[Q] Games for 2.3

So, now that gingerbread has been released and the fact that it was "geared towards gaming", have we even seen ANY games released specifically for it? I've tried googling, looking in market, etc, etc, etc. but anything I search on google returns nothing but news about the release of gingerbread and anything i search on market returns...nothing.
I'm deployed overseas right now and some new games would be pretty awesome to tinker around with.

I haven't noticed any new for gb games, but I have noticed that a few games that I couldn't play on my aria/froyo due to fc issues now run flawlessly on cm7.

The full version of robo defense would constantly fc on me. I'm also now able to use some console emulators I wasn't able to before.

Aria is not the best gaming platform as many of the good games uses ARMv7 instructions while our beloved Aria has just a ARMv6 cpu :/

One thing I have noticed is that I cannot run Need For Speed Shift on CM7. I could run it with no problems on CM6 but it shows the splash screen and then shuts down. I tried reinstalling it several time, and nothing. Has anyone else tried any graphics intensive games on CM7? NFS is the only one I have.
Every other game runs just fine. Robo Defense Full ran just fine on CM6 and just as good on CM7 for me.

App like vplayer

Is there a good free app like vplayer that will play all videos I put on my xoom it works great but only works for 7 days and u gotta pay

Rockplayer is free but if vplayer does everything you need why don't you just buy it?

/sign.... rockplayer is good, and free, but just buy vplayer if he fits your bill perfectly....

Try QQPLAYER free from market. It plays everything I use, has subtitle support and works great. Or just buy what you like.

Cuz spent like 30 bucks on apps since got xoom and love em all but got save money for classes and xoom wasn't cheap it self lol and I won't pirate android apps

I have tried them all and vplayer is by far the best. It's only like 3 bucks...you will probably waste that much in snacks during a days work anyway.
Also i dont mind buy apps.... buy more apps --developers make more money- more developers come-more apps-buy more apps...

It installed (the driver) and booted fine. Not sure how to really test the app though. Any ideas?

Haha,
I tried n64oid for a few minutes and it seemed to work fine on some commercial stuff. Way better than it was when I tried it back in August, but I'm not sure if it was their software or the Chain3D.

How to Get Gameloft Games to Work on Vivid

NOTE: This does require that you purchase the game on the market first
1. Install Chrome and get the extension APK Downloader found here

2. Transfer APK to phone
3. Install and open app and it should recognize the device and download required files
Will add more games to the list as tested

Not Working:

The method mentioned above works for some is because those apps actually do work for the Vivid, just that the developer may have not updated the compatibility list. But if the app is actually not compatible, then there really isn't any way to make it happen besides sending a request to app developer for adding support.

Its asphalt 6 which I thought this extension worked for. If not I shall wait for it to become compatible.

Yeah I tried it on Asphalt and it did work. This is the only work around I know of that can get you the official working game legitimately.

Someone said I can email gameloft with my order numbers. And they'll send me special apks. So I tried that. No response yet. Big company so ill know soon if they actually do that.

Hey guys, just a little input. I haven't tried any of my gameloft games on the Vivid, I did notice they didn't show up in the market. I had the same issue with my HTC flyer tablet. All you have to do is e-mail Gameloft and tell them the issue and they'll e-mail you a direct download link to the game.

I got Gameloft to email me a "working" version of asphalt 6. It plays fine and runs fluid. Problem is, there is some horrible graphic glitches. Instead of rendering smoke, light beams or pretty much anything translucent, it renders the bounding box. On a few tracks where there is fog or sun burst, the game is nearly unplayable.

I got the apk installer working no problems. Works for free games, but not my purchased games. I go to Asphalt 6 and the button to download the apk doesn't show but if I go to the free version, it shows. Did ya'll get it to work on any paid games and if so, how?

It used to work, but a later update of the extension disabled it.

Gameloft can't even put up a working copy of asphalt 5 or asphalt 6 at the moment, check out the google play reviews by device!

try chainfire 3d in ur cm rc 5.5, i hope the game will works after that.

Pratap 6789 have asked for the link of shadow gun so here it is and no link for data files have downloaded the data files within the app over night and it just download about 180 mib for running
I have downloaded the game from media fire but this page contains the direct link for shadow gun v1.1.0

But why shadow gun always force close in my sgp. Never running
I am using gingerbread 2.3.6
Stock Rom & til now not rooted .

maybe you can root and use chain fire 3d powerVr plugin to play in your galaxy pop but m playing it on my captivate it also need a huge amount of ram so better partition your sdcard for creating swap partition of around 512 mb
