Hi !
Is there a way to get back to an official SGS ROM in order that the phone could be detected by Kies ?
Other question : could someone explain me the difference between JPY, JS3, JS5, ... ?
Thanks a lot for your responses !
In advance, I'm sorry but english is not my mother tongue, so sorry for the mistakes
Kies requires official rom product code hardware code etc to upgrade .
Unless you saved the rom that came with the phone then you have probably lost Kies upgrade .
Stock firmware is available but that's not what came with the phone .
Possible Kies workaround via Kies Registry Patcher in themes section but it may no longer work .
JPY, JS3, JS5,
Builds as in A first B next .
All froyo 2.2.1 builds .

I have unbranded XEO version, and I stopped waiting for official update today. I've recovered 3-button mode and flashed first XWJPA, and then XXJPX, and now I have Android 2.2.1 on my SGS.
I suggest you stop waiting too.
Take that Samsung
hey fellas
i got the stock telstra 2.1 running properly now ( just trying something )
and want to find out how i can update to a american 2.2, or anywhere that has 2.2 released
i want the ROM to be a stock though, and not via ODIN
can someone please help me?
cheers.
Only method is to use something like the rom kitchen or use Kies Registry patcher to spoof phone details .

Hi I am new here and so this is my first post.
I am using a Vodafone Samsung Galaxy I9000 and I am wanting to flash it to one of the 2.3.3 available on SamFirmware. I am not new to flashing firmwares and have done it on many other devices I have owned over the years, but none as important as my phone.
My reason for flashing is Vodafone are terrible with updates. I only got 2.2.1 in January.
My questions are...
Which firmware do I choose? (on samfirmware it says use samfit to check something, but I am not quite sure what it is I am supposed to check for? My cirrent firmware is I9000BUJS3)
I have read the instructions on how to do it, but do I need to do anything before hand?
Official Samsung 2.3.3 was released yesterday . You may care to wait for the official upgrade for your phone through Kies .
Current Samfirmware are for Nordic region NEE . Samfirmware i s not Samsung they just collect whats around .
If you want then use the last firmware posted on samfirmware .
Or wait a week or so and build your own rom in rom kitchen . I say wait until the devs have worked through all the fixes and themes etc .

Hi Guys,
Well I got voodoo working correctly on my phone, and the speed is much better but there is still some lag at times.
I'm wanting to upgrade to android 2.2.1 on Vodafone network here in New Zealand.
My first question is where do I download 2.2.1 for my phone and is there a tutorial which will tell me how to flash 2.2.1?
Cheers,
if u have Kies on ur comp u shd be able to update it from there
if not than download some non official rom from samfirmware.com
to be on the safe side back up ur Rom
