Screen protector - A7 Accessories

I have used boxwave's (www boxwave com) screen protectors for years. They are extremely high quality and optically clear (no rainbow effect). They also have a wonderful surface for finger dragging and are relatively easy to apply without bubbles.
I have submitted a request that they make a crystal and anti glare screen protector for the A7. It would help if you all would also submit requests. They are good about covering most all devices once seeing a market for it.
When selecting your device on the web page chose the "other device" option at the bottom and you will see the request option.

Update:
Here is the reply I got from boxwave:
Dear BoxWave Customer,
Thank you for your product request!
We are currently developing our ClearTouch Crystal for new models, so we appreciate your suggestion since we develop our products based on the number of requests we receive for a particular model.
We will let you know when the ClearTouch Crystal does become available for your unit.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

Such a stunning admission that I would venture to call it a development and move it to the Dev section.
I seriously choked on pretzel when I read this. lol

i am currently using a ipad screen protector cut down to size...

I myself choked on a pretzel when I saw the customer service rep's name. Despite unofficial posting etiquette and attempts by my brain to stop my fingers, I couldn't help but respond. It was a reflexive action not unlike when my doctor used to tap below my patella.
My apologies to all offended.

Has anyone tried a shield for the Galaxie tab?
Invisibleshield makes one for the Galazie tab that is "military grade". I was wondering if it would be an exact fit for the eLocity A7 or need to be trimmed.

Google the specs for the galaxy and get the extact screen messurements,
I normally get 1 size up and trim it down...

A7 Screen Protector
Howdy, I reckon one of the plentiful mobile phone stands in most shopping malls would cut one down and fit for a price

Workaround
I ordered one for an iPad and cut it to fit. One thing I didn't do that I would/will do next time is to make a template out of cardboard first. I never use the camera so didn't bother to drill a hole. Thanks all for the feedback.

$1.91 + free shipping!!!
Couldn't beat this one. $1.91 w/free shipping... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0048A0JLS
For the Galaxy Tab. I trimmed it slightly and used a hole punch for the camera.

Recommend a cheapo screen protector on ebay (1-3$)

I am looking for a cheapo 2-3 pack protectors from ebay, that will maintain the gloss of the HD2, be bubble free and easy to apply, and fit the HD2.
If anyone got something reasonable recently, can you please shoot me a link to the product page or seller ?
It's important that it will be a 2-5 pack or something because I always mess up the first few ones trying to apply that thing
This may not be the answer you're looking for, but most of the cheapo screen protectors are useless. They are much harder to lay down bubble free and they don't last very long from my experience with them. I suggest you spend around $10. and get a Vikuiti screen protector for your HD2. It lays down very easily and bubble free if you are careful and do the job in a dust free environment like the bathroom after running the shower for a few minutes.
You will likely end up spending less money in the long run and having less frustration. You will also enjoy a better look and feel on your lovely 4.3 inch screen.

I am sorry, should have researched b/f posting: but some liked it and one guy said it was, "Frickin' Fantastic". it is the only one i have found that looks almost identical to the "Vikuiti", except for the 2 small knotches in the upper left hand corner. and it is easily available in the States. Would love 2 know what u think, good thing is htc will make right if it is bad - with no problem. wonder if it is a 3m. Product

Well, the protector is here and I just applied it to my US HD2
It fits PERFECTLY, has 2 small holes for the sensors, and goes around the hark keys.
There was almost ZERO difference in color and visibility between the naked HD2 and the HTC Original protector, so very good job on that.
Hand movement is great and smooth..
No complaints at all.
Got a couple for 6 dollars.

[UPDATE2] Case-Mate rejects Focus Tough Case

********UPDATE 2**********
Please go here for Otterbox!!!!

********UPDATE**********
This Tough Case option is officially closed. Case-mate opted not to produce this. Read more here LINK
************************
Please submit your design wish list here (cost, color, etc.)
For me, I want it executed like the Galaxy S above. Black color is great and looks professional and handsome. ABS plastic has to cover the corners for protection. Power button cover to help prevent accidental shutoff. No covers on frequently accessed ports (headphone, microusb)
Here's is the response from Case-mate:
Thank you for contacting case-mate and your interest in our products. At this time, we do not have any specific information on when, or if, the item you are requesting might become available. I've submitted messages to otterbox and case-mate so lets hope they can come up with something. Only thing im looking at right now is one of those amzer TPU cases but im not really thrilled about it :-/
I hope they are listening.
You can post on their facebook as well. They are very active on facebook:

They already make the red Pop! Case that you see on the AT&T site. It can't be that much more effort to make the Tough Case as well.

Done. To be honest i would MUCH rather i have an Otterbox defender, but ill take what i can at this point.
The Otterbox defender is nice. It is noticeably bulkier but does provide maximum protection. I'm not really a fan of clear plastic membrane over the screen, but that's just me. There is no doubt that the Defender is a great case. But I really like the Case-mate Tough Case, slightly more than the Otterbox. I see the Tough Case as equivalent to the Otterbox Commuter series. The big difference is that the Commuter doesn't have the ABS plastic on the corners like the Tough Case. I personally think this is a design flaw. Like a said in post 1, 90% of the time you drop the phone, it is going to land on a corner first with the most impact. That initial impact is what is going to break your screen. The Tough Case , having ABS plastic over silicone on the corners, is a better design imho. But I would take either one at this point, to be honest.
I can't see me walking into a meeting with a Red Pop! Case. For the life of me, I can't see why they would only produce only the red one (as of today)? A gray and black one would have worked fine and suited the taste of many more buyers imo.
Thanks for voting btw!

