This is great work. I was looking for just the right widget to go with my SteelBlue themed Fascinate & this is it. Thanks
Updated for 0.4.2.24! Check the OP.
looks great works awsome...anybody know if work has been done to create skinned versions of other popular widgets? There are multiple options for smoked, transparent, and other skins, but I can't find anything as far as honeycomb skins (besides this very well done google voice one that is)
Thanks
Any particular requests?

I hesitate to answer this, because as I've seen on the other skinners' threads, the flood gates open on anybody taking requests, but for me the big ones are the genie widget, youtube, audiomanager, winamp, colorize (the ones that are free anyway), and springpad.
Send me the apks for genie and audiomanager.

Youtube is done! I only have an HDPI device so I'm not sure if the MDPI widget will look right. I'd like someone to test for me.
Should I make a new thread for it or should I make one thread with all of my Honeycomb-themed widgets?
My new hero. I'm not sure if this is considered uncool, but rather than sending you individual apks for everything, here is my source for everything I used (and more) prior to my honeycomb kick.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731625
And I would think you keep everything in one thread, just structure it similar to how he did with the smoked widget thread in that linked post. The transparent theme that I have also used did very much the same thing. I'm not sure how much work it takes to do these, let me know if there is anything I can do in the way of photoshopping or anything simple like that.
Thanks again.

I can't find any Audio Manager widget in that thread, am I missing something?
Also, here's GenieWidget. No MDPI for now, I'll get around to it later.
Geniewidget and youtube both look great, thanks a ton. I am having a hard time with attaching files, so here is the audiomanager homepage that looks like it links the file. If you would want to publish this skin in the market I would happily throw a buck or two at this.

Ooh, that looks interesting! I think I'll use the honeycomb signal bars for the level meters, I'll do it when I get home.
Is it legal for me to sell a skin for that app?
tons of others in the market are doing it. I've bought a few already, its far to easy to just buy crap in there, I don't even want to know the total I've racked up since going to android...
How about Pandora? That would be sweet.
Could you do one for Go SMS Pro?
No problem, once I get home!
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
LOL, I'm sorry about this, the floodgates are beginning to open on you and I feel responsible. You should get yourself one of them fancy donate links, because I think once this catches on the honeycomb widgets are going to be extremely popular. I already feel indebted.
And to all, if you get never ending force-closes on anything, do a fix permissions. I had this with the Genie Widget and youtube, cleaned it right up.
Could you also do the Google Search widget? I'm on a droid X, rooted with liberty GB 0.5. The themer that did my honeycomb theme did not do any stock widgets to compliment his otherwise very good work.
No problem at all, at least I have something to do now that my classes have all become parties (end of year ftw)!
I added a donation link in the OP. Currently working on Winamp.
Edit: Okay, Winamp's coming along. What do you guys think?
that winamp is sweet. 16 years old, man do i feel stupid sometimes. If only the time existed to learn and execute some of this stuff.....
At least you listen to good music, rare for a sixteen year old nowadays....
Anyway, some suggestions for the OP, I don't think you need to have a seperate screen shot for everything, just load up everything on as few screens as possible and put all the download links together, think it will be cleaner that way (though probably a little more hassle for you since I imagine you do all your work on your actual phone). And definately put all new things in the OP, as opposed to having every new widget posted randomly throughout the thread. Not hatin or trying to be bossy cause I definately appreciate what you are doing, just trying to help.

if you can make a lite version without the adv. launcher and htc music, i will try this out in a heartbeat. also people without the 1.33.2005 spl may not be able to flash this because of htc music. i have noticed this problems in a few other themes with htc music.

