Different ID requests.... - Nook Color General

Ok so Spectral Souls only runs on HC and Eclair versions of the OS. I believe this is because Froyo handles it's ID requests differently causing the security red flag in the Spectral Souls program, which causes it to force close. I was wondering if anyone knew if my assumption was true?
Or if anyone knew how to fix the issue that is causing Spectral Souls to crash on Froyo and nothing else.
Thanks,
Adan

[Q] probably my last attempt... please help.

hi everyone,
with the G2 coming out next month, I think this is gonna be my last attempt at getting my G1 working acceptably.
for those of you that would like to skip my sob story/history, you can skip to the next paragraph. i've had a G1 since july 2009. even though i do love it and android, the thing has constantly run horribly for me. constant lag, a history of force closes (although lately none of that luckily), lots of freezing, restarts etc. i've gone thru tons of different roms, currently on e-Xtreme 2.1 version 1.3. had lots of experienced people from these boards help me with flashing, setting up, reflashing, flashing again, setting up again, formatting my sd card, trying different setups, unrooting and rerooting. we've tried all different kinds of things to get me running well. i'm also at this point using NO widgets except the google search bar and the power widget included in 2.1. when i go to running services all i have is android keyboard, quick search box, gtalkservice, twidroyd, cm updater (impossible to shut off it seems), and setcpu. still i get constant lag from everything from opening messages, to opening websites, to getting back to the home screen, to pretty much everything. forget about loading the camera, it can take like 15 seconds sometimes! i frequently use cachemate to clear my cache. honestly right now the phone is working pretty much the best it's ever worked, but its still awful. also sometimes when i get back to my homescreen my icons don't show up. it's actually bad enough that sometimes i will just not bother doing something i wanted to do cause i dont feel like dealing with it lagging and/or freezing up. and forget about widgets. haha.
ok so, you may or may not have skipped all of that, but at this point, i want my phone to run better in a last ditch effort to maybe be able to stick with the g1 until my full contract is up in july 2011. if not i'm doing the early upgrade and reupping my 2 year contract and getting the g2 next month... what i'm wondering is maybe theres an app i have installed that's eating up memory in some way and is a known issue. i've searched around but haven't found anything about these, and rather than sit here and delete each one, one by one, waiting to see if the phone runs better, i figured i'd just type out a list and see if anyone knows of any known issues with any of these... so here it goes:
astro
barcode scanner
cachemate
calwidget
color flashlight
craigsnotifica
dolphin browser
droidball
drop
facebook
frontiers demo
googles
google sky map
gscript lite
last.fm
latitude
lyric droid
magic gem II demo
movies
myspace
nesoid
news and weather
newsrob
orbs knockoff
painting findings
pandora
pingdroid
replica island
rom manager
setcpu
springpad
soduku free
tangram master full
throw a panda
that's it. i really don't think that's so excessive. i mean theres only like 5 or 6 games in there and some of those things like setcpu, facebook and cachemate are pratically required for proper phone usage. and i wouldn't even bother having a phone without twidroyd and newsrob.
so has anyone heard of any known issues with lag caused by having one of these installed and/or one of these doing something in the background that slows stuff down?
thanks so much to anyone that helps. i'm willing to give this one more try. maybe even wiping and reflashing one more time, but after the dozen times i have already, i think i might just be expecting too much haha.
thanks
Dave

Apps screen resolution

Hey everyone,
I have looked in the forums and cant find an answer to this. I rooted my daughter's christmas present nook color this weekend and it works great - thanks to everyone that made that possible.
One problem I have though is that lots of apps I install from the market dont display properly - some (like Angry Birds and Gem Miner) work great and take up the full screen. Others (like Robo Defence) show in a box with black areas either side (e.g. like watching 4:3 TV shows on a widescreen tv, however even though not all the screen is used, part of the applications are not displayed - so menus are missing and playing areas aren't visible so the games cant be used.
Since this happens in the same way to many applications it seems like it isn't the apps fault. Has anyone else seen this issue? is there a setting I can tweak? I am running 1.0.0.
Thanks a lot for any help you can give me.
Cheers,
Looks like I didn't try hard enough - found a potential fix here - will try it tonight:

Trying to get Mega Jump to work. if you find this to be a potential fix let me know how you achieved it? thanks!
I've found that some apps just won't do full screen, even with the Spare Parts fix...

[Q] Missing market apps

Using a rooted NC with the 2.2 Market I'm not able to find certain apps such as NFS Shift, Jet Car Stunts and many others. I also have a Droid and I can get these apps by purchasing them on the Droid, locating the APK and then transferring them to the NC but I would really like to figure out how to get these apps to show up in the Market on the NC. I've edited the build.prop file about 20 different ways but I'm not having much luck. Has anyone else been able to figure this out?
I'm having the same issue and no luck finding an answer by searching. Apps like Forum Runner are not showing up. Anyone have a solution?

Bump
Sent from my Nook Color!!
Apps are available or filtered based on device type and locale. So, it is highly likely that the software you are looking for not showing because of that.
I went the build.prop editing route as well, to no avail. Have you tried nookie froyo marketplace yet? i didn't compare that, but i know our devices are listed as the same device there, and I'd be very curious to see if the same apps are filtered on nookie froyo...

