Interesting thing also is that it comes with Co-pilot Live and not TomTom
Picked up mine today....very happy with it.
It comes with Co-pilot live V7 which is great, also full Car kit, Mount and holder which is made in Germany...looks the same as the brodit....and included is also the car charger.
U guys get a lot of things in the box. Enjoy ur Phone
Yeah...I am really pleased with it. I had a Universal before and loved that but it was just to big, also I could never get it fully compatible with the 3 network. I was worried about going from a VGA screen to QVGA....but I have already got use to it.
Copilot Live 7.0 issues
Guinevere,
I've purchased the HTC TYTN II from Three and absolutely love it!
just wondering if you had problems with Copilot Live 7? It seems that this version does not let you add custom POI's to its database. Also, the Safety Camera option is greyed out.
This same problem occurs on the desktop version as well (Copilot Central).
Any thoughts? Thanks!
How's Copilot 7? I haven't seen/used it since 5. It used to work great =)
When it comes to bundled goodies, North America really sucks. Luckily I still have family in Hong Kong and getting them to buy stuff there for me works out nicely.
i thought that htc had a contract with tomtom.
1099 is that with a full version of copilot?
a little off topic here but i was browsing the 3 website and trying to figure out what you guys pay for your wireless, 35 cents for 30s so with the 49 dollar plan you get 70 mins? am i understanding that right?
$29 for 1GB wow do you guys just get the cheap 29 cap and use msn with a data plan?
Well apparently in Australia, HTC's contract is with Copilot.
The Copilot Live 7 is a full version, with a few limitations as I previously pointed out (you can't update safety cameras or POIs).
Copilot Live 7 has a very much improved interface from version 6. It looks very pretty and very snappy in performance. It seemed to have learned from TomTom in terms of it's ease of use and its overall GPS experience.
neotekz, answering your questions about the 3 Network, I think you've misread it. Those price plans are what they call "Caps", meaning once you reach a certain amount of spend, you don't pay anymore till a certain allowed limit. The $29 Cap plan gives you a $120 spend limit, and another extra $70 for calls between 3 customers. So in theory, you get $190 to spend a month, which is pretty good deal. The higher the cap, the more credit you get.
The Data plans are separate. They start from $3 a month...
Excellent Value
That is a great deal. Stores here are charging $1200 and delivery end of Nov.
Can you give details of the ROM? Thanx

Just bought this phone on a whim. $150, Fi. Did I do good? Or am I missing something?

I was kinda just annoyed at how crappy the cameras all are on the phones I have, so I was looking around, and saw Google Fi was selling this "Android One Moto X4". $150 plus comes $50 bill credit, plus they say they'll give me $85 bucks trade in for a Galaxy S7 Edge I have. Is this the same phone y'all are talking about? Is there some catch I'm missing, is this a crippled version or something? Is Google Fi now doing contracts? Or something? Or is this phone a lot cheaper/crappier than I thought it would be? Is $150 about right?
Yeah that's the right price. The no hassle price is $165. Great phone. Unlock bootloader and do the GCAM mod. It's a big difference in low light. Phone is great for what you get at the price. I bought one for my wife and me. We are very happy. The limited waterproofing is an awesome bonus.
Understand that most people here are probably a little biased so I will try to limit mine.
- Moto x4 is a great bang for your buck. While not a flagship phone, it is also not priced that way.
- With Android One build from Google Fi, you get Android Pie (which people have mixed emotions about) and at least another year or two of security updates.
- Google Fi is not a contract. It is month to month but their credits are rolled out over months based on your bill. If you finance a phone through Google, you will have to pay the balance remaining if you cancel early.
- The Android One OS is a very clean, bare bones Android build that does not include the bloated crapware that other phones come with. Moto Actions are limited on Android One build but they include the ones you need the most (chop chop = flash light; swivel-swivel = camera; face down = do not disturb).
My phone is snappy and responsive. I like having a headphone jack, it being waterproof and the micro SD card. Both my wife and I are very satisfied with the phone.

