I have the Customized Nookie Froyo found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922324
I downloaded Amazon's Kindle app and it won't sync with a free book I tried to get. I uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the app figuring it was worth a shot but that didn't work.
All the other apps I've tried appear to be working correctly.
Any suggestions/help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do you have an SD card inserted? I noticed I can't get Kindle to sync or download books if the SD is unmounted or if there isn't one. The App must download books to SD instead of internal memory (kind of annoying considering how tiny books are...going to try tricking it into downloading to internal by creating a symlink)
Yes, the SD is inserted. The OS is running off the SD card and there appears to be plenty of memory. I'll have to double check that when I get home though.
I had a similar problem to this. Sync would not bring up my books. Then in the menu I found "Archived items" and all of my books were there then I was able to (re)download them and that brought hem into the main section in the Kindle app.
This is going to sound silly but how do you get in the menu? I don't see a menu or info button of any sort on the main Kindle screen. I'm sure it's probably really obvious and I will kick myself for not seeing it.
ETA: I just switched the Kindle app from the unit to the SD card and tried to send a (free) book to my NC again. It gave a sync error message and told me to try again later.
2nd Edit: I'm such a dork today. I found the menu. *smacks self V8 style*
I rebooted my NC and tried to sync again. This time it at least recognized the book but still wouldn't download. I'm on the wi-fi at work so I'll try this again when I get home where I have more control over the amount of bandwidth available.
ETA: I don't want to bump the thread but I do want to leave a note about the fix that finally worked in case others have this problem.
Go into settings>applications>manage applications>downloaded
Select Amazon Kindle
Under Data select move to SD card
Reboot
Open the Kindle App and it should sync after that.
Im having a problem syncing the Amazon App store to my nook table. i had my nook rooted and it was synced but i procrastinated and didnt put titanium on it and stop the OTA so i had to fix it. now everything is back to what it was but i cant get Amazon to sync this time. Is there something that i did to mess it up and can i fix it?

Hello,
The Nook Color is my first Android device and so far I love it. I am booting .0.6.7 from an sd and I have a couple of questions I hope can be answered.
1. I got the Kindle app, but I cannot find it's menu (to buy from amazon or change font etc.). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but all I can do so far is read the free books it came with.
2. How do I get ebooks onto the Nooks internal memory? I have an epub file in internal memory (under my files) that I could read with the stock reader, but the nook app and the kindle app does not list it.
Thanks in advance, I am trying to read and learn as much as I can, but it is a little overwhelming!

1. Use soft keys to bring up the row of virtual buttons. To bring up soft keys you need to either do a single or double tap on your nook button. It just depends on your configuration.
2. Select the menu button.
3. Select either Archived Items or Kindle Store.
Hope this helps with at least the first part of your issue.
Thanks a lot!
Where are the archived files from? It wants me to connect to the internet when I press it and I don't have a signal right now.
When I plug the nook (or just the sd card) into my computer how do I add books to it?

Archived files would be books that you've already purchased from Amazon that have not been downloaded to your device. Your nook would need an Internet connection to access those files (if you have any) as they are stored on Amazon's servers.
I'm not sure about the answer to your second question just yet. If I figure it out I'll let you know.
I appreciate the help. I am trying to get used to the menus and the way androis works.
What I did figure out is:
1.Take out the sd card and load files (epub, movies, etc)onto the stock Nook.
2.Put the sd card back in, boot up froyo, then use astro to transfer files back and forth between the internal and sd.
I recommend Aldiko for reading your own EPUBs and PDFs. It has a file browser so you can simply browse to wherever and import them. Also it supports Adobe DRM so you can download Library eBooks straight from their sites.

That sounds a lot easier than my workaround. I will try it tonight!
Speaking of library access, I heard the Philadelphia library sells memberships to anyone for $15 a year.

WTF??? They make you pay??? My library is free and gives me access to online Audiobook/eBook loaning. Some of the other Libraries in it's network make you pay for things like DVD loans but I can understand that. But $15 for a Membership, that sortof defeats the purpose of a Library. I heard Philly was seriously cutting back on their Library budget (even closing a few) but Paid Membership? What's this world coming too?

I should have clarrified. If you are out of state you have to pay the $15 fee.

This is driving me a bit mad.
For a while, my Nook (BN v1.1, nooted) didn't want to start up easily. If you rebooted, you had to go into Clockwork and then reboot again, otherwise it would get stuck on the intro screen.
This weekend, I decided to go back to stock and factory reset to start again. I updated the NC to v1.2 and then ManualNooted. Works great with one exception... I can no longer get ePub books that I load to show up in the Library.
I can get to them in the Library by going to "My Files" and hunting around for them, but I want them to appear "books". They used to do this and I can't figure out to get that functionality back. I've tried putting the files on a few different places in the Internal Memory and an SD card, but Library doesn't seem to find them.
Am I missing something stupid or did something change between the versions?
Thanks!
Hey guys,
Did a search and found people with a similar issue but no solution. I bricked my NC last Friday trying to install a kernel. I got it back with recovery but now my Nook library is empty. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Nook app multiple times but no dice. When I look at my account from my computer, everything is still there.
Anyone know what might have happened?
66 Views and nobody has an answer???
Come on guys, somebody has to know something. It sucks because I can't read the book in any other reader because of DRM or some bull**** like that. When I try to open the epub file in any other reader I just get symbols.
Help!!!1
This is totally just a guess, but you may want to try going to settings/applications/manage applications/ view all and find nook then clear data, clear cache. I read somewhere that this sometimes helps with apps that are acting up. I hope this helps. good luck.

