[REQ] Samsung Galaxy S2 weather/clock widget - Nexus S Themes and Apps

I don't know if anyone has noticed the weather widget on the new Galaxy S2 but I think it's very clean looking. I'm wondering if there is anything in the market yet that has that design with a clock as well. Yeah I know there are a **** load of clock and weather widgets out there but I wanted to see if anyone has one that's similar or if someone out there could develop one for all of us. I'll attach a picture of it for everyone. Thanks for the help!

not possible unless somebody makes a mimic of it.
its like saying i want the HTC Sense Clock Widget, you can't pull it out of there because it requires the HTC Sense framework. Only way is to create a mimic of it (Fancy Widget's H7C)
Also there is no dump of Android 2.3.X TouchWiz. Best bet would be to create a skin with that idea in mind for Beautiful Widgets/Fancy Widgets

^ unfortunately that's the truth. Other solution is miui released their weather widget. Its available in this themes and apps section for the nexus s. Download the cwm.zip and flash through clockwork. It has two Widgets one that resembles sense and the other resembles somewhat the one you posted. Hope this helps.

I know it's tied to three launcher framework so I believe the only option would be to create a theme. Anyone up for it LOL?

I believe the only option is to port Touchwiz over. Similar to the HTC Sense clock, you need the whole rosie framework to get it to work.

Yeah I'm just settling for a theme for Beautiful Widgets or Fancy Widget. Thing I hate about Fancy Widget is the battery drain when I use it.

Well battery drain might be a slight exaggeration, but I did notice slightly less battery life when using fancy widget. I use Beautiful Widgets full time and noticed battery life is better.

guys any1 with Samsung Galaxy S2 weather widget ???

Any news about this?

I want this weather widget for use in defy

Did anyone ever find a S2 widget for our Captivates?

here you go
http://www.accuweather.com/downloads.asp

I hope it (S2 weather widget) could be tweaked to work on other frameworks/phones too?
Because some stuff from my Xperia Arc was already made possible for other phones Eg. Sony Panorma camera, Arc Launcher etc.

I can only use it with TW 4...

The best widget of GS2 is the touchwiz calendar....

The weather widget you can download at Accuweather. The clock widget is attached.

Does this require flashing? Root access to use?

Inverted Fancy Widget

I inverted the colors on fancy widget to make it more friendly for black bar themes (chromatic, superbad, speedteam, etc)
available MOD EDIT** LINK REMOVED, fancy widget cannot be linked on xda because of the issue with HTC
Screens below
Good job it looks nice...
Too bad I already downloaded Beautiful widgets.
So I installed this on my evo and it was just the stock fancy widget any reason why ?

Because not all Android phones have the Sense interface and therefore the Sense widgets.

i know that? i was an early adopter of the g1 and the evo so i am very familiar with how android and its skinned variances work. however i like the look of his inverted fancy widget and wanted to use that but when i install his apk it installs as the regular fancy widget and not the inverted

I see. I misinterpreted your question.
This widget is not inverted....plain and simple. Nice try though.
On my Dream, CM5.0.8 this file gives me a widget with white text on a black background. I haven't used 'Fancy widget' before.
Wait no mames! What happened with HTC broseph?

Android Widgets?

When I look at the HTC Aria, there are many more widgets listed under Android while the Captivate has a much shorter list. How do I add those widgets to the Captivate?
Anrdoid Market.
On a side note I really recommend Beautiful Widgets. It is worth the money and adds a very Sense UI like clock / widget fun.

Most of those are likely HTC widgets that only come with their devices.

Good point that is more than likely the case. For a sense ui like feel get LaucherPro (Its free) and Beautiful Widgets (Paid). Or if you like LauncherPro it has a paid version that adds a few extra widgets.
If your using LauncherPro or ADW-Launcher I HIGHLY recommend giving "Pure Messenger Widget" a try. It's by FAR the best social network widget out there. And if your using one of those two launchers I just mentioned its scrollable! You can customize it to make it just like HTC's FriendStream or Twitter widget.
What about things like the stock news and weather widget? I didn't find that in the market and now since replacing touchwiz with launcher pro I don't have access to the daily briefing widget anymore.

Best weather widget for Note?

Are there any decent weather apps out there that work properly with the note's huge 720p screen?
Reason I ask this is because after recently using my personal favourite weather app (beautiful weather) it only takes up a part of the screen and looks ugly.
It has not been updated to stretch and make use of the note's screen.
The note comes preinstalled with accuweather but I do not like it's interface & when looking at the temperatures of other countries it's all over the place.
Any good recommended weather apps made specially for the note or at least take up the whole width of the screen?
Eye candy is a must have, something good looking like beautiful weather.
How about ocean weather.

