Hi is there a way to recover the stock cog 4.1.1 wallpaper without flashing again? (The blue diagonal wave) I'm not sure where the directory is located to assign it again. Its the nicest version so far imo. Help please.
Not positive but Titanium backup might have this available if you backup all user apps + system data. Obviously do not restore all user apps + system data. Instead uncheck everything and look for the wallpaper option.

I don't remember what Cog runs, but I'll throw in my two cents
Normally, wallpapers are found in Launcher.apk, but like I said, I'm not sure if Cog comes with Launcher.apk or if it uses TouchWiz. If it uses TouchWiz, I would assume it's in one of its APKs, though I can't tell you which one as I've always hated TouchWiz and now I don't have my phone to mess around with it (replaced by HTC Inspire all the way ~).
Try framework-res.apk in the the res/drawable-hdpi folder. Its called default_wallpaper. From the Atrix, I believe.

i'm looking for a transparent/shaded status or taskbar notification background. so what im really looking for is the background of the pull down tab to be specific. ive found one on this forum but metamorph wont let me flash it and i cant flash it because the package isnt signed.... let alone i do not know if it actually works or not ^^;;
a little info on my phone... im on a HTC Tattoo (Click) with 2.2 froyo without sense ROM.
ive attached the file so you guys can see. oh and another thing ive been having some sort of weird problem with my metamorph where when i start it it has to do a check but it says that i dont have enough memory but i definitely do have more than enough on the SD card and the phone.
thanks in advance!
your lack of experience shows. if you want help, find the specific png (aka image) that you are speaking about. then type it out here for people to read. then rather than posting a whole framework randomly, post something useful, like the image itself. explain what it looks like and then explain your 50% transparency request.
for example: i got that from your request, you want this image called status_bar_background. i made it 50% transparent myself and am showing you it using tinypic.com where you can upload any image for free and post it using the code.
the left image is the actual png image in framework-res.apk/framework/drawable-hdpi. the right image shows what it looks like on your phone.

im new to android and im wanting to customize my captivate. i have launcher pro plus and ive tried to download a few icons and it says it cant open the file. the main one i remember doing is the silver ring on the birdman icons. can anyone help me to like a how to of some sort on how to get things going in the right direction or something.
Well i would start by rooting your phone. Im not sure but i think alot of themes ans icon packs require root. I am on my phone now so cant post links for you. But look for the one click app. Its easy to do.
i rather not root is there somethings i can do without rooting right now.

There is an app on the market called launcher pro icons. You have to pay for it but it is relatively cheap. Here is a sample

Launcher pro icons has several options. Pm me your email if you want with a general idea of what you are looking for
Or download the app
Captivate
Cog 2.4
no need to pay for icons or docks, they are all here:
http://www.launcherpro.com/forum/
Many of you unaware that the look of Cyanogenmod 7 doesn't represent the look of Android 2.3, with only the top bar looking like it did in 2.3 the rest is ADWLauncher, So with ADWlauncher ex you can customize the look more, And what i'm after is the remaining 2 things i need.

As you can see the dock isn't really the same as it is in 2.3 so anyone out there with the right file?
Also the drawer icon is low quality, all i need are those 2 items, please help me find them.
Did you try just taking the images directly out of a Gingerbread launcher.apk?
While I'm here, love the use of the new Chrome icon for the browser - would you mind uploading it?
EDIT: After fishing through a Gingerbread launcher.apk, it seems the dock background is actually made of multiple images, since there's no single .png for it. The app drawer icon's an easy find, though. I'll upload the apk for you.
Have you thought of using the gingerbread launcher instead of adw.?

I know what you mean dude, and i agree but also you do get a lot more in the way of customization with ADW...then again there IS a Gingerbread theme on the market for it :S why bother with this?
Ok here is my dilema, I am trying to take this .apk (it's a clock):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rkyy0n1tba6xleu/Mods/Sshick Animated
and change a few of the .pngs to make it a little more to my liking, I have red animated second hands and a background with the "Miui" erased. I opened it with 7zip and replaced the the .pngs with mine and everything seemed to go just fine. But when I try and install it on my phone it says "Installation failed" whereas the original ^ installed like a regular .apk through Astro just fine. The only way I could get it to install was by pushing it to system/app with RootExplorer, but I would like non-rooted people to be able to enjoy this.
So my question is, did I package it wrong or did I have to edit an .xml or something or what did I do that makes it not install like the original? Because I didn't think just swapping out some .pngs would cause that much of a change. And yes they were all named exactly the same as the original and I have no other versions of the clock installed at the time. Thanks in advance for any help that can be given.
This is what the clock looks like when it's finished (installed via RootExplorer):

I believe you need to sign it again. Search for Auto-Sign app.
You have to sign it. You can do it on your phone with Signapktic from Stericson on the Market. Or there's a bunch of ways to do it on your computer, the easiest being the Auto signer.
Wow thank you guys so much for the help, I knew it was something like that but didn't know how to fix it. Got it working though and it looks good and installs just like it's supposed to. Idk if it's your kind of thing, but I attached the apk so you can use it or test it out or whatever. Thanks again.
So I've been holding out on you guys for a little while. I tweaked the Gingerbread theme that I made for Cognition a while ago and came up with this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
Attached below is a CWM flashable file. And yes the last screenshot does show GSII icons on the TW3 launcher.
I went through and changed the icons and modified the apk's on some of the default system apps like the: Browser, Camera, Clock, Contacts, Gallery, MMS (AOSP not Samsung), Music Player, Phone, TW Launcher, TW Calculator and the TW Calendar. I also pulled some apps from Serendipity 6.2 such as: DialerTabActivity and Swype.
For a flashable zip of the apps check here.
Amazing theme, i really like it. Is it possible to theme the mms apk too?

It would be if I had more time to figure out which files to change. Unfortunately I don't, sorry.
If I were to switch back, how would I go about doing that? Just make a backup or reflash the rom?
This looks great BTW, thanks! Although I'll be tweaking the colors a bit here and there.
Grab the framework-res.apk and tw framework-res.apk from the rom your using and paste them into your /system/framework/ folder with root explorer.

Oh it just replaces the frameowork apks? That makes it so much easier!
