I have a Flip UltraHD video camera which I want to use with NC. I need to take videos off of UltraHD to copy to SD card on NC. I need a simple way to clear videos while on vacation with NC & Flip camera. Flip normally has to be connected to PC or Mac to offload videos. I want to use my rooted NC instead of carrying laptop around. I see other distro's, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS desktop, that can import the videos with f-spot, and watch them using VLC. Will the NC work for me?

Is there really no player avialable for N1 that can supports divx/xvid up to 1500kbit/s yet?
Im also waiting for this one. Have a 16gb sd card with a lit of space to put some divx movies in it. Always nice to watch movies in the train.

Google rock(divx)player. It is fairly new and handled my 900kbit/s avi fine, but my 720p 3000kbit/s movie ran at only 15fps (as expected).
Yeah, thats a start. But it seems that the rock-player is still a little slow, I was hoping there are allready solution that playes everything (sd) pain-free like tcmp or coreplayer on windows mobile. I know the coreteam is working on a port but there is no timetable yet.
Isn't it possible to just port the divx-player (or the entire rom) from the htc desire?
Cam amyone point me in the right direction to get movies or tv shows on my phone...
Rip a DVD on your computer>transfer them to your phone!
D:
Or if you have windows 7 and a tuner card you can record whatever you want - then transfer over to the phone. I use iPodifier to convert to MP4.
The Search function will show you other threads where your question has been asked.
I use Handbrake to rip DVD's to m4k format. Rename the extension to mp4, then copy to your SD card. Works perfectly for me every time.
Hi All,
having had my Galaxy S for a few weeks now I am still struggling to find an itunes/ipod equivalent. I really would like to get rid of iTunes but it made using the iPhone as an iPod very easy.
I drive a lot and listen predominantly to tech podcasts and audio books. Audio books are nicely taken care of with the audible app. I don't want to download podcasts on the Galaxy, because I want to keep some podcasts and that is easier to manage on the PC. I want to be able to sync my phone and automatically get a playlist of podcasts I haven't listened to yet.
So, I have been experimenting with MediaMonkey, Winamp, DoubleTwist, and The Missing Sync.
What I have noticed is that if I connect the Galaxy to a VmWare XP Virtual Machine all the programs work fine, but natively on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, I get odd behaviour:
Winamp, DoubleTwist, and the Missing Sync all will not recognize that I have connected the Galaxy. Yes it is in Mass storage mode, yes I have mounted the phone, yes I can see the drives in explorer and happily drag files to and from both the internal storage and the SD card.
Is anyone successfully using any of these applications with a 64 bit version of Windows 7?
Or has anyone had similar problems?
I need to know what settings or what file type of video files I can use on my NC running phiremod 6.3. I am using handbrake. I have a ton (about 500) movies on my computer currently ecoded with Nero recode into a ipod classic format. The file type is .mp4. The nook can't seem to play them. I then converted them using the handbrake regular "high" setting. After it got done, the nook couldn't play it. I was using double twist as my player.
What am I doing wrong? or what do I need to do differently? Thanks.
I am taking a long trip and I don't want to take my laptop to watch movies, that is why I am putting them on there.
You have to encode the videos in a VERY particular way (just like iDevices). Here is how:

Thanks. Perfect. Exactly what I needed. Already converted a couple of shows.
Hi,
I've had my 4X HD for about a week now and love it to bits. It's a great replacement for my previous phone (Nokia N900). I only so far have one problem.
I use ps3 media server and tversity to stream to ps3. My n900 could also see these media servers and copy / paste from the out of the box. Which is what i want to be able to do with my 4X HD. Basically i want to copy / paste my music files over to the external sd card via these. I cannot seem to find an app suitable for this and this doesnt appear to be something out of the box either. Can anyone suggest an app for this?
Thanks.