Exactly.
Ti.. screenshots or gtfo .
^ took the words right out of my mouth
Screens so download it and sex it up on your g1.
not whining just my opinion, personally i would make the launcher tab a little darker (i can easily do that for personal use though), would shrink the garbage can some or delete it altogether, would delete the triangle on the launcher tab normal, not much else i can tell just from the screen shots lol. guess i will just have to give it a whirl (i will most likely remove htc music and adv. launcher though bc of personal preferences though). looks really cool and brought together, a really good mash up. looking forward to how this theme will look once you start to experiment with your own style thrown in (trust me if you keep at theme-ing it will happen).
Ya I have been toying around with and without the arrow and the garbage just needs to go. Agreed. Darker? I'll play with her private parts and see what I can do. The dark blues just blended to much. I like the color pop right up front. But experimenting always helps. Ya im not a good graphics person or I woulda made a lot of things different
Thanks though. I plan on making a lite without advanced and htc music. Also for 4.1.4 soon. And other roms as well. This is just my rough draft(it took me a week to get it out) cause I am a perfectionist and I kept thinking it wasnt good enough or ready but it wasnt fair to hog it to myself anymore. And i needed feedback.
Lemme know if you come across glitches and problems. Peace.
i will just wait until you make a lite version without htc music and adv launcher. i tried and messed something up. i kept getting acore force close. i think i botched removal of htc music and took a file i should've left.
So, this is for what ROM? Might help if you added that into the post & title....
please speculate as to the rom this is for?
Looks nice. Can you make the tab dark though?
looking good im glad to see my dialer in other themes
and blue does good for it
I just flashed it with Cyanogen 4.0.4. Worked fine. Looks nice just dont like the blue tab. Good job!
Thanks. Ya I really liked your dialer. I'm about to update it as soon as I can get this damn problem with the launcher worked out. It won't sign my updates right. With or without the launcher. I added the new settings apk stericson posted to rememedy to settings fc fix. That's when things stopped working ugh. Might just start over. Its ****ty. I made all the needed fixes made things darker etc. Ugh lol I am glad its getting some reponse. Ill figure it out tomorrow.
Hey- Just curious- I live on the north side of spokane; do you actually live here too?- [email protected]
Ha ya that's crazy crifman. I do. Where did you figure that out from?
[Note: since this deals with a specific app, I found it more fitting to be placed in the "Applications and Games" section than the "Themes and Wallpapers" section.]
With nearly 1,000 posts, the main GDE thread seems to be getting a bit cluttered. Discussion pertaining to app enhancements, bugs, and theming are making the thread a bit unnavigable, and I thought a secondary thread -- strictly related to theming -- would be quite helpful.
I was thinking this thread should encompass all theming discussion, along with screenshots and APKs of such themes. If you have a theme you'd like to share, please post with the name of the theme, a few screenshots, mention whether its available in the Market, and if possible, post an APK for download.
Of course, I have no affiliation with the app's development, nor do I wish to encroach on Rogro82's turf. I'm merely trying to better organize GDE discussion, for all-around more productive and effective development and feedback.
[Reserved for future use -- I'll be using this space to post a screenshot of each theme posted, which can be downloaded by clicking the respective image.]

It looks like he's using the PureCalendar widget (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=545097) with one of the many skins. I can't be entirely sure, though.
As for the other widget, of course, that's the Android Power Control one, which should be available with whatever ROM you're using.

Yup, that's the PureCalendar widget and the standard Power Control widget. The icons are the standard ones from the CM4.2.5 ROM I'm using.
does anyone have any theme request in the style of other OS's of phone UI's, for example i have done hero and iphone. they seem to be pretty popular so i wouldnt mind making a few more. if you have any ideas post them here and i will see what i can do.
edit: i might do a windows vista/7 style theme if i have some spare time
How about a nokia n97 theme
I asked awhile back in the original GDE post about a book theme.
I think that would be pretty neat especially if you could add your own text to the lines and such.
But a windows theme would be cool too, but specifically on Sweeterhome like I did attempt one time and got faiirly close but Sweeter home just isn't good enough yet.

im not too sure on how i would implemented a book theme. i think thats more on the transition effect side of things.
How about n97 theme or a pre theme
i will look into doing a pre theme. also i have finished the windows7 theme.
I've uploaded my first GDE Theme to the Android market. It's titled Blue Fuze - GDE Theme. I've attached some screenshots.
oh yeah a pre theme would be very nice!
any updates on a pre theme coming?
I'm reposting this here cos I'd really like some feedback on how these themes are looking on non-g1 devices.. specifically hdpi devices like the droid. Hope you like them.

