[Q] NC Battery Charge Reporting Issue - Nook Color General

So, I read the multitude of threads discussing various battery/chargin issues but never saw a resolution/answer for this one.
My NC won't report the battery levels correctly during charge. It seems to be charging because when I reboot, it reports the levels correctly. It also reports correct levels during discharge.
So two questions:
Is there a solution to getting the battery indicator to read properly during charge and
Will the overcharge governor still work and prevent an overcharge if the battery levels aren't reporting properly to me?
I am using the OEM AC adapter connected to a wall outlet.
I am using rooted stock (monster root pack method) and overclocked using Dalgren's Eclair kernel.
Thanks!

[Q] vbus_present while charging at 1400mhz?

I'm slightly confused,
is it normal for my phone to run at 1400 mhz while charging? it becomes a bit hot. it does charge to 100% no problem. but this is a first for me, as before it used to charge at 200mhz. and go to deep sleep, but would never go to deep sleep when wifi is on.
now it charges at 1400 mhz, goes to deep sleep even if wifi is on.
im sure this is not a normal thing. the phone did not SOD.
cheers in advance to those that can help.
anyone?
i dnt think that is normal. can you post specifics of your firmware and any apps you might be running in the background?
are u using the wall charger or via pc usb?
Zapped through server hops to XDA forums
I'm on ParanoidAndroid v0.2 all was good until I flashed kernel-cm-9-20120604WA.zip
and then let the note charge over night using the original wall charger.
wifi was turned off. possible apps open in background are facebook, BBS, cpuspy, Gmail and whatsapp as for most other apps i have turned auto sync off.
ive reflashed the older kernel i had (even though it is newer than the kernel i flashed) kernel-cm-9-Nightly20120607WA.zip, and i have just put the note on usb charging and as normal it is 200mhz while charging., am slightly confused.
I will turn on wifi to see if it lets the device go to sleep and will update.
so after 10 minutes of turning on wifi and just locking the screen the phone is going to deep sleep which is a good sign. the problem is solved. but I really want to know why the problem happened, is it due to the kernel alone? i doubt it.
I also found this problem once. It was 1400 mHz while charging and went to deep sleep when unplug. and 1400 mHz again on charging.
Just reboot the phone and everything come back to normal.
Don't know what happened?
VBUS present wakelock caused by using Apple compatible charger
It does not look like this was ever resolved, so figured I would chime in since I have been looking at this for a while.
If you use a charger which is compatible with Apple products, it will cause the vbus_present wakelock since Apple does not adhere to USB standards and requires two of the pins to be bridged or open (can't remember which) to work for their products. However, when you charge a device that does adhere to USB standards with one of these chargers, it will cause the wakelock (on all the samsung phones I have seen, anyway).
Another downside to using an apple compatible charger is that you can never get more than 500ma out of it due to the non-standard USB connection, even if the charger is capable of 2000ma output. So you get slower charging.
When you are connected to any charger, this wakelock will be present. If you use an Apple compatible charger, it will persist after you unplug it and will drain your battery around 10% per hour since it prevents it from going into deep sleep. You can clear the wakelock by rebooting the phone or plugging it into a standard USB charger, such as a PC or Samsung charger, even for a few seconds.
You can use Better Battery Stats to see the effects of this wakelock. Note that it can take a few minutes to show up once you have unplugged from the apple charger.
Yes, this really p*sses me off. This is one of the reasons I no longer have any Apple products in my house and long since thrown away all the Apple compatible wall chargers I once had. It still comes back to bite me since I still have a couple of chargers that contain batteries to charge when you are away from a wall outlet and they both cause this. When I use them I just have to make sure I reboot afterward. The USB outlet I have installed behind the stereo in my car also causes this wakelock. I have one to replace it but have not gotten around to removing the stereo to do this yet.
The next best solution to never using an apple compatible charger at this point would be to have a kernel that addresses this and removes the wakelock after it is unplugged but I don't see this happening.

[Q] Plugging in charger has no/almost no effect on current flowing through battery

I'm having a problem charging my _new_ Nexus One. In two words - doesn't charge. Tried two batteries and two wall chargers + USB; same result - it charges VERY slowly when the phone is off - like, 1% per hour, and not-fast-enough-to-stay-alive when the phone is on.
So I've been googling for quite a while today, read several dozen threads and it seems that the issue is rather popular. However, there are a few problems:
a) No solution was advised
b) The ones advised didn't work
I've read that I'd better measure the current that's going through my battery and if it's too small, then I have a problem. I've installed an app - Battery Monitor Widget it's called, I think, and saw what's happening. I didn't know what they meant by "small" current, but my case was easy: the current is NEGATIVE even when "charging". In fact, the app doesn't see the difference between an unplugged current and plugged current. This isn't the problem with the app - reversing mA only helps with the app, but all other applications also show that the batter is draining. Note that the LED is ON, that is, the device does detect that the charger is plugged in, it even heats up like usually (I've had nexus one before).
So I thought that was a software problem with 2.3.6 kernel, so I've sacrificed my warranty (the seller p***ed me off - even if the phone turns out to be defective, I'm not bothering to send it back). I've installed Cyanogenmod 7.1 - kernel 2.3.7, but the problem persists.
So I really have no idea what may be causing this or what the fix might be.
Any ideas?

