There're CPU settings in CM7 under
CyanogenMod Settings -> Performance -> CPU settings -> Available Governors.
Right now it set to ONDEMAND. I tried to change it to POWERSAVE, but it doesn't change anything.
How do I set it?
Same problem here!
HD2 with CM7 Ingwer 3.26 ..
Does anybody know what's wrong?
you need to tick "set on boot" in CPU settings.
if not it will keep reverting to ONDEMAND

I'm a slightly android noob. but What are Governors i kept hearing about, especially on the AbyssNote kernel thread page.

Changed default governor ondemand with sampling rate of 100000. use setcpu or scripts to lower it (or try conservative governor) if you prefer performance over battery life.
Changed lulzactive governor so that it uses idle notifier + some other tiny tweaks
Added Hotplug Governor
Changed Wifi drives...

Does it refer to the SetCPU's profile option?
And by the way when we set the profile on SetCPU, does it automatically help us to undervolt the Note? Or undervolting is left to the user to set?
For a guide on govenors take a look at this
Govenors
i dont oc or uv bbut these are normally set by the user, many threads have recommended settings
CyanogenMod is known as one of the fastest Android ROMs available. For many of us with older devices though, it’s not exactly speedy unless you make some tweaks to it. so some changes need to be made. Here are a few changes I made to my galaxy mini that made it super fast. Give them a try on your own device if you Cyanogen runs slow.
Note: Some of these changes may cause damage to your device. I am not responsible for your results. Use these tips at your own risk.
Overclock the CPU
Take advantage of the capabilities that comes with rooting your device. Go under Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance > CPU settings and do the following:
Select CPU settings and set Max CPU frequency to 748Mhz or 768Mhz. I personally go with this setting you can choose. This may reduce the life of your hardware, but it’s totally worth it.
Set Available governors to smartass v2 or lilgv2.
Check Set on boot.
Optimize ADWLauncher
The included ADWLauncher will run extremely slow on older devices if left to its default settings. Make some changes under Settings > ADWLauncher:
Select Drawer settings and uncheck Animated Drawer and Fade app labels. This will save resources and enable the launcher to load faster.
ADW drawer settings
Select System Preferences and uncheck Wallpaper Hack.
Also under System Preferences, go to Scrollng cache and set it to Low quality.
ADW wallpaper hack and scrolling cache settings
Miscellaneous tweaks
If your device is still slow after the changes above, you may also want to do the following:
Under Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance, check Lock home in memory.
Also under Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Performance uncheck Enable surface dithering.
Cyanogen performance settings
Uninstall unused apps.
Move apps to the SD card.
Delete widgets from the Home screen.
Restart your device and it should now fly. Feel free to post your own optimization tips.
710mhz is enough, some models will reboot or freeze @ 768mhz...

i think swap partition is not recommended
use ram management like Adrenaline engine
i use governor smartass v2 320 min freq and 787 max freq.. my phone works fine and considerably fast
I had plans on writting a detailed thread about speeding up official CM7.2, but i just can't find time for it
I have used android tuner in the past to monitor my system as well as tweak it. I noticed that there are several settings that are not grayed out and I am i if anybody has tried changing any of these settings. There is an option to set the governor at boot as well as adjusting frequencies. There is another setting called enable thermal control. Had anybody adjusted or enabled any of these settings? Also will checking Force gpu rendering in the developer options improve performance?
Hi,
Two questions;
* How come there's no interactive CPU Governor in CM11? The standard pegasusq causes audio crackling/stuttering when the screen is off. If I switch to ondemand the stuttering is gone but the power consumption is higher. On my HTC Ville running latest CM11 I have the option to change to interactive. Do I need to flash custom kernel for more governors?
* None of the standard CPU Governors in CM11 let's me set minimum/maximum CPU frequency, the buttons are greyed out. I can change frequencys on my Ville in the same options menu.
Im running 11-20140114-NIGHTLY-i9305

Get the Boeffla kernel and you can adjust everything you have mentioned and more -
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2457052 :good:
Hello,
I created a profile that set the cpu governor to interactive when I use some apps (browser, games etc...) and set the cpu governor to conservative when I close those apps.
I would like to change some tunables of the conservative governor, because right now the tunables are set to the standard values.
To be more precise, currently, when tasker set the cpu governor to conservative, the tunables are set like this:
down_threshold:20
up_threshold:80
These are the standard values, while I would like to have:
down_threshold:50
up_threshold:95
Is there any way to do this? Maybe with a plugin? Or running shell command?
I don't know, maybe something like this can work (Kernel Adiutor)
