nope

As stated above. Nope. They need HTC drivers to work and with Sense not being open source we will never get the drivers to make it work.

i haven't looked through here to see but i was just wondering has anyone found a way to just get the widgets from hero on another rom like jf or dude's if im late or someone knows how let me know! thanks
Make a long story short: No, widgets are dependent on HTC's Touchflo interface aka Sense aka Rosie. Since we can't port Rosie we can't port the widgets.

do you think it's something impossible or something that just hasn't been discovered or figured out yet?? (porting rosie to jf, cyanogen, etc)
Hi all,
I've got a Rogers HTC Magic and I'm running Amon_RA's firmware, version 1.1.0.
Runs great, much smoother than the default Rogers firmware. Just missing one thing though...
Does anyone know where I can find the HTC dialer? Or maybe it's called the Phone application? I like the HTC phone application, but I want to stick with the ROM I have right now.
Thanks!
I second this, apart from Im running CyanogenMod ROM
thirded and i too am runnin cyan
you mean the htc dialer in hero? u cant get that outside of hero, its deeply built into the core framework of the phone. people are trying to port it but its too tough since htc hero's core is closed sourced.
you can try apps like aContacts, which is skinnable and does simliar work liek the smart dialing from the htc dialer.
I had the htc dialer in the original HTC Magic rom. Norwegian phone, HTC branded. I miss the dialer too... Have tried acontact, and its crap in compare...
i would also love to see the original htc magic dialer ported to cyanogenmod
i would also love to see the original htc magic dialer ported to cyanogenmod pls cyanogen help us
having try acontracts? search from market and it is free
it needs htc framework to work so unless you start coding it aint gonna happen. i do agree its a pity though- this was the only thing i liked on my stock rom.
is this the same as the smart dialer?

No, the HTC Dialer is found on non-Google Branded phones. I have an non-rooted Rogers HTC Magic and it definitely has smart dialer, it's not only on the HTC Hero.

it is also on Rogers, TIM etc. its not only on Hero.
It does depend on the HTC framework to run tho, like teeter etc.
I am on Cyanogen and miss the dialer too. Sill no good alternatives to the HTC dialer?
try SuperDial

Thanks man, SuperDial works great
try Smart Dialer T9 - looks great, works perfect.
Any grumblings about an improved method with Froyo? I understand HTC has a solid one, anyway to transfer that or is it stuck in sense framework like the widgets?
Well to be honest its not impossible because i remember when someone got HTC music to work on the G1 and i think it was with the sense framework... Browser should be easer... i guess..
nope

LOL the browser would be next to impossible, good guess though.
That HTC Sense Live Wallpaper is amazing, any ports of it to Galaxy S? It won't run when I try.
Thanks!
I don't think there is. if I'm wrong someone should def hook it up with a link. lol
I know they are actively trying to port Sense (as in the whole thing) to the Captivate but have hit some roadblocks.
If it's just a live wallpaper.. maybe someone in the HTC forums will be kind enough to give you the .apk for it?
But... like everything Sense related it is probably not a standard application and completely proprietary.
Yeah, it needs the framework. But I tried porting that, still doesn't run. Somehow they managed to port it to the Nexus One CyanogenMod ROM, but that APK doesn't work for the Galaxy S.
Ok, I've looked all over the place and can't seem to find what I want so sorry i this is a double post.
I am looking for the HTC Sense live wallpaper. You know the one I mean, the HTC Desire Bubbly one. I have found a version on this thread but it doesn't work on the hero http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=647837
Something to do with the resolution?
Anyway, is it possible to port this to the Hero?
Thanks
Dale
I really want this too but I believe it's only for HDPI devices and the Hero is probably too weak to run it.
I guess by the lack of comments this has either been done before or is not possible?
It's been done !

Thank You! It's a bit of a shame it's not compatible with 2.1 though since VR13, but if Froyo Sense ever works properly I'll be sure to try this.
Have you managed to get this to work on your Hero? I tried it on the RCMIX ROM and it didn't appear under live wallpapers. I flashed it with no errors, it just didn't appear after the reboot.
What Roms have you tried it with? Maybe I should try it with Cyanogen...
I dont think it ever will unless we magically aquire an Adreno GPU for our hero's as that wallpaper is dependant on the Adreno drivers..
EDIT:After looking i think we have Adreno 130gpu and legend has 200 gpu..The legend port would be easier as its same res...
Ive tried alot of different things and i can get it to show in the list but as soon as i preview i get a Fiorce close
