I reporting back on something I stumbled on yesterdays after updating to the latest CM7 2.3.3 build. After updating I have been removing the sock music app then replacing it with the Honeycomb version. Upon that I was prompted with several permissions request and accepted them all. Syncing then started and I checked that under that under Account and Sync notice Music was syncing. This synced overnight. I put in a empty SDcard in. Then I went in to the Jumper Test that comes along with the Music app started the peer under the Controls tab, Ran a test under the Logs tab ( showed 785 files and the files names below) went back to the music app then went to music settings and checked Stream Music and my music started to show up! Played a few songs no problems at all. Let me know if this is working for anyone else.

Aight cool. Its the music app that looks like thide gallery app. Thx though
Edit: ITS HONEYCOMB Music Player. Correct procedure -
Hmmm follow these steps, it might work or might not. Saw many people showing it in a Gingerbread rom, i figure it does not work on FroYo. Anyway here are the steps
1. Download the music apk.
2. Open the apk from your computer with winrar
3. Open the lib folder and the 'armeabi-v7a' folder and extract 'libjumper.so' to your desktop
4. connect your phone to your computer and copy the 'libjumper.so' and the music.apk file to the root of your sd card.
5. Using root explorer, go to your sd card and copy the 'libjumper.so' file and paste it in your phone system>lib
6. rename your honeycomb music apk into 'Music.apk' and make sure its still left in the root of your sdcard
7. close root explorer and go to terminal emulator
8. type
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cp /sdcard/Music.apk /system/app
9. Then go to root explorer again and into system>app and long press on music.apk.
10. select permissions and make sure the check boxes have a inverted L shaped pattern
11. close your root explorer and reboot your phone
10. You should see a bown coloured music icon on your phone's app list enjoy

Well, I have the honeycomb player installed and playing music. I am not sure if it is syncing or if I need to initiate it somehow.
This UI is much nicer than the previous iterations, but it is a bit unstable.
So what music does this sync with? iTunes?

The version attached below will play in HQ by default.
Install through adb:
Code:
adb remount
adb push YouTube.apk /system/app
adb reboot
Install through Astro, or similar:
Code:
Place the file on your sdcard
Open Astro
Find YouTube.apk on your sdcard -> Click & Hold it -> Edit -> Move
Go to /system/app directory
Menu -> Edit -> Paste
Reboot your device
Enjoy!

not sure what I did wrong but I couldn't get this to work. I didn't do ab method cause I rarely have access to a computer. did astro way and it wouldn't allow me to paste on system / app. I used Linda and that allowed me to copy / paste. I rebooted and tried YouTube but got same ole normal quality. I took a a look back at system / app and saw that YouTube apk was indeed there and it was. LOL this seems so simple and really isn't a huge deal but would be really nice for me to get this to work

Go with the ADB method, it'll work. Make sure you push, not install, install will fail with a message to the effect of same version already installed.

installed it last night, it actually makes the YouTube app worth using. where did you get the apk from?

If using astro or any other file manager you have to turn on the root settings. Also setup the SU and then mount the system via the app. I use ES File Explorer. Works great, in sure.

I did it with root explorer but when I rebooted the App was missing all together. Not listed in app drawer. I will give adb a shot but my adb drivers are all jacked.
Thanks for the apk.

Hi there..
I update my SGS to Froyo last 2 days.. and yesterday I apply Voodoo 5 on it.
But today I just noticed that any images from my external SD will appear double in gallery.. dunno when it started to happen.. is there any way to fix this?
thanks
Im my case was 5 for each original, and with a lot of problems to delete the "non-real" ones...
thats hurt.. anyone can help here?
Yup! Just go to Application Manager, then easily clear cache for Media Storage! Ta-Da! No more duplicate images!
(It made my ringtones reset, but I could live with it!)

Great hint, just wondering though if there is any way to have an app or script run at boot-up to do this for you, so people don't have to do it manually every time their gallery has a fit?

It seems like if you can "restore" your data from another android device to google voice installed on Honeycomb, it can work. You just need to get past that set up screen. See, for example:

Moved copies of my 2 /shared_prefs/ files (com.google.android.apps.googlevoice_preferences.xml and VeryPersistent.xml) from my Nexus One to my Nook Color.
Started the app, and it works perfectly!

I tried installing GV the other day but I got to the end of the setup wizard where it asks for a phone number and couldn't think of what to put there. I believe even on the XOOM there is a "fake" phone number to apply to the settings that gets associated with the data plan.
Thoughts?

Where would I be looking for this? Went poking around in Astro, but not sure where to look. Also, I just tried to pick a random phone number associated with my GV account (work phone) and it proceeded but still wanted to check my voicemail settings. Gets an error (popup) that offers to skip the check - but when I skip it the main area of the screen goes blank and the prev/next buttons go greyed out.