Yeah the same apps are filtered there as well.
The market on the NOOKcolor, even if it looks like the new market, will only show applications that conform to the Android API 7 API level (2.1 and below). FroYo apps all conform to the Android API 8, so they won't show up on your nook unless you drop FroYo onto it.
The market automatically filters applications that may be "too much" for your device. Sideloading them is the only way around this limitation.

Is Full Market even attainable (whack-a-mole)?

Hi,
I know that there are already a number of threads, but I was wondering if anyone knows if getting "full market" on the Gtab is really possible?
The reason for the question is that I've been working on this for awhile now, and I've tried every tweak that I've been able to find, and also some of my own, and:
1) I keep finding that I can't see some apps in market, and
2) The apps that I can see vs. not see seem to change, seemingly over time, or depending on tweaks, or sometimes randomly.
For example, earlier today, before began my latest round of tweaking, I had done the main market fix (market clear cache/force down, gsf clear data/force down, start market/get error/reboot), and with that, I could see Miren browser, but couldn't see SQL Editor, Adobe Air, Adobe Flash, or Xscope.
I then did a chance, similar to the Android ID changer posted in another thread, but I did it directly, by getting an AndroidID from a Droid, and then using sqlite3 to change the AndroidID on my Gtab. That didn't let me see more apps.
So, I changed the fingerprint in build.prop and did the market fix, and then I could see SQL Editor, but not Adobe Air/Flash, and Xscope.
Then, I set the time to 11:58PM, did the market fix, shutdown the Gtab, then waited.
When I powered the Gtab back on, after "midnight", I was really surprised that I could then see both Adobe Air and Adobe Flash. Still no Xscope, though.
Then, the latest step, I set the Gtab back to the correct time, and rebooted, and after that, I couldn't see Adobe Air and Adobe Flash, but now I can see Miren and Xscope.
It seems like chasing "full market" is really like "whack-a-mole", and so I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible to get there with the Gtab?
Sorry for going on, but this is really frustrating!!

Jim, I have been having some weird issues downloading with my Moto Droid for the last 2 days. I really think that Google is doing something with market. Oddly I seem to be having less problems with my GTab

Hi,
I'm aware of the network problems (retry popup, etc.), but I've been at this (trying to get a full, consistent market) for awhile. What I related in my earlier post was just what I tried today, but this has been almost since I got the Gtab, just after Thanksgiving.
Mostly, it doesn't bother me, but earlier this week, there was post from reelportal asking to test his new app, which needed Air, which kind of got me going on this again. He had posted the Air APK, but it was still kind of bugging me.
I was really surprised to see Air appear in Market today, but then was shot down when it disappeared later.
Feel like I'm "chasing a ghost" with this (="whack-a-mole" )!!
Jim
BTW. You mentioned Droid. One of my sons has a Droid, and that has been what I was using as my 'baseline', to check if I should or shouldn't see an app. He could see every one, all the time.
That keeps leading me to believe that it is possible, which is what drives me batty about this!
Jim
See? This is the weirdness of all of this. Just posted in response on another thread:
No guarantees, but I've been messing with market, and I just got tank hero. I used Titanium backup and cleared data for market then for googleservicesframework, then started market, and bam. It was there!
Yes, it's back ... but xscope and miren are gone...
Hi,
OK, this is at least a little consistent, and so far, repeatable.
If I use TB to clear market then gsf data, then start market, I get the agreement page, then I can see Air, Flash, and Tank hero, but no xscope, miren, or startup auditor.
If I then do the regular market fix and reboot, I get miren, xscope, and startup auditor, but no Flash, Air, or Tank Hero.
I don't see the logic, but seems to be consistent.
Jim
I was trying to help someone earlier with "earthNC". Wasn't in market so I did the Titanium Market fix and it appeared.

So are you seeing the same thing as I am? Doing data clear w TB, get Flash, Air, and Tank Hero, but not miren, xscope, or startup auditor, then do regular market fix get the reverse?
Does that make any sense?

Question Running Tekken Tag Tournament on AetherSX2

Just got the Razer Kishi (not bad tbh)
Been running the ps2 emulator Aether2 and for the most part it's pretty good but certain levels on Tekken Tag run at like 30-40fps.
I've tried almost all the settings I can but it's just not running at 60 or close to it.
Has anyone else been running Aether and has a config file they could share?
Dolphin I've nailed, it's running perfect besides crash bandicoot for some reason?
Running beta 2
Turned off optimisation
Changed to performance (this helps but gets a bit toasty so would prefer to avoid it)
It may work better on 12 (probably will) if anyone wants to test and let me know. Give it a whirl.
Note: you're meant to own the original (have to say that)

If sometimes the game stays on a black screen when starting, it is due to the bios region, in this article I leave you the bios compatible with AetherSX2

Thanks man appreciate it
You should transfer it (your guide) to here specific to a device, I'm sure it'd go down well, I've started working on skyline edge and vita3k, both excellent and both have unique setups per game, drivers for adreno could even need to be changed, it's a lot of work, managed to get Mario 3D + Bowser's fury running at a solid 60.
I've checked the compatibility list, it's sort of up to date.
