I saw some folks were requesting a Halo Reach boot animation. I tried out the one that was created for the EVO by Crackanug which worked for my stock EB13 on genocide. I had issues with the sound working on it correctly but maybe someone can figure it out. This was after converting the mp3 to wav from the zip and renaming to PowerOn.
Regardless great work by Crackanug! Be sure and thank him on his thread!

This is for rfs. We need a edify zip to work with cwm3.

Heres one that has amend and edify scripts in it...
tested on my RFS system but should work with CWM3 too
edit: I didnt touch the sound file. I just took the boot animation and stuck it in a flashable zip that supports CWM and CWM3
I just flashed this on mine and it works fine I got ext4 with the genocide kernel and it word just fine I like it lol simply android lol

You need to put it in system/etc.. that is where my sound goes and works perfect...
And it needs to be a .wav file I believe

I went ahead and put it altogether in one flashable zip through CWM. Just flash and you should be good to go with boot and sound. Now I may be wrong but your rom/kernel has to support sound with boot. And remember sound is short on the Epic boot so the whole thing won't play... I have been looking into that but havent found it yet...
Let me know if you have any issues with the zip.. Enjoy!

There isn't one, you just have to dl the whole rom and flash it. You then have the option it flash a new rom that doesn't include a kernel or you can adb push the kernel and zimage to your rom. Its really easy but there is no flashable zip to my knowledge.

Oh okay, so right now I"m running Epic Experience and Phoenix kernal. To get EE with Baked snack kernal the steps would be this for me?:
1: Nandroid backup.
2: Wipe everything
3: Flash B.Sv1.3
4: Reboot
5: Wipe everything again
6: Flash EE rom
7: Advanced Restore Data Only
8: Reboot
9: Flash Halloween Theme
10: Reboot.
And i should end up with Epic Experience ROM running Baked Snack Kernal with Halloween Theme, right?

Should be fine, but I never used advanced restore. I did this.
Wipe everything
Install baked snack 1.3
Wait till boots fully, boot back into recovery
Wipe again
Flash epic experience
Reboot.
Let load again, then boot into recovery last time.
Flash theme.
Reboot and enjoy
Should work great, check in system info to be sure, will say using 1.3 kernel. Use oc widget or setcpu in order to oc 1.3 ghz. Batt life is awesome even at that.

[01/21/11] These new .zip files are updated to work with all versions of CWM, the scripts are both Edify and Amend friendly. Enjoy!
Previews:
Startup
Shutdown
Shutdown 2
Shutdown 3
There are 6 files attached here, all flashable through ClockworkMod. The titles of the files should be self-explanatory. You'll notice that one of the .zip's will flash you back to the stock Epic boot and shutdown sounds.
I've confirmed that they work with DI18 stock (rooted), DK28 stock (rooted), and Bonsai 1.1.4, so I don't see why they wouldn't work on any ROM.
Your phone must be rooted and have ClockworkMod Recovery (any version).
*I suppose I must do the obligatory I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU JACK YOUR PHONE UP*
Instructions:
- download flashable .zip and flash through clockwork.
That's it, reboot and enjoy!

No, the sound effect is a portion of (what I believe to be) the Droid Incredible boot sound; I created the "epic" and associated sound processing.

Pretty sweet! It does kind of remind me of the first time I saw Optimus Prime transform in the live action move. The "Epic" part is a nice touch.
Need help getting this to work. I have done every step to the T, and still no avail. I have custom boot animations as well as custom boot sounds but, for some reason this one file just says unsupported file type after clicking on it in /system/etc folder. It plays while on the sdcard itself. So if you know a work around that would be great cause this boot sounds is awesome.

This is probably a dumb question, but did you unzip the .wav first? Assuming that you did, you should have a file on your sd card with the name "PowerOn.wav"; if you copy that file into /system/etc you should have no problem. Verify that you have a file in that folder with that exact name, not just the "PowerOn.bak" that you may have created in backup up your original boot sound.
What file manager are you using? I've done this using both Astro and Root Explorer and am able to select the file in /system/etc and it plays on the built in music player.
Added the option to flash through clockwork, updated OP with options.
very nice I will install this

You read my mind! I've been learning about how to make one today. The only catch is, it will only work on a ROM with a custom kernel, or a kernel that has been modified and re-compiled. Currently the only Froyo ROM that I know of that this might be an option with is Mammon's Bonsai ROM (which is what I run).
I'll keep fiddling and see what I can come up with.

If you have made a Animated Pulldown Bar animation post it and i will upload it into the OP. I will also be making some when i get time im very busy trying to get work things together but i will work on what i can but please share your work i will give full credit and show it off thank you.
Video of what this looks like
If you wish to try this your self look HERE for that info.
Made by notta:
It will work much like the multi-anim zip I did "if familiar with it" by means of renaming a file inside a folder called notta on your sdcard to the animation of your choice. Then just reboot to recovery and flash the same zip you downloaded. Thats it!
Hopefully one zip, 15 different anims, working on CM7 and MIUI.
Instructions copied from the file you will rename (sdcard/notta/green-lightning)
Open as text such as with Root Explorer to view
Instructions for use:
Simply rename this file, the one you are reading to the pulldown animation of your choice. Reboot to recovery and reflash the original zip you downloaded. It will identify your choice by the file and patch that set. Be advised if you mispell your choice, nothing will be flashed and error.txt will reside in /sdcard/notta. NOTE: A dalvik wipe should be performed on the first initial flash, it should not be necessary after that.
So far the pulldown animations to rename default to are:
Please rename exactly as shown:
green-lightning
green-lightning2
blue-lightning
blue-lightning2
blue-lightning3
blue-lightning4
nerve
nerve2
pixel
pink-bounce
orange-bounce
blue-cosmic
apparition
red-plasma
cosmic-string
Consider it a beta zip & Again let me know how things work or give feedback. I have tested this but not extensively, It works by identifying whether ThemeChooser.apk (CM7) or ThemeEngine.apk (MIUI) resides in the system/app folder. If one or the other is not there, it won't flash anything!
I figure being able to theme on the fly is one of the reasons people run these roms, so it was a quick and easy solution to combine both in one zip.
The status bar may take a moment to set back in between animation choices. Also the animation never works on the first pulldown, just pull down a second time and it works great from then on out.
Also makes an undo flashable backup for both CM7 & MIUI!

Hi XDA!
I would like to ask if there is a method(which really works) to set startup and maybe shutdown sounds for the LG GT540.
In the stock 2.1 I remember changing startup/shutdown sounds easily, I just replaced the sound files with another.
Or is there any script or any way to include sound in bootanimation.zip?
I can't believe that everything supports boot sounds, except Cyanogenmod7
If you can help, please do it!
In 2.1 boot sound is loaded by program who is initiated by init.rc, you should to to edit boot, place "playmp3" program in place where is located in 2.1 and you can use the same path like in 2.1 system.
that won't work pebe if i remember you need a modded kernel because if you modify the init.rc it will get replaced on each reboot

Thanks, hope I can get it to work, but please help me a little bit more.
I'm downloading the system dump of the Optimus One, I assume the file will be there which I need.
Where do I need to put this libaudioalsa.so file?
Then where should I copy my .mp3 and what should be it's name?
What to edit in init.rc?
