[Q] Query on T-Mobile version of HD7 - HD7 General

I am gonna get a HD7 today from a person who inturn has gotten it from US ( and I'm in Asia), and its a T-Mobile branded phone and is unlocked. The seller doesn't know anything on how it was unlocked.
My queries are:
1. Is it possible to know, How this phone was unlocked ?
2. Is the lock a permanent one ? (I mean, I don't like the phone getting locked again after I perform an update)
3. Any other downsides or restrictions that I might face using this T-Mobile version of HD7 (VS. a Factory Unlocked version of HD7)
All and any feedbacks are welcome
Urgent!!

[Q] Where To Buy The HTC One Unlocked OR AT&T?

As of now htc's website said they would have the unlocked One back in stock by may 25. That is a bit long so does anyone know where i can buy from a reliable website to get it. I also live in America. Or since i am on AT&T should i just buy the AT&T version since i can flash all the same roms as the unlocked version i could care less that i can not put in another sim card really. Is their any diffidence between the unlocked HTC One and the AT&T version in software or hardware?

Don't know about the difference, but got mine at Bestbuy in Vegas locked to ATT.
Last Sunday unlocked, got root and now I'm running ARHD 7.1.
I bought a Sprint HTC One and unlocked it - you have to go through a software setup and email HTC code. They then send you the unlock code. I then installed TWRP TeamWinRecoveryProject as my recovery and then you install SuperSU. You will then be able to flash roms with your rooted phone so I dont really see a big difference buying the unlocked version when HTC lets you unlock their HTC One phones unlike - Samsung Galaxie 4 as what the rumor is.

Unbranded from 3 network (bootloader unlock allowed no)

I recently bought the Xz on the 3 network (uk) and straight away wanted to get on aosp but this was shortly lived when my bootloader unlock status said no!!! Arghhh!!!
After moving from the HTC one X this was a massive disappointment as I loved the IceColdJelly Rom from Lord.
So I started to look into how to get around this and came across a solution online saying you need to network unlock the device officially from your network operator this would then change the bootloader unlock allowed status to yes.
Great but I cannot get this yet as 3 state you need to be over 1 month into the contract witch I sadly am not.
I then done a bit of thinking and wondered if I managed to get onto the official unbranded software from Sony via an official method I may be able to get round it.
To do this I:
Rooted for locked bootloaders
Installed twrp for locked bootloaders
Installed one of the roms for locked bootloader (353?)
Then plugged my phone into the computer and started up the Sony update software and this gave me the option to update my phone to the latest 434? Software (something I couldn't get while on the branded stock rom)
So update done I reset the phone from within settings and preyed my bootloader unlock allowed status had been changed from no to yes. But no it hadn't .
So what's the point of this post?
Well I'm sharing my way of getting the latest update from Sony officially if anyone would ever want to do it that way.
But also I'm opening this thread to discuss if anyone had unlocked their network limitations and found that it changed the bootloader unlock allowed status.
Thank you for your time
Hi.
I renewed my contract with Three and got the XZ, and like you was hoping it had the unlockable bootloader. I knew I had the contract I needed anyway and was prepared to do whatever I had to do if the bootloader was properly locked. In the end the only thing I could do was get rid of the phone and buy one that was Sim free and bootloader unlockable. I bought it from Phones for you and checked the bootloader status before I handed over any money.
When I had my "old" XZ, I put it up for sale and in the hope of getting it sold easier I had it sim-unlocked by Three and I flashed UK unbranded firmware. As expected, unlocking the Sim and flashing unbranded firmware did not change the bootloader status.
In short, the only way to run something like CM is to sell your blower and buy one with a suitable bootloader.
Ah well that sucks surely it's not down to the carrier to impose these limitations apon the end user? There must be a way around this even if it is contacting Sony, surely if I the owner of my phone want to. Unlock my bootloader it's for me to decide, not the middle man.

[Q] Regarding sim lock while flashing rom

I have a Lumia 520. Did register my phone for dev prieviews as you all know that wo 8.1 is due this week. I want cortana on my phone but they aren't releasing it outside of the US until the next year. My phone is an unlocked Indian variant, so I want to flash the us at&t rom on my phone. Now, the question: the phone is sim unlocked, would flashing the at&t version lock the phone to their carrier. Remember, I live in India.