I love my iPhone 4 defender case, its huge but i dont have to worry about the phone dropping and cracking in half. As far as the membrane, its not bad.. im indifferent.
After only a short time, the request for a Case-mate tough case climbed rapidly up their Product Feedback list. It had 90 votes, 16 comments, and ranked 5th. The good news is that they heard your voice... the bad news is that they declined it.

Sorry folks, don't know what to tell you. I can't see bringing a Red Pop! case into my next meeting, and it doesn't provide nearly the protection as the Tough Case. This is really disappointing.
Anybody for an Otterbox?
The Pop model is fine if they offer it in another color (like black). A friend of mine has one and it's a really nice case IMO.

{UPDATE: *INSTALLED* Pix added} *Real* Carbon Fibre Composite Cases

Just as the subject line states: Who is interested in a *Real* Carbon Fibre Composite Case for their Samsung Galaxy Tab?
There is a company in Florida that made my HTC Supersonic (Evo 4G) Carbon Fibre Composite Case. Very very good quality stuff, not only the quality of the fabric is top notch but the fitment is perfect.
About a week ago i contacted them and asked if they would be manufacturing a case for our Galaxy Tabs and they are waiting to see how many requests they get before putting the time in on developement and testing.
How much you ask? Not exactly sure, but they manufacture a case for the iPad which is $124.95 and a majority of their smartphone cases are $99.95, so i would say pricing would be on or around $124.95 for this case.
If you guys are interested, please contact them via Facebook @ www.facebook.com/infinitycarbon or on their website @ http://www.InfinityCarbon.com.
Thanks in advance!
Today, 12/27/10, i was contacted by Infinity Carbon:
"Good news! We are currently working on cases for the Galaxy Tab and they should be available in our store in just a couple of weeks!"
*EDIT*

If not, everyone have an Awesome, yet safe Happy New Years!!!
i would definitely interested as long as the sides are protected as well =)
I voted yes but then got to thinking about it. Carbon Fiber is very strong but not made to hold up against scuffing and scraping. now if they put a very durable coating over the carbon then I would be interested in it.
What I'd love to see is this type of cover but one that replaces the back cover totally..and wraps around the sides protecting them too. that would make it almost nude size-wise and back pocketable. And, yes, I know that would void my warranty..but looking at my ATT Tab and its faux back carbon lookalike cover made me wish for the real thing..and gave me that idea.

Sounds like an appliqué like the PhantomSkinz Chromatics would suit your needs. Do a little XDA searching for feedback, and I posted a link in the Accessories sub-forum regarding the Tab. It's just a sticker, but it's a good sticker.
OK Guys, i just got conformation from Infinity Carbon that they are going to go ahead and start the manufacturing process for our Galaxy Tabs!!!
From Infinity Carbon:
"Good news! We are currently working on cases for the Galaxy Tab and they should be available in our store in just a couple of weeks!"
I have had poor experience with real CF cases on wireless devices. They look great, they are extremely light and sleek, but they interfere with signal in a major way. In fact one that i purchased for an iPhone i had was a CF/Kevlar composite fabric made specifically to reduce interference, and yet it still caused very noticable interference.
If the weave was thin and loose, then perhaps it would work better in regards to signal, but then it would not be as strong or visually appealing IMO.
good job pls try to do a type of way to have teh cf wrap the sides or at least protect the sides similar to gel cases, i know that you can make flexible type of cf ( i used to work with a cf company for scion parts ) just hope it will look great and protect well =)

They use what most Carbon Fibre Composite Parts are manufactured with, 2x2 3k. I'm not sure if you mean 1x1, aka Plain Weave, which cuts the looks down to tinys sqaures instead of what you see here.

I doubt we will be offering the 1x1 plain weave as that is not very sought after these days but we can always make it as a custom order so if they want to email me we can discuss the options. [email protected]

Flygrip + Nexus 7?

IMHO pricey, but innovative.
I am not sure if it still applies, but thanks to QBKING77, you can use his handle as a coupon code to get free shipping.

I saw this in the SGS3 threads and wondered it it would work on the N7. The have it in 3 different sizes, but that's for finger fitment and the slide/video shows it installed on some ereader.
Would it stick to the N7's backing?
EDIT: It should according to their video, thanks goes to Rock-&-Roll-Hedgehog for linking us this video;
It would be useful if they stated on their website how much weight it can handle. Apologies if that info was in the 2nd video but that fellow was annoying me with his hand waving so much I had to stop watching. This product looks really interesting though.
I think it would work but I never got one for my handsets due to the bulk
I just found this video review which shows it being used on a Kindle and also on a TPU case on an Amazon Fire Tablet, which I think is about the same size & weight as a Nexus 7.
Tablet shown from 2.00 onwards
Edit: Yay I got it to embed. Yeah I know, but I'm pleased with myself so there.