Thanks dude. I have since given up. I started using the Kindle app and that's working for me so far.
Luckily I can finish reading the book I was in the middle of because I have a Pandigital Novel at home.
I basically had the same issue, but it started a little different.
My library showed all of my books, but when I clicked to download them, it said something about could not download, call 1-800-the-book. Obviously I wasn't about to do that.
I searched around quite a bit and never found an answer that worked. I uninstalled Nook app, re-installed, and updated. That made it worse. Now I don't see any books in my library. I signed out, signed in, refreshed, etc. No luck. I moved the app to sd card, that didn't help.
I never did find an answer, so I just switched everything over to Aldiko. They even have steps on how to import books you bought from B&N.
Interestingly, I have the Nook android app installed on my Evo. Both my Nook and my Evo are on CM7. I have no problems at all with seeing my library or downloading books on my Evo.

I tried Aldiko as well. But when I try to open my B&N book it asks for a password. Moon Reader opens the book, but all I get is gibberish I guess due to DRM. Lame.

Here are the steps I followed to get B&N content on Aldiko. Found it on Aldiko help page.
I was able to use the SD Card feature in Aldiko to import DRM'd Nook books on my Android Device.
At the Home screen in Aldiko, tap SD Card.
Navigate to the Nook folder on your device
Navigate to the Content folder within the Nook folder
Tap on the book you want to import (not on the check box, just tap the title)
You will be prompted to open or import, tap "open"
you will then be prompted for a username and password. The user name is the name on the credit card associated with your Nook purchase. The password is the credit card number itself, no spaces.
Once you have been able to open the book, go back to the home page and follow steps 1 through 4.
This time, when you are prompted to open or import, choose "import". The book will be imported to your Aldiko Library.
The reason I open before importing is that there is no password prompt when importing. I did find that once I had entered my credit card info for one book, I was able to import all of the rest of my Nook purchases without opening first, the app seemed to just need this information once.
Enjoy!
Im having the same problem. I completely erased and rebuilt my whole nook - most recent CM7, and the most recent nook app, and still no librar. Tried Aldico and it does not work as there is no content on my card. I downloaded off my pc to the card and it would not read it.
This has happened to me before, I posted in the B&N forums how to fix it.
What worked for me after (a lot of headache) is simply this: on your online B&N account on the PC, move every single book to Archive, then move them back to the library. They should then show up in your NC.
It seems to be a server refresh type of issue.

B&N support had me try moving one book to archive and back and it didn't show up. I guess I can see if moving them all makes a difference.
EDIT: Nope didn't work
UPDATE:
With the Nook app update on the on the market this morning, suddenly my library is back! Not sure what they updated but it seems to have solved my issue, for now.
I'm having this same issue. Nook app one my rooted NC was working fun until one day, poof, library is empty.
I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, re-installing, signing out, moving the app to SD card, etc etc. App is version 2.6.2. Anyone else experiencing this? I tried to engage B&N support but it's pointless.
I have CM7 on rooted nook. Last night my B&N application was acting funny, so I went to the new market, uninstalled the new market updates, then went back to the old market, found the B&N update and installed it. Now my previously purchased books can't download, says there is an error. Anyone experiencing this problem? Does it have to do with the new B&N application not recognizing the device? Also on the Application, I can't get to its settings or help tab, in order to check for the sd card assignment. I tap and tap, and nothing. I can tap on the books but get the errors and can't download come.
The Nook app changed names, that generally means that you have to erase data or even uninstall/reinstall.
I cleared data and all is well.

Depending on how old your app was you have to sign out and then sign in and reload your books all over again.
I apologize if these questions have already been answered but I didn't see them in any Nook HD+ forum/thread.
1) I downloaded some books from B&N prior to rooting the Nook. I then rooted the Nook HD+ and I can still read the books thru the default reader but I can't seem to locate them in any folder. I tried two different file viewers from Google Play and can't seem to find them anywhere. Does anybody have an idea of where they could be stored? I know they are stored locally somewhere since I have WiFi turned off. My reason for asking is I would like to access them from the new launcher (using another reader) rather then going to the B&N home page.
2) My next question involves connecting to my desktop. I use openSUSE and run WinXP in an Openbox VM. Whether in Linux or using WinXP in VM I can't access the folders on Nook. I was able to get the drivers working to use ADB (in the WinXP VM only), but I can't get any folders to show up in a file manager. Well, I actually get one folder to show up, called "NOOK", but it has very limited storage. I tried this with both developer mode on Nook turned on and off. I can transfer files to Nook (and see personal folders) when using Win Media player and Nook set to MTP, but I can't see any folders with a file manager. Any idea on what is going on? BTW, it would be nice if I could see everything from Linux without having to use WinXP.
Thanks for any help. Also, many, many thanks to Someone0 for the simple root instructions. Much better use of the Nook HD with general Android apps available.

Thanks...that helps. Wonder what the purpose of the /sdcard/B&N Downloads directory is. Very confusing.

No clue...the external sd card also gets a B&N Downloads folder.
