[Q] Are radios carrier-specific? - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on nTelos (regional carrier), and my current radio is 2.42.01.04.23.
Is it safe to flash the Sprint 2.42.02.10.29 radio, or will it screw up my signal, etc?

Hmm, nTelos is a cdma network, I believe, so in theory you should be able to. I've flashed a Verizon radio to my Hero, but went back to my stick one because it works better.
With that said, do so at your own risk. One sure way to brick a Hero is with flashing an incorrect radio.

Yep, it's a CDMA carrier. Sprint uses nTelos's towers here in WV. In fact, I've found sprint settings in the nTelos ROM, for instance in the build.prop file.
Are the radios included in the RUU? I have the stock nTelos RUU, so if it's in there, if all else fails, I can just reinstall the RUU, but I'd obviously rather not.

Fairly sure impaler has a radio thread on the dev board.

[Q] Do I understand this right.

Do I understand this right. If I unlock my Droid 3 for T-mobile using this guide for changing the ROM and radios
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406812&page=1
I will have T-mobile service but I will loose my Verizon service and the only way to revert back to Verizon is to use the stock XT862 ROM or will I be able to change between T-mobile and Verizon with the flashed XT 833 Rom and Radios?

You can switch radios without SBF. Just edit the two or three lines in the build.prop needed for GSM and connect your phone to a computer, flash the SBF radio.img or the radio.img included in that thread.

Transform my Sprint model in an international one

I have a HTC One Sprint, SIM unlocked.I was wondering if it's possible somehow to make it identical to the international version. I already use it as a GSM phone. I have read the partitions are different. I am pretty sure partitions can be changed look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=806321 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1959691
CID and MID can be changed easily, so is it possible to do this?? Does the Sprint variant have any other differences??
Can anyone give me more info pls?

Since it's unlocked and gsm, my first thought is to go for broke and flash the WWE or the dev rom and go from there. You might need to include your phone model no., cid etc in the android-info.txt file of the rom to get it done, but it should work. You could also try the dev RUU exe and see if that converts it.
Different radios??? I'm pretty sure if you flash a gsm Rom wether it's AT&T T-Mobile or the international version you'll be saving up for a new phone

So the hardware is different, I know that it has a different antenna, but the rest should be the same. I'm telking more here for being able to flash GSM RONs

HTC one programmed back to Sprint after being programmed to page plus

I flashed my phone to page plus last July and now I'm wanting to go back to Sprint. For some reason I cannot get the Sprint prl to stick after flashing it. I've tried a few Sprint prl's but the phone always shows the prl to be 00000. Does anyone know the details on getting any HTC phone programmed back to Sprint after flashing it to another carrier?

I flashed the 1.29 radio but that never helped so I'll try to run an ruu to see if that could be the issue.
After running the ruu I was able to make the prl stick and program the phone back to Sprint

Previous version of radio....

I've got an HTC One Sprint running on Pageplus. 4.4.2 with the most recent radio (rooted, s-off, unlocked).
I'm wondering if anyone knows....if I go back to the release radio, am I likely to break my Pageplus flash?
This isn't necessarily a Pageplus question, more...what kind of information can I mess up by changing the radio?

[Q] Error while searching for networks

Hello XDA,
Before I came to this subforum I was under the impression I had a regular HTC One, I got the same error message and then figured out I had a Sprint HTC One.
Now I had the issue where I had no service at all, my Sim card seemed to be detected but I ofcourse had the wrong firmware on it likely causing the issue.
So I got new firmware and a cm 12 (also tried stock rom) rom, but comming up to the same error message. The Sim card is detected and I am asked to fill in the pin for it which I was not when I had the wrong rom/firmware. I am not sure what is going wrong and I hope you guys can help me.
I am in The Netherlands and I am using radio Baseband - 1.01.20.0515
Thanks
Edit:
Tried:
RUU's:
I tried flashing this ruu, no success.
I flashed 3.04.651.2 RUU and 5.05.651.2 RUU after that to be sure to have a radio (according to this thread) but with no success. I also tried flashing the radio Baseband - 1.01.20.0515 again after it dit not work.
Radio's:
Baseband - 1.01.20.0515
bump
I wish I could help. My only suggestion is to try to run the Sprint RUU to reset the phone back to stock with the latest firmware to see if that helps. Unless I'm mistaken, the issue is that Europe uses GSM and Sprint is a CDMA carrier. So, you may not even have the right radios in the phone. The only saving grace is that it is a worldphone that uses LTE bands so you might be able to access those. But, you may have to unlock the SIM card first. At this point, I'm pretty much just throwing out ideas I've seen on the site since I've never been in the situation myself.

The hardware is capable of doing it. Before I started flashing it worked fine. I've tried going back to the stock rom but with no success.

sounds like you flashed a gsm rom on a cdma phone, and now the partitions are messed up, only way out of that that I know of is running the RUU for the sprint phone.
I've tried that no success