Obsidian 2.0 and the counterpart Porcelain are up on the market, get them while they're fresh! Just search "goldenarmZ".
The new themes include a couple of fixes from Obsidian 1.0, New wallpaper in standard and hi-res editions, and a custom matching clock widget for each skin. I hope you will consider this worth the small fee I'm asking. I'm trying to raise the bar for GDE themes here but I can't afford to put much time in for free, I hope you all understand.
Thanks to all the people who installed and enjoyed the original Obsidian skin, I hope you enjoy it enough to upgrade!
More quality themes will be coming very soon!

ive ran Obsidian a few times on my Eris and it looks flawless.
very classy skin with no hiccups!
I ran obsidian on my hero for a while, it's excellent.
Bokeh
I am running Bokeh, it looks great on the Droid with HexFusion. I downloaded it for the drawer primarily because the cool GDE cube transitions limit what you can do with launchers and drawers.
Thanks for the feedback
There are a couple more themes up now, all designed to be pin-sharp on hdpi devices as well as standard. I've also just uploaded legacy versions for those poor souls still running cupcake with no prospects of an upgrade.
Keep checking the market, I've got plenty more ideas for GDE!
Just uploaded a new theme that fans of Obsidian might enjoy.. "Sicko"
This one should look badass on hi-res phones.
Gonna keep posting these here even though nobody replies I know you're looking.
New theme "Thrashed" is now in the market, pink and green versions available!
ur themes are nuts..they help my eris look nutty!
so i didnt quite find "sicko" but i did find "Obsidian 2.0" is that it?
lastly, if u can do the thrashed in a grey font that would be great!

My wife really likes the Thrashed Pink theme. But this is my first time messing with GDE. (Always ran launcher2 and MM/ROMs for themes) SO my question is, do you have or is there a way to get an Icon pack that matches the Thrashed theme? I have MM on her droid, so that would even work.
Thanks

..as the dude above me said, just need to find some kick ass icons to match ..

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this.. I forgot to check this thread.
GDE doesn't support icons as part of themes at the moment, but I think it's on the to-do list. The only way I could do it at the moment is metamorph but tbh, I've never looked into that.
I don't usually bother with custom icons because there's only so far you can take it.. there will always be unthemed icons in your tray, and that non-uniformity bothers me a lot more than using the stock icons. I may release some icons in the future if there's enough interest.
ok can we have one theme for free so we can try it out and see if we like your themes
I have tried a number of home replacement apps such as Ahome, Panda, Open Home Last night I scanned the GDE app and it is like a complete harmonious convergence on my Motorola Cliq Titanium. The GDE home replacement app just rocks and I like the organizational structure.
Sure GDE may not have as many skins and widgets as some of the other replacement programs but it seems they are starting to spawn now. I will trade off less comparative choice for stability. No repetitive forced closures or weird manifestations. Manipulating the GDE interface and submenu is smooth as silk.
Update: Alive on the android market. Search 'dark metro'. Can't link directly, xda rules. Also available through the Theme Manager app.
Recently started playing with all this theming stuff. I've been making a theme for LauncherPro Plus, even published it on SlideMe app market, but without much succes.. So I'm wondering if I'm theming something wrong. But as I can't expect myself to be objective, I need some feedback, user input, constructive criticism, so I could get better. I'd like to share ideas on this.
So.. a little Metro/WP7-inspired.. cause metro icons are just perfect Ladies & gentlemen, I present you Dark Metro Solid Black.

Now, as I am pedantic about the design, there always has to be (at least there should be) a matching icon pack for every theme, especially in case of LauncherPro, and I found a few that go well with what I created, for instance, here on xda-dev forums, there's this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=924446
Really awesome metro icons pack by Weudel, with help from GinoCorleone. You'll get high-res 256x256 png files from it, that although seem like better, they looked kinda weird on my phone, so I experimented and found out that smaller resolution versions, say 60x60, 48x48 actually look better.
It has something to do with android system resizing images. Anyways, to save you the hassle with resizing, you can grab a resized zip from my blog (with permission from the creator, credit goes to Weudel for this)
It's also possible to find the official WP7 icon set on the net, but xda has it's rules, and I can't link to it/post it.
And btw, speaking of metro icons, some people might find it useful - try googling MetroStation by yankoa. Black, blue, white. Huge. You'll love it.
Again, no linking, sorry people.
Speaking of wallpaper, bright, warm colors suit this theme the best. I particulary like sportscars, so picking the one you see on screenshots was a no-brainer to me.. if you like it too, pm me.
I posted some stuff more and hints on this theme back on my blog, like a matching Minimalistic Text widget settings. If you really like it, feel free to drop by.
Aaaah, one more IMPORTANT thing - there's some weird bug when browsing black icons in gallery 3d and quickpic (two gallery apps I'm using, don't know about other cases), but don't go ka-boom just yet.. Dirty fix that goes for all black/dark icons - just pick the ones you'd like to have in your dock, name them like 1.png, 2.png, 3.png etc, the open the right folder in your gallery app, and they will be 1,2,3 in the first row, 4,5,6 in the second, and so on in the lower rows from the top. Just pick blindly by number, you'll get the ones you want.
Also, if you have some questions, like for instance newbie questions (how do I setup this or that), just PM/mail me. I mean, I'm new to this myself.. heh.
Reserved for world domination purposes/maybe an additional setup guide to keep it clean from post #1.
This looks great. Very nice work.

