Found it in another thread. Sorry
Yes I have tried it. Its the best video search & play solution I used on my machine. Really good software - also also you to search Wikipedia easly. Also seems to be free software at the moment!
Try it - you have nothing to loose
I use it all the time, very good and reliable.
Wow, surprised to hear people are using it, it didn't work at all for me. Would bring up the list of videos, but won't play any of them. I thought maybe it has some issue with the TCPMP +flash bundle used to watch YouTube video directly.

I have the TCPMP+flash bundle also and is works fine for me. What error message do you get (if any)?
I think I know whats wrong. This happened to me before as well. However, it should work fine now. The problem before was it could not play any video while you were on a proxy. But they just fixed it and released an update so you can watch it with the proxy and fixed some other minor things. It works great. I just installed the update yesterday. I suggest you uninstall the one you have now and go to vtap.com on your phone and download the new one. Hopefully this fixes the problem!

Vtap is my new best friend!
Hi! I can't make youtube playing video clips. I tried so many ways but the best I did is when installing TX Opera with Flash after 1st restart I can watch youtube videos. After 2nd restart opera just loads flash but not playing - no sound no video.
Someone can help me to watch flash videos?

I attached to the post 2 screens.
There seems to be no fix. but you can try
1 this opera version and try going youtube to see the (watch video/share video) links under the video
(in this case press the watch video link)
2 use the default youtube app in the media folder of the main start menu and try searching for the title of the video that you want to watch or what you searched earlier...
If these work please press thanks at the bottom of my post =)

The same - not working. I can use my youtube app but I want to play videos in the browser.
erm.. sad to say...
then i can't really think of any other alternatives ... sorry and there are no fixes ever since the android boom started ...
The problem you guys are dealing with is that all you can get is flash lite 3.1 on winmo. That equals flash 7 - which is really old. Current flash version is 11 and most pages demand at least flash 9.
So even if you get your browser to use the flash plugin, it won't be accepted. Solution? Get a new phone or accept it. Hardware isn't up to the task as well.

That's not the problem. I know that the newest version of Flash is 11 but if I can get flash working most of the sites will work fine. First time as I said when I install flash everything is ok. But after reboot no sound and video.
I have read through the entire forum for CM9 and it doesn't say anywhere that flash won't work. So I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with any flash video playing in web pages. Yes I know that video HW acceleration is not yet working, but flash doesn't need hardware acceleration to run.
Can anyone tell me if flash is working for them?
Works for me. But don't play YouTube on HD. I haven't tried other sites.
yeah it works... bit slow ' also had to instal flash player 11 app from market.
I had to install Flash from market too... just like it was said before, don't try to play HD or if on YouTube or other flash video sites, don't click full screen either or it will hang your browser (at least for me on Dolphin HD).
Thanks
wow guys, I'm not that thick lol. I did install flash from market first and I didn't even try HD youtube. But thanks for the feedback. After re-installing CM9, everything seems to be working alright. I agree it does seem a bit slow. But it's ICS and that makes any bug or lag worth it in my eyes. After all, this is an Alpha 0.
im still not able to make it work.

Does your HP Touchpad happen to be turned on? Is it making any sounds or blinking any lights?
I was curious if anyone has problems playing the vids on youtube that are HQ. If I turn off the HQ for the the vid then it plays no problem.
When I leave it on, a msg from the app displays just saying there was a problem playing your video please retry.
I've experienced this only in one other app recently released by funimation.
Hulu and netflix work fine for me. I have tried a multitude of roms to see if its linked to specific ones.

Question has been asked a million times . Anyways here's your answer, you need to use an older version of the youtube app for HQ to work. AFAIK the last working version is 2.1.6. Happy youtubing!
I have seen this a million times as well. But I never really paid any attention because I didn't care.
But yesterday I was testing some system app mods, so I ended up downloading YouTube from the market. HQ videos were playing for me.
I guess that's unusual or whatever. Maybe they weren't really HQ quality, I don't know. But they were playing.
Me and the kid watched funny cat videos for over an hour.
Non-opengl, no system mods that would matter.

