Hi,
I'm flashing to I9000XWJM8 (European Rom) and I don't know what CSC I should pick. I saw this list:
CSC_I9000BMCJH2.rar
CSC_I9000DBTJM1.rar
CSC_I9000HUIHUI.rar
CSC_I9000OLBJG4.rar
CSC_I9000OPSJG1.rar
CSC_I9000OXAJM1.rar
CSC_I9000OXEJM1.rar
CSC_I9000OXXJM1.rar
CSC_I9000TMNJM1.rar
CSC_I9000XEEJM1.rar
on you filesharing server (https://www.wuala.com/Samsung Galax...JM7, XWJM8, XWJM9 and BOJI1/?key=AfzUZSU4SpKU)
My current firmware is:
PDA: I9000XWJM2
Phone: I9000XXJM1
CSC: I9000NEEJM1
I am flashing my firmware via Odin and I've chosen the following files:
PDA = CODE_I9000XWJM8.tar.md5
PHONE = MODEM_I9000XXJM4.tar.md5
.PIT = s1_odin_20100512
CSC = ???
I am aiming for the Tayutama Edition for my phone, so any comments on my chosen firmware is much appriciated aswell.
Thanks!
I just read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780867&highlight=CSC+choice
Which says that I should pick the "CSC_I9000XEEJM1.rar" one since I am from Denmark and the post states that it is for nordic countries.
So should this be my choice or are there alternatives for nordic countries? If there are, which ones and what is the difference?
Any1 got any comments ??
JohnTheOne, please use the infamous "edit" option for posts, instead of triple posting...
EEJM1 is the same as the one you are using now. It will work fine. Technically you don't even need to flash the csc but do it anyway just to be thorough.
Don't forget to do a factory rest after flashing

I have a question somewhat out of left field...
Can existing CSCs, those used with 2.2 and 2.2.1, be used with 2.3.3? I need a CSC that is rarely available in multi CSCs or in ROMs, so it is important for me to know.
I looked through the files and saw no entries that appeared to be version specific, so I am inclined to think they are version agnostic unless things that are too technical for my small brain have been changed.
Anyone know?
Dont see why not CSC only contains a couple of XML and DAT files that can be edited . I certainly swop CSC and modems around but not yet in 2.3 though i have 2.3 modem running in 2.2
The main component of a CSC is just a list of network providers .
Like
<CSCEdition>ED009</CSCEdition>
<Country>UK & IRE</Country>
<SalesCode>CPW</SalesCode>
<NbNetworkInfo>18</NbNetworkInfo>
- <NetworkInfo>
<MCCMNC>23410</MCCMNC
etc etc
jje
Nods..that is what I thought.
I am also using a 2.3 modem with a stock 2.2 ROM right now with excellent results.
Going through the files in CSC I saw lots of details about service provider and language and APNs and preset bookmarks...but nothing about the version at all, so I am pretty confident it has little to do with the guts of the version, just its regional behavior.
This may be a stupid question but please it is legit for me a newbie...
I have flashed to stock italian Gingerbread-no problems so far. I want to replace my region from XEU to XSG which is the Arabic region sales code.
yup this is possible. i did something similar on my tab. flashed stock italian GB posted by chainfire and then replaced all my csc files with those for philippines (XTC, GLB, SMA, XTE).
Kabayan, ok I've read somewhere that you used root explorer to replace the csc folder. Where to get the csc folder that I need is now my problem.....
Would you mind to post a step by step procedure on how to go about replacing the csc sales code?
Can we use csc - arab from froyo to gingerbread?
@bongski55
i used sec_csc.zip from KM3 (froyo) firmware. if you have a copy of your old firmware, it is found in the cache.rfs you could mount it with apps likes ultraiso and then extract sec_csc.zip
@romy4321
you could use csc files from froyo builds.

i think it would work for both.
to be clearly , this is will make the tab totally support the arabic language or only for the modem 3g etc ?
EDIT : i just flashed it , and actually no affect at all , talking about if u want to change the locale to arabic or even if you wanna browse in arabic is not supported .. actually the CSC i know is for modem .
ok here is how you do it after u flash the zip . *#272*MIEI# and choosed EGY and press install ( this will wipe all your data ) . then your tab will reboot , but still doesn't support arabic in locale or even in browser .. so what is the use of it ?
just the 3G/Market issues...

i thought it will also affect on the locale , nvw thanks , am feeling good with overcome gingerbread because in their rom they don't include the modem , so 3g will work even if you are in the moon .. tnx

then i guess it's for those who just flashed stock italian GB.
CSC files contain settings for region/carrier for 3G and not really for modem.
So anyone succeed to get Arabic working ?
Or is there any 2.3.3. Rom supporting Arabic ?
Thanks.

There is still no official Arabic gingerbread release by samsung so there is only temporary patch to partially enable Arabic on Overcome Gold. Go to "the overcome experience" website to download the patch.
Samsung is quite busy with the upcoming releases of the 10.1 and 8.9 tabs so it will take a while for the updates. Even the Italian gingerbread had become unofficial now that it has been pulled out.
If I were you you can write a letter to samsung to pressure them to release an arabic gb..
As I don't like to come back to Froyo, I'll try Overcome Gold Rom and try the arabic patch.

I have a question ... I just updated to official Gingerbread from Kies DDJV6.
Then why are the earlier builds numbered JVK, JVB, JVH ? Are they following a reverse order?
I am confused...
There is I9000XWJVB with CSC = I9000XEEJV3 which Samsung released on April for European market and there is I9000DDJV6 with CSC = I9000ODDJV6 released on May for Asian market.
I read all this on samfirmware.
Thanks for the reply.
I also saw the region codes on samfirmware but what was bugging me was that apparently the numbering system was strange.
However, I will now compare the release dates of the firmware codes from samfirmware only.
Thanks
We can install firmwares from other country codes without any problems right ?
What about the CSC , it shouldnt get affected right ?
Thanks
hi all great forum have a little problem came from criskleo rom v7 and went back to stock rom all fine but when i run kies it wont show my firmware or let me update when i checked i need a multirom xeu when i restore its says multi csc not found can anybody point me in the right direction to a stock gingerbread multi rom with pit and csc file cheers sim_b_uk:good:
You need to find one that matches your original csc... I imagine if you're in uk you'll need an xeu code. There's an lc1 version by car phone warehouse which I think is the latest stock gb for uk with multi csc listed in dr.ketans sticky tyread for stock roms.