Just a quick update - it's alive on the market now! I managed to pull this off with a little help from a friend in the US.
Just search 'dark metro launcher pro' or simply 'dark metro'. Enjoy!
Also, I'm toying with some stand-alone widgets to match the theme. And probably a custom widget locker skin would be a good idea. But for now, studies take most of my time. At least for a week.
Nice man! It looks nice and clean.
Thanks. Nice and clean is exactly what I aimed.
Minimalistic is jazzy. It's a trend, a fashion. A design philosophy, a very appealing one.
But on the other hand, desktop has to be productive. I had a minimalistic rainmeter win7 desktop, and I loved it, but when it came to the development of this theme, I just turned it off and went for the icon/folder cluttered simple desktop. Cause it's faster, more productive, when you have all them crappy folders on your desktop instead of jumping from one location to another to search stuff on your hdd.
So one has to balance. Be minimalistic, but productive. But minimalistic!
So I chose LauncherPro as a base, because it's very productive with it's widgets, everything one needs right there on the desktop. Twitter, facebook, bookmarks, calendar, agenda, you name it. Well-thought.
Just a little metro love (round icons, whoooh).. Some dark shades.. and ka-boom.
Nice! It looks so nice!!

+ If you have any requests of your own msg me (PM) or email me if you don't do that already, haha. Enjoy!
Don't see a download link for "gauges"? Great work tho!
Requests-
App drawer
Facebook Messenger
Pandora
Twitter
wow
very nice!
Another free utility iconset--comes in 4 Google colors as specified by the lil lady that requested these, and standard gray for the boys. Recommend a light homescreen setup for these but you all know what you're doing
Considering making a matching apps iconset out of this as well, and having it be my first attempt at an icontheme apk. Will see after the weekend

Gauges are paid work chum check tumblr for details.
Also I'll get right on adding your requests--I've personally just been using the launcher icons (Nova Icon for Nova drawer etc) for appdrawer as I find the standard drawer icon pretty ugly, haha. But I shall add it toute suite
Sweet! Thanks
Another request.. xda

Man cut the requests bit I can do you one better, haha--as promised I've finally gotten around to scrapping zips and will be starting to distribute iconsets in apk form instead. One click themes all by popular request
I want to thank my buddy bagarwa around the forums for his helping me find my feet using Eclipse; without his help I'd probably still be a week or so from figuring it all out, haha. Anyhow without further ado I decided my first apks should be the iconsets that netted me the most please do iconsets in apk form already plz msgs--will most definitely be converting the others in the coming days, in the meantime make do with the iconzips
+ Check OP for downloads and be sure to let me know how they work for you!
Thanks for the apk sets! They are much easier to use than zips! You're work is fresh and unique! Can't wait to see what else you come up with! Great job!

Don't worry about my requests. The apk set covered them all. The only thing I noticed with the set (using apex), if i try to edit just 1 icon, when I click the soundproof set (did it for glass cut too tho), it doesnt show anything.

Yeah this was actually done on purpose; I want to keep the apk footprint of each of my apps as microscopic as possible (under 400kb each!) out of consideration for users without expandable storage, and the general consensus is pretty agreeable. I'm not 100% sure what you mean by editing just one icon, but wouldn't simply drag & dropping a single app from apptray do the trick of getting a lone themed icon on your screen?
Made a set of icons to match the utility set I made the other day then wound up throwing together a quick homescreen setup to match that, haha
Built my own set of BBB-style slidebar uccws and a picture frame clock from scratch--let me know if you'd like me to share the frameclock

Really Great Work you are putting out here for us. Thanks for that and also for converting to apk too. Much easier.