Carrier unlock a G920T permanently

Hi guys,
I need some clarification re: carrier unlocking and how it works. I recently purchased a carrier unlocked G920T, and I was going to start messing with custom roms/kernels and other goodies. My question is: Will the phone revert back to being locked if I do a factory reset or if I unlock the bootloader and flash custom roms?
I'm not a T-Mobile user, so I can't get another unlock code from them.
Thanks!!
The G920T has a carrier unlocked version, which is probably the one you have, not the T-Mobile one. Even if it is, usually a carrier unlocked device will remain unlocked forever unless it was unlocked using a different or hacky method, then there is a possibility that it will relock

Yeahh go ahead, mess with it. when it is carrier unlocked, the software doesn't affect it, unless it is a hacky method like @serio22 said, but there isnt such hacky method for the GS6 so have fun.
If it is a G920T (the T means it's from T-Mobile), then carrier unlocking is not a guaranteed state. I paid T-Mobile the full price to get my GS6 and they "permanently" unlocked it. Then after a OTA software patch all of a sudden it locked itself again and I couldn't use my phone for 2 days while they tried to unlock it. T-Mobile's new device unlocking uses a new system which has the phone "phone home" to their servers to check if you're allowed to use it outside of their network. It happened again when I accepted the Android 5.1.1 OTA. So...beware of T-Mobile's not-very-permanent permanent carrier unlocking.
I am living in india..
My relatives brought me the t model ( i wanted f model instead of i sold in india for quicker updates but got t model...lol )
Anyways,
The moment i inserted my sim, it worked like a charm so its unlocked at the moment.
I dont know how they made payment their or how it was unlocked, but the way used must be legit coz its still stock at the moment without root / recovery etc. .
I read humo saying it can get locked again...
My main question, what are the odds of that happening?
Also since i live in india, i wont be able to contact t mobile via phone/walk in, are there ways i can get it unlocked again?
I dont have the bill too if it matters
i believe they have an app that unlock ur device since that is how i unlocked mine. if not u can try to contact customer service online since u r not in US.
With device unlock app , will i have to pay for unlock my s6 g920t or it'll unlock my device for free.
I have an unlocked s6 tmobile from usa, i heard the flashing stock rom will relock the device.
If the phone will relock then how can i unlock it again?
I'm not sure about flashing a stock ROM relocking the device. Mine re-locked when T-Mobile sent Android security patches. This week I did the Android 6.0 OTA update and it has remained unlocked.
Hey guys! i have a factory unlocked version of s6 tmobile, my question is if i can flash the tmobile MM firmware . My model says "country: cellular south" and the firmware country says us tmobile, so i dont know if i can flash without any problems, (Sorry for my english it sucks) thanks !

You can't downgrade your bootloader so you'd have to pay to unlock it unfortunately

Got it done remotely!
I have a Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T) from T-Mobile. It was locked. But it has an "Unlock" app installed by default. I used it and phone was instantly unlocked! Fast, easy and free!
I used to live in the US for a year and bought a g920T. Since i had the requirements i Unlocked and came back to my country but because of a problem, I had to install a stock firmware and now the unlock is gone.
So i'm wondering, if someone with a unlocked phone made firmware backup, remove the IMEI, and send it online would it work? I mean, right now it works just fine, so i can backup my IMEI and ID and just restore it if needed.
Please help

International or T-Mobile ROM on unrooted stock unlocked ATT phone?

Hi. I am new on this forum and don't know much about rooting and the requirements of such high complex stuff. But I have an ATT unlocked phone which I use on t mobile. It's lacks WiFi calling, whxih I want, and the signal is probably 1 bar lower than it should. Not to mention I can't update my software since ATT servers for the update won't communicate with my phone since I'm no longer and ATT customer and they are generally very slow with their updates
Anyway is it possible to put a international ROM, say the new marshmallow ROM, or even a T-Mobile ROM on my phone? How would one do that? I am aware of odin as I use it to update my software from time to time. Do I just get the international or T-Mobile ROM and flash it?
Thanks.
No way , at&t have a locked bootloader, ):
international..any day..dont even think abt it
Been trying to do this forever. Still no luck.
Anyway to unlock the bootloader? Would my best bet to sell the phone and just get the unlocked one?
AT&T no way , yes get the 925f
