Need for Speed Shift - LG Optimus 2x

When I'm trying to install the program (downloaded from the Market) I'm getting the message: unsupported device and the download stops.
I installed Asphalt 5 and this app works fine.

Anyways, i tried to run N.O.V.A. but it wasn't working, just got a white screen :<

Funny it appears that PC's have less compatibility problems between Intel and AMD then all the ARM-based Android devices.
Hmmmm, beginning to think that perhaps waiting for that Desire S might be the better choice. It'll be slower, yes, but at least all present apps will run on it. Pitty it hasn't got HDMI but at least it has a full metal jacket (no pun intended). It'll feel solid and high quality unlike some of those other plastic phones.

I've sent an email to EA Mobile Support about this a week ago. No response. I regret having bought the game right now - but got it for a buck.

Samurai II: Vengeance

Best game yet for the Gtab. It was released on the market today and is only for Tegra 2 devices. Graphics and gameplay are top notch. Nothing like a good hack 'n slash with alot of blood. Costs around $5 US.
Thanks, will check it out. Really waiting for Galaxy of fire 2 though. hopefully that won't be too long.

no dice.
I want to buy it but it doesn't show up in my Market and since I've modified my build.prop file to look like it's a Samsung Galaxy tab so I could get Swype to work when I go to the web market it shows my registered devices being my Droid X phone and my tablet shows up as a Galaxy Tab. So I can't freaking download this game.
Good call on the game, man. I have TNT Lite 4.2.4 and I'm able to download it fine. Nice graphics. Not quite as nice as Dungeon Defender, but more stylized.

Got this yesterday and I have to say that this is one of the best games I've played on the GTab. Smooth, looks fantastic and sounds great. Well worth the $5.00.
It's like this game was engineered specifically to be run on a Gtab or something. It's truly awesome! Great fun and even nicer then it was on the i-anything.
Can one of you folks that have been able to purchase and download the game tell me how you went about getting it? I've changed my build.prop to show my gTab as an NVidia powered VEGAn tab but when I search the Market it doesn't find this game. When I go to the web version of the Market it shows me the game, shows me that I have a gTab registered, but when I select it as the device I want to install the game on it tells me that this device is not compatible. What am I missing?

I verified I have these exact lines in my build.prop file (which disables my use of Swype) as well as trying your earlier suggestion of doing the Market fix twice but still this app does not show up in my Market.
I guess I'll have to wait until another solution is found for me to try.

The simple answer to that question is no. They made the game specifically to be run on Tegra Based Devices. It's in the "more info" section on the market.

I'm running vegan 5.11. At first the Samurai app didn't show up in my Market even after doing the Market fix several times so I was forced to get the app by other means. Then this morning the app appeared in my Market so i purchased it since I always try to play fair. I uninstalled my sideloaded copy and then tried to install the paid version but it kept saying it was verifying purchase and not downloading the game. I tried rebooting several times as well as doing the Market fix but it kept saying it was authenticating purchase. So after about an hour of this I requested a refund and even though the 15 minute refund period was past I got a refund.
Then to make it even more annoying after all this when I tried to sideload the app again the installer kept telling me that the install failed. I tried it several times and it keeps telling me the install failed. It's like I'm being punished for trying to play fair.

read the AndroidManifest in the game... and you will see that it needs a newer sdk to install .... use adb pull, edit then push back to system\build.prop
If you lke to use tegra2 Optimized games ... they play great and sound great too
That's what I did. I made the edits that were shown and it installed, ran, but that made my vegan 5.11 install unstable. Thumbs keyboard would fc every few seconds and game ran like crap. Samurai runs flawlessly.

Nintendo DS Emulator got released for droid:

I don't think it takes advantage of dual-core processors yet though, nor does it seem to be tablet optimized. Since it just got released its probably not very optimized at all, but hey it works!
I tried playing Pokemon Platinum and i found it too slow to play. Has anyone else had better luck with other games?

To get it to launch you have to put the xoom in portrait mode, then launch the app. It wont launch in landscape mode...lol
I'd be tempted to buy and backup just in case it gets removed from the market or something, and to support the dev's work on getting it optimized. But $6 is way too steep for a app before anyone's reporting it being playable yet.
Version 1.1.4, the latest at the moment I believe, launches on mine in portrait only also, but games are so slow.
In pokemon soulsilver, it took 5 minutes to get the character to take 3 steps left to walk downstairs from his room.
Also not keen about switching between buttons and touch screen all the time, but this is minor compared to the games running at a glacial pace.
But, ya, it is new and I'm sure the dev can squeeze a lot more out of it.
I cant seem to use the touchscreen when playing this...are you guys having issues with the touchscreen as well?
-.- tap the button on the top left and the touchscreen will be available to be used.