Looks interesting. Like a clothespin for your fingers. :good:
It looks interesting but I doubt a bit that it will stay on the back of a Nexus 7 because of it's material and kind of surface. It might also make it hard to fit in a pocket with this extra thing attached to it.

Perhaps attached to these new hard snap on covers it would hold; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29640491
I wrote to Flygrip about using it on the Nexus 7. Here are selected highlights from the response.
In that video we showed the kindle fire which is almost the exact size (and actually heavier than the nexus 7). It will work exactly the same. Once we get out hands on a nexus 7, I will do a video.
<snip>
The nexus 7 will work just as well using the flygrip as the fire does.
<snip>
From my experience (I have it on the [Kindle] fire):
1. Great for reading and flicking through pages
2. You will not be able to totally one-hand navigate the entire screen. Too big to reach top left and bottom left with your thumb, but will let you click on at least 1/3 of the screen with your thumb with same hand.
3. When laying in bed, you will be able to view it even though gravity is going against you. You can do this for a while until your hand/wrist will get tired because the weight of the tablet starts to fatigue your arm.
4. My dad uses it on his regular kindle for reading books and loves it (as well as many other flygrip owners).. Just takes pressure off your finger muscles to grab the kindle.
<snip>
Regarding the sizes. check out video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7k-30qPeZFY
For tablets I recommend getting a large because sometimes you may want to stick your fingers in even more than normal (smartphone we recommend fingertips)
Overall on tablets, it does help out a lot.
<snip>
When we were at CTIA Wireless and Macworld Expo, we had a kindle and ipad and using it all day with one hand to hold it (when people were purchasing flygrips, we used the square card readers on the ipad, so the flygrip rep would hold it out for them to sign). Definitely helps for that purpose as well.

That's not bad, but they are comparing it in size and weight to the KFire. Problem with that is that the KFire has a straight plastic back, adhesive should work fine with that, but the N7 is textured (holely) rubberish backing. I would assume most adhesives would eventually un-stick and peel off.
I would recommend if getting one of these, to put it on a hard plastic casing. But really that's just my guess. I'd be afraid of it coming off and flipping the N7 in the air on to the floor. The glass is not Gorilla, it's just Corning scratch resistant and even if that doesn't get damaged, the LCD will definitively crack.. (been there)

My Review of the Schnail Titan Case for the Note 20 Ultra

Bought off Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CBNZGGR
Schnail Titan for Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Case (2020 Screenless Version), Military Grade Drop Tested Heavy Duty Full Body Protective Case with Kickstand - Black
Review posted to Amazon:
I don't mean to brag, but I'm a pretty tough guy. Work in the construction industry, do deadlifts for fun, intimidate most humans, and have the size and skill to back it up. Therefore, I need a tough phone case for my delicate phone. I don't have time for cracked screens or damaged phones so I decided to try out this Schnail Titan case, well because of how durable it looked but also the name TITAN! That fits my giant ego. I've dropped my phone twice by accident while messing with equipment with the other hand and both times the phone survived the fall. I'm 6'3" so the fall was from over 5-ft onto hard concrete/stone flooring. If it can survive the rigors of my life, then it can survive the non-rigors of yours.
The only slight negatives are as follows. I wish the top of the case sloped more so that when I go to lower the drop down menu with my finger it doesn't open the apps menu. If you don't know this, the new Android OS lets you swipe down on the screen to open the apps drawer. Also, I could use a little more rubber on the back side to give it more of a grip when placed face up on my diesel truck center console. Yes, I drive a diesel, but I don't hate the Earth. I use DEF. Instead of a plastic frame around the phone before inserting it into the rubberized case, I wish it was just a plastic top and bottom that inserted into rubber to add more protection. Not that it needs it, but would be easier for installation.
Bottom line. If you have clumsy hands, or really want to protect your new $1500 phone, then GET THIS CASE!

I've called out the other "reviews' shilling for this product - but this is by far the worst. You are not only aiding and abetting an unethical marketing ploy to promote a product across various forums through inherently biased "reviews" generated by promotional discounts (something you should always disclose if you want to appear even remotely ethical) - but you chose to do it in a racist ("the Koreans at Samsung haven't figured out how to be "tough American men" like in the US") and extremely obnoxious (too many examples to list) manner - reported.

While I agree the review was extremely obnoxious I don't agree with you reporting the original post of the person offering the cases. They are not selling anything. They are giving cases out free to XDA members for reviews. They have been doing this exact same thing for a while now for various phones so obviously XDA doesn't have a problem with it. Leave them out of this.

Fair enough, @znel52 - while I disagree that giving away cases for reviews is 'not selling anything' (advertising is selling, it's a form of advertising, and a highly questionable form at that) - your point is well taken, and I've edited my responses accordingly.
I didn't follow through with the offer for a free case as the supplier was clearly lying. Their materials state they are a small american family owned company - but they must not speak English to well and the case is far to close to other designs to be original. They also required you to buy a note 20 case as well, no thanks.