HTC Sense style weather
Coming from 9 years of HTC devices, I am quite attached to the Sense Weather Clock.
Fancy Widgets has the best app that works well and puts waether and time on the homescreen and links to the stock clock.
There are many other skins included than the Sense one in Fancy Widgets.
How about Beautiful Widgets? I'm using it myself (on my DHD) and it works and looks (after some theming) awesome.
I think it's free at Getjar, but it may have been a "app of the day" thing when i got it.
Beweather is also good.. it also has HTC like or even better animations of the weather when u tap them..
P.S- its free at get jar too..
Thanks everyone for your replies, much appreciated.
I think the best looking weather app I've seen posted here was the Fancy Widgets which I will try.
BazookaAce recommended beautiful widgets which is great and I've tried.
Problem with beautiful widgets is that it's made for devices which are 800x400, which is what you have.
As the Galaxy note is 1280x800 it does not stretch in full screen and looks horrible.
Im using yahoo weather.

I use Beautiful Widgets and Go Launcher EX does a great job of re-sizing the widgets. I have setup my grid 5 wide and 6 high and the only problem now is finding enough widgets to fill the screens.

On the contrary...BW has widgets that expand to the full screen. I tried them all & stuck with BW.

After trying a few weather apps I preferred the one you mentioned, beweather followed by beautiful widgets...
I decided to stick with beweather pro. It's a great looking app having an excellent interface as well as being easy to configure and customize.

Can you please explain how?
I have gone through everything, but can't change it from 4 columns wide to 5.
Cheers.
The launcher has to support it. Its a launcher and not a widget feature. Currently Zeam, ADW (Ex?), Launcher Pro (Plus) and Go Launcher Ex support widget resizing, there are maybe more, dont know.

[Q] Apex with Blink Feed?

Silly question, but I actually don't mind the blink feed, but I also prefer Apex, could it be possible to get blink into Apex??
I'm guessing not, but just thought I'd throw it out there. ATM I use a launcher switch to go between Apex & stock.
I was also wondering if there was a way to get the HTC stock weather widget into Apex.
Must use Sense to use Sense widgets & Blinkfeed.
Workaround for blinkfeed. Remove all homescreens from sense except blinkfeed. Create a shortcut to sense launcher activity in apex. Voila. I just read this, I didn't come up with it.

Yep, that works, thanks. The shortcut idea works much better than having to switch launchers, much appreciated
Now if I can just find out where to get a few Sense 5 widgets from I'll be 100 percent happy.

I found a good clock here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164584 and I'll use Android Pro Widgets. I use them on my Transformer pad and quite like them, only downside is the agenda widget won't accept all my accounts, the stock HTC one in Sense 4 was good for that, and I miss it.

UCCW has some good sense 5 skins. give that a go!
+1 to HD Widgets. You can customize them to look very much like the Sense widgets.

[REQ] Older Sense Weather Animations, More Panels, Transparent Stuff

I know it was kind of a gimmick but 1 thing I miss about my old EVO is the weather animations that were on your screen after unlocking the phone. Not the weather wallpaper like they use now but the 1 that did it on top of whatever wallpaper you used. Is it possible to implement this on one of the 4.3 Sense roms? I would love to see it back.
Also, adding full transparency to the dock and weather clock widgets would be quite lovely.
And lastly, can more panels be added? I like to use widgets for everything so maybe making it possible to use up to 7 would be cool.
Please let me know what you think and if anyone would be willing.
All you Devs kick ass and I'm grateful for your work! Keep it up! I'll donate when I can!

It may not be exactly what you're looking for but...
For the Weather Animations and Transparency for clock widget: Beautiful Widgets + animation add-on
Transparent dock and adding more panels can be done with pretty much any 3rd party launcher (Nova, Apex, ADW, etc)

Glad to hear it worked good for you.
For the weather clock widget, are you looking for the 4x1 or 4x2 flip clock style?
I used HD Widgets for the 4x2 flip clock when I had my GNex and it has a bunch of customization options. (No flip animation though.
I attached a couple of examples of the more transparent options HD widgets has to offer.

Prism.apk from your rom. If you open your rom zip file look in system/app folder.
I also miss the full screen weather animations upon unlock. I wanna see my phone frost up!

You can use 420s Aftermath 2.2 if you want more screens(up to 7) their app drawer and drop down are semi trans.
Xposed installer and Sense 5 toolbox will give you more transparency options if you want.
As far as trans widgets, someone may make one for you if yiu ask the right person. dased offerd, and he is a master of that sort of thing. I too miss a few things, mine is the 4x2 weather widget. Guess theres some things we just learn to live without.

Get Beautiful Widgets Pro. It has TONS of different weather/clock widgets and it has the full screen weather animation. It's pretty close to the old Sense stuff.