I suspect you're using ASTRO or a similar file manager; these cannot see the /data folder.
Go to the Market, purchase, & download "Root Explorer (File Manager)". Root Explorer can see /data and you'll be able to copy the required files.
Working assumptions: NC has a microSD card and does not have either Google Voice nor Root Explorer yet installed.
If you've already installed AND booted Google Voice on your NC and it didn't work, uninstall, re-install, and don't open it until step 12 below.
Process:
1) Install Root Explorer on a device with a working Google Voice install (Droid in my case)
2) Open Root Explorer and navigate to the referenced folder: /data/data/com.google.android.apps.googlevoice/shared_prefs/
3) Copy one of the two files using Root Explorer then navigate out to your sdcard and paste it to any folder (I created new folder on the sdcard "Google Voice Prefs" - could have just as easily pasted into my Dropbox folder, which would eliminate steps 5, 6, and the first part of 9 below)
4) Repeat step 2 for the other file
5) Plug your device (me: Droid) into your machine (me: Win 7) & access your SD card
6) Copy the two files from shared_prefs to your desktop
7) Download and install Google Voice on your NC from the Market
8) Download and install Root Explorer on your NC if you haven't already
9) Plug in your nook, access your SD card, and copy the two shared_prefs files from your Desktop to anywhere on the sdcard (again, I created a new folder called "Google Voice Prefs")
10) Using Root Explorer, copy file 1 of 2 and paste it into the
/data/data/com.google.android.apps.googlevoice/shared_prefs/ folder on your NC
Note: I had to create a new folder "shared_prefs" - no sweat in Root Explorer
11) Repeat step 10 for file 2 of 2
12) Exit Root Explorer, boot Google Voice, and enjoy!

Unfortunately I've had no luck with this so far. I tried a couple of times. I even went in and moved my ENTIRE directory over. It still force-closes when clicking "Next" on the first screen.
My devices:
* Nook running HC v4 eMMC 2nd edition with the Gapps fix and updated build.prop ... Voice not working
* Captivate running stock 2.2 ... voice working
The Root Explorer instructions don't seem significantly different, I don't own it, and I'm adept at navigating Linux via adb so I don't see much need to try that. I also verified my permissions and ownerships matched the default.
Giving up for tonight, but hopefully can massage this into working as GVoice is pretty important to me. Otherwise I've been amazed at the quality of HC v4 given the lack of AOSP for Honeycomb so far.
Here is a collection of alarms, notifications, and ringtones collected from stock and various roms. This is a CWM flashable zip. If you enjoy this, remember to thank the devs here. I just made a collection from their work. If anyone has other audio from other devices they want added just let me know and I'll recompile.
List:
Captivate Stock
Atrix Stock
Armani Stock
Andromeda
Cognition
Continuum
Dragon
Phoenix
Serendipity
Twingerbread
Talking Notifications
and others I may have forgotten.
Now converted to Edify! These are flashable from the newer CWM.

Yep, that is also possible for those who don't want to let it automatically place the files for them or who want to pick and choose the tones they want.
I updated the original post with my corrected Audio file (removed duplicates) and included a link to download the stock Captivate tones as well.

Try another reboot. If that doesn't work then go into settings --> applications --> manage applications --> all --> media container. Force a stop and clear data. Reboot. That should force another fresh media scan with no cached data.
What duplicates were you seeing? That way I can along double check my source files.

A couple of questions... if we don't want all of them, can we just delete the unwanted ones out of the zip before flashing?
Also, if we should want to just direct load them onto the phone (assume that is possible?), where should they be put?
Related to direct loading, there seems to be beaucoup file manager apps; anybody tried a bunch and find a clear winner?

Nope. That's the most current one. I'll do a little more research and see if I can find out why you're getting duplicates.
Did you run the CWM version or did you extract them to a folder on your sd card?
Also try deleting the data/cache from the media storage and then another reboot.

So here's my problem,I've been using democracy 2.1 and tried to flash other custom roms like idroid, aokp ics, and cm10..now everytime I flash these roms and test it the music app dont work, whenever i touch the play button It will say the playlist is empty,I check the library to find my songs and they're not there, same thing happens to the gallery,no pics nor videos, but I can perfectly see pics and play videos and music through the file manager,at first I thought that the apps are not working properly so I installed a bunch of other gallery and music apks but still the same,I dont know what just happened,so please help..thanks in advance
open dev tool go to media provider and tap on scan sdcard
if don't work check for .nomedia file in /sdcard, music folder, video folder and picture folder