Question Pixel trade in values

Does anyone remember what Google was giving for the Pixel 6 when the Pixel 7 came out?
It's at a steal @ $449 right now.... actually the same price as the Pixel 6a which is just.. odd I guess. I wonder if they didn't sell as many P7 as they thought?
Anyway, I'm considering buying a 2nd Pixel 7 just to hold onto and trade in for the Pixel 8.
If they offer even $500 I'd consider it worth it..
I do like having a backup device and I really like the Pixel 7.
Maybe I'll wait for the P7a to come out and just see what the price is sitting at then.
I have to admit too that the P7a looks pretty sick even if they are bumping it up $50. Consider it a $50 90Hz charge I guess.
But any info is appreciated.
One more question.
So I have a BEAT up Pixel 5.. like smashed to ****, camera glass is completely off.
However it turns on and works despite all that..
Google is offering $230 for the P5 in this "condition" -- but it only asks 2 questions which is kind of surprising, or on purpose.
Free of cracks -no
Turn on - yes
Can I hear some experiences with the Google trade-ins please by those who've gone this route.
Personally, if they decide it's not worth anymore than say.. idk $150 (OR LESS!), that sucks.
And from what I've read, they will give you Google credit if you cancel, which I think I woud.
Would this credit be able to be used for a device in the future, or is it stuck for apps and games.
Thank you again. Why sit on a beat up P5, if I can get a P7 for around $220... If everything goes according to plan.
I traded in my P6 to Google for a credit of $479 and grabbed a P7 for $499. It's a simple process, really. They'll send you a box, you send your old phone back, they take a look at it, and either give you a credit or a refund to your bank account (they gave me a choice at the time) for the amount they determine. It took about 7-10 days as a transaction.
I believe the credit can be used for a device purchase from their store, apps, or games. As long as you're giving them your $ somehow, that's all they really care about.
*Crafty thinking about stockpiling the P7 for an 8 upgrade

Let's try to bump this thread a bit. The P7P has its own thread about upgrading to the p8p. So yes if they give me a good deal on the P8 like they did*for* the P7 trade-in then for sure the P8 will be pre-ordered. Especially if the size is 6.1 as reported. I actually forgot exactly what I got for it but I don't think I paid more than 200 and possible less after trade-in. Sending it back was painless and I got my credit within a week. Plus I got another 100 for my friend buying one albeit on the Google store for whatever. And my wife got one too for her P5 which I'm sure she'll want to trade-in as well since it's a little big for her.
might not be directly relevant to you but I just ordered pixel 7 in UK on the following terms:
-phone costs £550;
-iphone 13 trade in valued at £580.
so I should be getting a refund of £30 in the form of store credit which looks like a great deal.
I was a little apprehensive about dealing with Google because they can have - to be polite - not the greatest customer service if you have a technical issue (Google Fi issues in the past, don't get me started...arrrrgh...t-mobile to the rescue) But the trade in process was easy and I have no complaints.
Love my p7 - it's my best phone since my Galaxy Nexus from back in the day of the swappable battery. I know there are better phones out there, but for the price you can't beat the p7 & hopefully the p8 is better.
They are on the right path, and as long as Google doesn't "Google" (aka, ditch a good product before it's had time to mature and gain market share) they can achieve the success they've been looking for with their Pixel lineup. The G3 chip or even G4 chip can be a game changer for them, but they have to keep the investment $ coming in. You have to spend $ to make $, but as of now they will be getting my $ because I like what I'm getting.

Kind of veering off topic a bit but we can keep the thread going since the 7a is coming out tomorrow and the P8 probably in October. I agree the P7 is the best I've had since probably the P5 and before that the 5X or Nexus OG. So I'll keep it if the P8 doesn't give the discount that the P7 did. I think I paid $100 after trade-in on my P6a. So if the 8 is smaller or even close to my P5 I'm all in. If it's the same size as the 7 I'll wait until they make me a deal I can't refuse.
As for Fi, that was a disaster albeit a good idea that never materialized. The support was non existent and now they can't even get the eSim working reliably without trashing the EID on the phone requiring a replacement. Ahh.. the replaceable battery, the good ol' days. But not waterproof so there's that too. The trade-in for both the P6a and the P5 (wife) to the P7 was flawless for me too.