Anymode wireless battery charger [battery percentage mod/app?]

I am using the Anymode wireless battery charger for the last few days and I love it, especially because it trickle charges the battery once its near full on my Note 2 (N7102 on SVA ROM v2.3), thereby increasing (hopefully) the battery life. I got this charger on my last visit to Korea and it has made charging a lot easier and fun.
I also use the wireless battery indicator available from the play store. However, during charging android does not update the battery charge, apparently because, it (android 4.1.2) does not recognize that the battery is being charged wirelessly. If, however, I reboot my phone, it get the correct charge updated by android. While, not on charging mode, the battery drain seems to be monitored well.
I am looking for an app/mod/tasker-profile which will force android to check the battery status, say every min, while its being charged wirelessly and simultaneously update the info. Is there something existing already which I can use?

The reason I think, that the phone doesn't recognise that the phone/battery is charging, is that the battery itself is being charged by the wireless battery charger as seen here http://img.danawa.com/images/descFiles/3/346/2345685_1_1365195972.jpg, It seems that the battery itself houses the wireless charging component and thus received the charge directly, skipping the phone. Hence why the phone doesn't recognise the battery being charged.
The normal scenario with say the Qi wireless chargers, is that there is a receiver component that connects with the Note 2's wireless charging contact pins, with which the phone uses to identify the charge before directing that charge to the battery, in which case the phone then recognises that its being charged and can monitor it.
As to what apps can provide constant battery charge status, sorry I don't know of any, Hopefully others have.

Yupp..N7102 (Galaxy Note 2 - dual sim (full active)) does not have wireless charging pins inside. hence I went for the Anymode solution. Waiting for details on apps/mods to force a battery charge check.

[Q] Do I have a charging problem??

Since I got my HTC One Black, I have always thought it was fairly fast to discharge and really slow to re-charge.
In a normal day my phone will go from 100% to about 30% over 15 hours, with pretty minimal use, 1 or 2 quick calls, 4 or 5 texts and that is about it - does that sound right for discharge battery speed?
As for recharge, well this morning at 10am it was on 29% so i plugged in the charger, 3 hours later (1pm) without the phone being used at all it is on 64%. At that rate it would take from about 10am until about 5/6pm to charge from 29% to 100%, 6 hours for a 2/3rds battery recharge seems like along time to me.
Do your HTC Ones take this long or do i maybe have a phone problem?
Thanks
Update at 3pm it is now at 79%.
download gsam-battery-monitor, use your htc one for one day and post a screenshot.. also check your wakelocks with wakelock-detector..
Keep in mind the One is picky about its chargers. If you're not using the official HTC charger and cable that came with the phone, there's a decent chance it's reducing the milliamperage reaching the battery. Presumably HTC wants to protect the battery from overcharging or unstable voltage from 3rd party chargers, since the battery is not replaceable. When I first got the One, I noticed it was charging slow with my old Galaxy S3 charger and high capacity iPad charger. Battery Monitor Widget confirmed what I was experiencing; I was getting 300-400 mAh out of my 1000 mAh and 2100 mAh non-HTC chargers. Once I plugged in the stock HTC charger, the amperage reaching the battery drastically increased. There are some 3rd party USB cables that can cause slow charging also.

It is the original charger.
are you on a stock rom or not?
some programs/apps/widgets you installed might do this
if nothing is working for you try factory re-setting your phone and use it without installing any new apps and monitor the battery consumption-charging behaviour

It is stock ROM 4.2.2 and there are very few extra apps etc.
I went through the apps list via settings and disabled loads of things, like facebook, twitter, playbooks, playmags etc. etc. I also have started using power saver with reduce screen brightness and save cpu power selected and the battery life now seems a lot better having only lost about 20% of power today rather than 70%.
Dont know if charging will be any faster though, will plug it in now and see how much charge it gets in 2 hours.
I've noticed the same issue with using other chargers. My question is, is there a car charger that would be able to properly charge it?

Z1 faster charge/amperage

Hello, sorry if this has been answered but I couldnt find the answer from my searches. I have a Sony z1. The issue im having is when im using navigation and the phone is charging, the battery drains faster than it charges. So I bought a Belkin 2.1a charger. Still the battery drained faster than it charged. I even bought a portapow charge only cable, still same issue.
After searching I eventually went into the route of flashing a custom kernel and using fauxclock tool from play store to increase amperage under fast-charge. However this made no difference, I used various tools like battery monitoring widget to see the amperage, and the max amperage the phone hit was 1100. I tried this on without fauxclock and same. My question is what can I do to make my phone charge faster?