Playstation emulation on Xoom

I'm aware that the game compatibility thread covers emulation.
But I thought I'd make a thread to specifically discuss playstation emulation.
I downloaded psx4droid 3.0.0 from the dev site, but it doesn't work on my Xoom, just closes when I open an iso, and says running in the task bar. But doesn't do anything. If you click on it, it closes.
A google search says that 3.0.1 is available, but their site seems to be down at the moment.
I tried FPse, with changing the settings. It worked. But the set to small screen doesn't stick. Have to reset it each time.
And I can't get the wii controller to work with it.
Anyone have any luck?
Found a download for psx4droid 3.0.1 from an alternate source, because zodttd still seems to be down. And the problem is the same. Assign a bios file, have 2 different ones, and then launch an iso or bin file and the app closes and a message comes up in the task bar at the bottom, if you click on it, it brings you back to iso selection.
Well im glad I'm not the only one.. thought maybe it was a bad game file
Yea, this is going to be hard for zodttd because he even stated himself on his site that he doesn't have the new latest android devices so he is doing the best he can with what he has...which to be honest I am amazed he is even still working on it after it got taken off the market.
Oh, and p.s. his site seems to be back up for now: http://www.zodttd.com/wp/
I use FPSE. In landscape, full screen with screen filtering and the enhanced sound emulation at 0 frameskip I play Mortal kombat mythologies, trilogy, and castlevania symphony of the night at full speed no problem. overclocked 1.5 ghz.
I've also got the same problem with psx4droid. I'm gonna try fpse right now.

All you have to do with FPSE and the screen size issue is tab out and tab right back in. It is a minor bug that the developer will hopefully address soon.
You will only have to do this once when loading the emulator.
Also make sure you have HLE mode disabled if you are intending to use the emulator with a proper BIOS.
FPSE isn't as polished overall as psx4droid, but I have found it to handle games a little better. I couldn't get past the first Quistis cutscene of FF8 with psx4droid but maybe this has been corrected now.
I have both psx4droid(only rom tested was metal gear solid) and fpse working on my xoom. I disabled compatibility in spare parts if that may affect it.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
FPse for Android is a really solid Playstation Emulator. Its a paint to get started since the Roms arn't 4MB like N64 and Snes . But once you get through that its very enjoyable.
I also use FPse with the wiimote controller.
Makesure you set the wiimote to the active input keyboard, or it wont work in fpse.
Just checked the site and they've released 3.0.5. It specifically states it's compatible with the Xoom. I installed it and i'm trying it out now.
Yeah...still doesn't work...
fpse doesn't work for me at all...any attempt to disable HLE mode just results in a force close for the next action I attempt, and games won't run with it on either, so I'm kinda stuck. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm running fpse v0.10.39.
Edit: Actually, nevermind. I updated to 10.41 and it's great now, but I can't get that custom overlay working. What am I doing wrong...

Streetfighter collection and wipeout running well. Just wish they'd boost the resolution a bit for the new tablets. Or correct me if I'm wrong but this is def lower res than a ps1, isn't it?

i'm not too sure about the resolution. You can turn on graphics filtering but tends to lag the crap out of some games. I think it mostly looks the way it should though. PS1 games were very jaggy, even the sprite based ones.

I just tried witcher battle arena and it installed and crashed at start. I think its just some ironing out they need to do. If it says It isnt compatable. Im not sure what it is. Just contact the developer and give them a log if you're rooted or just report it.
Kotor says its $5.80 Here. Does not say its not compatible. Not too sure.
Another thing you could try if you're rooted is switch to a lower resolution. Maybe it doesn't support the full resolution
the thing is, I'm currently running stock rooted. Just irks me that my Note 3 picks up everything, but my TF701 doesn't. You'd think almost everything could run blazing on a tegra 4. And I know how to sideload. I just feel irritated that I have to considering Tegrazone advertises these titles.

Ya I know what you mean. The real problem is developers have to support thousands of devices now, all with different versions and configurations.
I just tested witchers battle arena on the nexus 7 with lp just to see and that is a no go either. Doesn't matter to me anymore anyway. A game has to be pretty good for me to even look. For gaming if anything I just use steam Linux.
When the Google Play Store says an app is "not compatible" with your device, it doesn't necessarily mean your device is incapable of running it. I think it is more likely that our TF701T is not on a whitelist of devices tested and approved by the developer. The fact that the TF701T did not sell well, and hence is less likely to be used to test an app by developers, is going to be a problem for games. Also, some apps are region restricted; I remember I couldn't install any paid apps from Mainland China, even though I could install the same apps while in Hong Kong.
Nonetheless, I think sideloading a game is no big deal. I installed KOTOR on my TF701T and it works great (though I'd still prefer a controller or mouse and keyboard).
Don't know if this will help. But what I've done sometimes, is see if I can download the game for my phone. And even pay for it if needed. Then, using an APK extractor app, I get the apk as a file. Connecting to my computer, I can shift the apk to my tablet, maybe through Dropbox. Then, I install the game to my TF701T.
This doesn't always work, naturally. And it depends on whether your phone is on the whitelist for the game. But at least, this is a workaround.
Good Luck.

I am pretty sure any root explore will allow you to copy the apk from /data/app/*yourappnamehere* to your sd card and then do what ever you want with it...
