File Station - Xoom Themes and Apps

Came across this file manager for honeycomb. Looks pretty neat and works good on the Xoom.

Thanks, works great

Nice. We are up to 101 tablets apps now!

interface is nice, but limited in it's options...
ES file Explorer is pretty clean, tablet wise (not sure why it still has an xmas background image though), and Root File Explorer is far and away my "go to" for this kind of stuff.
I do like the layout of this new one, but no option to turn on file extensions, and doesn't support full root access.

I use ES Explorer because it can extract ZIP files. Does File Station extract ZIP files? Also, any apps to extract other archives (rar, etc.)?

How to access Windows shared folder?

Is there an easy way to browse files in the Windows' shared folder?
ie. to copy/play mp3s,videos,documents, etc stored in your windows file server from nexus one.
cheers
ASTRO File manager, EStrongs Explorer.
In general on any non-Windows platform, if you'd like to access Windows file shares, look for a program that supports "SAMBA".

I second E strong. Fantastically easy setup.
Are you sure Astro does samba ?
Latest update brings the ability to load 2 add-on modules, one for Samba and one for BT. Both are free on the market, but need to be downloaded in addition to Astro main module.
Thanks guys, the Astro file manager works great!

What File Manager is on the Droid 3?

Does anyone know what file manager comes with Verizon's version of the Droid 3? I'd like to use it on my Kindle Fire as it's got a nice clean interface and works just the way I expect it too, so no relearning anything.
I tried backing up the apk and moving it to my Fire, but it won't install. I'm assuming some graphical resources are missing or something like that, though I don't really know. I was hoping if I could identify it I could find a stand alone apk to install.
All I know about the program is that it's 92K on the phone, and is called simple "Files."
Thanks
Files comes as a system app on our Droid 3s. This is probably why it won't install on your Fire or like you said because of graphical..etc.
If you have your device rooted, you could try to place the FileManager.apk in the system\app folder and set the permissions to Owner: Read/Write, Group: Read, and Others: Read. (You can do this using ADB as well) and reboot. This should install the app.
However I would suggest just trying ES File Explorer instead, it should be compatible with your kindle. Good luck
Yes, I've got Es File Explorer and Astro File Manager installed, and while they work fine, I like Files' simplicity and look and feel.
It was worth a shot.
Thanks

[Q] No file explorer on AOKP build 37?

I just came from cm9 to AOKP. Flashed it last night with no problem. Now I don't have file explorer on AOKP. anyone experienced it?
Just push it to your device and sideload it with adb-install or something.
With my touchpad, I always use ES File Explorer as my file explorer of choice. It's free on the play store and it works quite well. It can also be put in root explorer mode and comes with a text editor as well, which comes in handy for changing moboot stuff in the boot folder.

Root directory

Hello I'm looking to play some gameloft games on my TP,so I need to change build.prop file. But there isn't any files in root category. How to get these files?
The built-in file explorer doesn't let you see the root directory. You can use something like Root Explorer (paid app from the Market), or an equivalent, to see it.
Besides, build.prop is located in /system

If you're rooted, you can use es file explorer (along with some other ones). In settings, click on the 'rooted' box and also on the mount box. Free in Google play. The build.prop file is in /system
+1 on ES
