Some of the music files on SD card are not detected by the music player.
I am using CM7 nightly.
I have 2 files under music folder on SD card. Only one of them is detected by the player. If I play the undetected file using Astro, it plays fine.
How do I solve this problem?

the contents of external SD do not show in file manager,it shows songs folder but says there are no files,when I open a music player all the songs on the SD are there,why do they not show in the file manager?

If you are using Android 4.0+, then you'll find your external multimedia card under mnt/emmc.

can someone help me when i updated my i9305 to 4.1.2 to 4.3 my music player cant read mp3 or my musics on sd card or external card even if i fully wipe the internal and factory reset and transfer song to my i9305 from my computer via usb cable the phone cant read the files but if i go to file explorer i can see the mp3 file that ive put and can play it there but not in music player its not listing the mp3 in the music player tab not like 4.1,, please help me thanks in advance

What ROM are you using now? Please check your SD card if it's working on other devices.

There are 2 possibilities.
1: The SD card is not detected because of a hardware fault.
2: You need to manually rerun the media scanner. You can find some apps in the play store that do this. Just search rescan media.
What folder on SD should music be loaded into?
Never mind.
I made a folder "Music" on the SD card, put the files there, and it works fine.
