[Q] Making old Alltel Milestone work with Verizon - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

So I live in central Wisconsin and have a Milestone that is just sitting on my desk. I would love to get it running so it will work on the Verizon network. I know this is possible. I have it Flashed as a droid, my friend did this for me, but the PRL isn't correct. Any help/advice? I want to be able to sell this thing to have extra cash.
Thanks

uh Droid is CDMA and Milestone is GSM.
I'm in Canada so I really don't know if Verizon has a GSM network.
It definitely has CDMA since Droids run on it.

Alltel used Verizon towers to roam so it should be the same. Plus Verizon bought out most of Alltel.

Verizon eris radio

I'm getting an alltel cdma hero and I live in an area where Verizon has amazing coverage and alltel is poor at best. I was wondering if I would be able to use a radio from an eris on my hero?
Using a Verizon radio doesn't mean you get to use Verizons towers.
I forgot to mention I use a verizon prl too
I don't think you'll use their towers unless you are roaming. However, I use a Verizon radio on my Sprint Hero and have waaaay better service. So, try them out.

Here is how I understand PRL to work:
It is not a list of all of the "home network" towers. If you are using a Verizon PRL, you will be using Verizons "negotiated" towers. These towers are from other providers, not Verizon.
I kind of doubt there is a way to snake into their network without being on their network. Ya know what I am saying?

I know what a prl does and on my htc diamond it defaults to the verizon network except for when im using ev-do data. I know this because my phone shows the 1x symbol im on my home network and when i dial out on *228 i get verizon and if i dial a number i cant reach i get verizon indicating that my alltel phone thinks verizon is its home network, but other than that all my questions have been answered thanks guys.

No, because it's still a CDMA radio.
Where can we get a Verizon radio?

Regarding the Verizon radio, are you talking about the radio for the Eris dump? ALSO: I came across a VERY peculiar thread in the Evo section. It talks about how alltel was bought out by Verizon, and you can use an Alltel PRL to use Verizon's towers for signal, but still stay on Sprint. It's kind of confusing, but awesome (if it will work for us): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696073
I just done it d/l speeds are bout 20-30kbps faster and u/l speeds bout 60-70kbps faster

Will a T-mobile Nexus one work on Bell Mobility (Canada) network

Is it possible to get a T-mobile N1 to support the 3G Bands 850/1900 that the bell network supports? I know it is possible to flash different radios with android phones. I am still a fairly new user to android but i'am trying to learn and u can't learn with out asking questions
Thanks,
Ryan
You won't get 3G. You need the AT&T version for Telus/Bell/Rogers. You could try Wind or Mobilicity.
well that sucks, neither of those are in Nova Scotia where i am located
You could always try to look for someone to trade with, AT&T for Tmobile Nexus.
But it would probably be hard to do in person if there is no demand for it in Nova Scotia.
I don't know how safe it would be to trade by mail.
Any plans that Wind or Mobilicity will come to Nova Scotia? Just curious.
You could get it to work on Rogers GSM network but you won't get 3G, I could be wrong but I don't think Bell or Telus have GSM networks so you're out of luck there.
Oh yeah, there is that little snafu too. Even worse.
It will work on Rogers but you won't get 3G speeds.
It won't work at all on Bell/Telus.

So are you saying his Tmobile won't work on Bell/Telus at all?
But an AT&T will work fine on Telus, with 3G as well?
I am considering buying a nexus one for when I switch to telus next month.
Yes, the T-Mobile version will only work on Rogers/Fido with 2G only.
It will not work on Bell/Telus at all, ever.
It will only work on 3G on Wind Mobile and Mobilicity.
If you want full Rogers/Telus/Bell support, you need the AT&T version.

If you're a Canadian and you want a "Nexus One-like" experience on Bell/Telus/Rogers, and you're having trouble finding one with the right 3G bands...
Get an HTC Desire from Telus. Problem solved. If you don't like Sense UI you can flash it with all sorts of ROMs that will make it feel more like an N1, or you can put MIUI on it, or Cyanogen, etc...
Or according to mobile syrup(can't link) the nexus S will be on the big 3 in march

Simple answer, yes. As far as the difficulty level in doing so, I am unaware. It is technically possible, as the CDMA bands seem to be friendly with each other, as in using them on one carrier is the same as using them on another as long as you can program it. The LTE 700 radio has been unlocked as well to be able to be used on GSM networks. I am currently searching for a simplified solution.

Unlocked at&t moto x on Cincinnati bell

So I have an moto x that is unlocked but branded to AT&T. I am only getting 2g. I talked to the rep at the store that said Cincinnati bell doesn't let unlocked phones get 4g???? This isn't my first unlocked phone I've had on Cincinnati bell and I was getting 4g on them. Only difference is normally I use a T-Mobile phone (unlocked). Is that the reason I'm not able to get 4g? Is it because the phone is at&t and not T-Mobile? I don't understand how I can get 4G on some but not others. Someone please help me out.

Not from Cinci, but I'm using an AT&T Moto X on T-Mo. I think, looking at Cinci Bell, their 4g network is only HSPA+, which the AT&T moto x does not support. They only work on the 4g LTE bands (For example the 3g antenna does not pick up T-mobile's 3g frequencies, so I can never have 3g).

Does a Sprint X work on Verizon?

I've searched around and everywhere says that the VZW X works on Sprint but, does the opposite work? I know VZW's X is set up with a plethora of radios but I haven't seen how Sprint's is set up.
Thanks in advance!

No. No chance Verizon would allow a phone from another carrier to be activated on their network.

I've not seen any mention of the Verizon X working on Sprint. I have seen posts of the Verizon X working on GSM carriers due to the GSM bands it supports (mainly for global roaming as far as Verizon is concerned), and SIM Unlocked out of the box (due to VZW's 700Mhz auction win). And LTE working on carriers like T-Mobile who also use Band 4 for LTE.
Either way, Sprint and Verizon still use CDMA for Voice, SMS, and 2G/3G data but on different frequencies. So I would not expect the Sprint X to be able to work on Verizon.
