work
