I Plan On Being the Youngest Dev, Could any1 help me out with this?
Im 14 And im a very determined person and a fast learner..
I love to learn new things and Dev is the best way to learn new things to me..

The best advice I can give you: Go in and get your hands dirty.
Grab the ADK by natalic
It contains ubuntu and all the developer tools you'll need to get started.
Grab an RUU from Shipped ROMS and try to port it to the hero. Check the resource in my sig for guides on porting.
You'll run into hundreds of problems, but if you're patient, and attempt to learn, you'll get through it with a terribly great understanding of HOW the file system works in Android.
Once you've gone through all that. You'll still end up with some problems that can only be fixed by having proper programming language understanding.
Go buy a book on C and JAVA. Read it, then read it again, then do the examples, then read it again, then try to fix your problems; and finally, share your findings with everyone here.

can someone cross compiling arm 6 to arm7 processor files?

Sorry for sounding like a newbie and dumb question. But can anyone here work on doing this?
I wouldn't mind waiting for 6 month or something.

Oh, I take that back, apparently he "wouldn't mind waiting"...

Someone made the comment in another thread that I almost replied to but didn't.
The comment was along the lines of "devs are dropping like flies". The posts by OP are one reason why. You share your hard work with everyone, and all they do is cry and complain and beg for more.
This is one of the reasons why I only build ROMs for myself. I don't want to deal with people like OP.
So here is to all the developers present and past who share their work: Thank you.

...most dumb post I've ever seen in the last months.
I really trying to raise the user experience of users by spending a lot of time and effort in those mods....and I'm doing a lot of mods as you can see in my signature.
Well you can believe it or not, I dont just spent hours on those mods, more like days and weeks. On my leedroid tweaks project even months.
..and I'm doing this for fun and SHARE it with YOU for FREE!
So what the problem when I just put one rule up for DEVS and THEMERS to wait a t least on week before including it?
On that way I can ensure some activity in my threads and not to lose all users by day one, because all are kanging me on day two?

Look at yourself, too much ignorant7dumb users here just leechicng stuff without beeing able to eben thank a dev for therer time spending in their projects.

Dumb? Asking people to wait a week to get permission to use your work and you call me dumb? Yea request they ask your permission and give you credit for your hard work but wait a week! Man people like you is what's wrong with xda and no dumb leechers in here. The guy posted and stated it wasn't his work and direct linked to your thread. No problem with that at all. All he did wrong was provid file on download. He was tryna to help not leech. There is a major difference

What **** did you develop for me to play with dude? How many chefs are there on xda providing Roms for how many devices! Chefs are not gods mate as without us mere users there would be no need for chefs. One can't go without the other. This is your worst post on here as well! Know your place dude for real! I don't have an attitude, and develop my rom for my pleassure....
I don't need users, this is made to make MY phone look nice, and if other people like it, they are free to use it.

lol if you didnt need users why be a dev on here and make your rom public? you would just keep it for your own private consumption period. the mere fact it is here on xda means you crave that following that comes from users liking your work and thanking you for it! i like your work but wont kiss ass because i do! if you posted something i didnt like id tell you same way! you must have had people who didnt like your work but you didnt stop all dev cause of it did you? we are adults in here and this childish attitude is not acceptable.

But we are NOT all adults here, and English is for a lot NOT there native language...
So the way you write down your opinion is very delicate.
I respect you for what you do for the community, even if your not called a dev.
You are a very helpfull person... Thats why I did not expect you to write your opinion like the way you do.

Has anyone tried this method of rooting the Turbo?

Just saw this and it looks like a work around to paying $20 but was curious if its legit?

I wouldn't touch it man. It's even more sketchy that there is a 5.0 rom underneath it when our device doesn't have one. I think this may be labeled turbo but intended for the international version. I'm no dev, but I would not touch this until someone tears apart the apk and gives the green light that it's not bs.

This is why developers stop or do not work on making LOCKED PHONES UNLOCKED OR ROOTED. PAY THE $20.00 that is cheap for what you are getting also the work and hours one puts into this. WOW this makes me so mad. This is why I walked away from XDA years ago when I made ROMs for eris,razer and other phones. There is users out there that still try to rip off the only ones willing to help you unlock or root your phone. WOW "I saved $20.0 " man oh man.

Damn, I can rock me some lollipop on my old omnia i9000. This is the best thing evar! I though verizon was going to make me stay on windows 6.1 forever! Thanks soooo much for posting this!

i have my omnia too. cracked screen, no battery, and beaten. cant wait for lollipop on it. that could be your best project yet, Adrynalyne!. ba ha ha ha. omnia- the iphone killer. i do miss the mouse pointer/track button, though.

Did you even bother looking at the website? He was curious about the legitimacy of the website, not whether it was worth $20 to root your device.
You know what makes me mad? When people jump to conclusions. This is why I rarely us XDA nowadays... so much emotion for a such a small thing.

Porting Sony Xperia z rom

Would any dev be interested in porting over the xperia rom from Sony? I got $100 for a fully ported, and stable xperia rom. Any takers?

I don't think the bounty will help. .if someone wants to do.it, they will. If someone doesn't want to do it, its a lot of work involved for $100..very under paid work.

Well i dont think that 100$ is enough IF you spend lets say- 50+hours on a port. But thats just my opinion.

The work done for free is done by people who enjoy it. They do it because they want to. If someone wants to do it, they will.
If someone doesn't want to do it, a bounty of $100 doesn't come anywhere close to being a big enough incentive for the amount of time and effort it will take.