That's interesting, what rom are you using?
Could you try it out again and report back?
I was afraid it was something app related. Its not a big deal. Was mostly curious as well as seeing if I could do some tweak to get the funimation app to work as well. Thanks for the help!

For those of us who want to use the older version until things get fixed or worked around in the roms, how can I hide the older apk from the market so I don't get spammed all the time to update?

Go to settings in market/play store and tell it to not notify you of any updates.

Okay, well I had flashed a couple of times since I posted that, and when I went to try it again, it didn't work. I knew I wasn't wrong the other day, so I reflashed what I thought I had been running before, and now the HQ videos are working with the current market YouTube.
The change between working and not working was I didn't flash the "take1" kernel like I had before.
So this is the setup. I am running a straight build from source, without opengl. I built it myself, but that shouldn't matter. It was built on April 8th, and comes with the standard kernel (no NAT filter or any of the new commits.)
The only difference between mine and the eyeballers (not counting any cherry-picking he may be doing) is that I compiled in a port of PDroid. There are some changes to some system apps, but I don't think that would matter.
Basically, anyone running a straight flash of eyeballer's April 8 build should have the same ability to run the videos with the HQ button on or off. I will not swear they are true HQ videos, I don't know that for certain. But the videos run either way.
EDIT: Let me know if anyone else has this working. I don't know much about YouTube or the whole HQ/HD thing and may be losing my mind.
I thought I had isolated the problem to a gapp, but now am not so sure. I will test again if no one else can get these working. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a bunch of stuff, and don't want to keep doing it if everyone can see HQ with the above setup.
Maybe everyone can in any setup and only the few people on this thread haven't realized it yet. idk.

Ah I see you are using a CM9 build. There might be something to that. I'm on CM7.2 . Maybe in CM9 it got fixed somehow.
I thought it was working in cm7 as well. Maybe it was just a modded app though, which is no better than an older apk.
Well, unless someone with cm9 tells me it's unique, I will just assume everyone has it working. They probably do, I have never looked at it before I saw this thread the other day.

My experience has been that HQ sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I believe it is due to the actual quality of the video being played. For non-HD videos the HQ is lit up and the movie loads and plays fine. For HD videos that are actually HD you get the error message and have to uncheck HQ to get the video to play.
I have had this experience in several different configurations:
eyeballer's opengl builds, original kernel
eyeballer's opengl builds, updated kernel
eyeballer's opengl 4.9, updated kernel take 2 (current setup)
I would like to know if others have the same experience with "HQ" working for what seem to be non-HD videos and not working when the video actually appears to be HD.

Hi All, I've just joined this forum so apologies if this question has been asked before..
I recently bought the chromecast and so far loving it! But lately whenever I try and cast a tab from Google Chrome to play a video (not Youtube), the video plays fine, but previously using Win+T I could toggle between the tab (currently playing full screen video) to another browser and use it simultaneously. I now find this is impossible, and not sure what the issue is. If I toggle between tabs, the video playing also minimizes..
Any help would be greatly appreciated and not sure if I have managed to explain it properly!
Thanks in advance..

Thank you for your quick reply! Reading the link you gave me I guess this is a known issue post update unfortunately...
I tried doing all the steps others have mentioned, but it still hasn't worked for me. Do you know if there is any other workaround for this or if Google is planning on fixing this in the future?

The "Fullscreen anything" extension didn't work for you?
I'm not sure whether it's Chrome itself, the page, the graphics card/driver, or what, but different people get different behavior.
I also don't know if it's meant to fullscreen on the desktop while doing other things or not. Might be the folks who have it working are just lucky.
Worth putting in a Chrome and Chromecast report anyway. If Google sees enough feedback, maybe they'll take a look.
