I actually didn't upgrade market this way but it got updated on it's own but reverted back to original market because it wouldn't let me upgrade or download new apps it would say it download it but it would never install them. So for now I'll be sticking to the old market. In case you want the old market pull it from stock rom or a rom like plainjane and then replace it and delete the market updater this will let you keep the market without it getting updated.

Did you try restarting after installing the new market? I was having trouble with it as well, but after a restart it was able to download and install apps again.

I noticed that too; I think it automatically flags all Google apps for auto-update.
I downloaded the Eris Market Fix from the market and ended up getting the 2.2 market. and check out androidvideo.net on your android. this one of the best sites ive seen
Hey I'm having a problem installing this.
My error message is : "Parse Error, There is a problem parsing the package"
The file name is .apk and it's in the root of the sd card. Any ideas?

I'm on xtrRom 4.6. I downloaded the file and it works great! The only problem is that I can't get my downloads to show up when I try to access them in the market. I have already tried a reboot. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks,

I guess that there are no other ideas. Can anyone describe the steps to take in order to get the regular market back?

Thanks in advance
It doesnt work outside the US. But Paul from MoDaCo has the apk and a possible way to make it work for non US users.

Thanks, but doesn't work for me. If I use MarketEnabler, I can finde the music app in the Market, but it refuses to install, claiming that it's invalidly signed.
If I download the apk from the link above, package installer terminates with a simple 'not installed' message.
Rooted Euro Tab on Swisscom, Switzerland.
Rapax, have you installed honeycomb music player before that? If yes - delete it..

I get the same thing here after upgrading to Gingerbread (Overcome) - I used MarketEnabler to download it from the Market; happily running under Overcome 1.6.x (Froyo) but after Gingerbread all it does is force close upon running.

Yeah Google Music crashes each time since the Gingerbread update... Overcome and Stock too
Here too
Euro tab GSM, running GB overcome 2.0 beta 2
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I pinned down the crashes to two reasons:
Obviously Samsung built our 2.3.3 on rather outdated code and modified some pieces of the mediaprovider...
Usually, the Stock-Music apk allows access to the MediaPlayBackService and Google temporarily revoked access in 2.3.3, so Samsung thought it would be a great opportunity to **** around with the existing code and Changed some things in the Stock MediaProvider-Service thingy
That's the major reason why the Google Music Beta crashes in 2.3.3 but works great in 2.2
So it is not a "Google Thing", it is a "Samsung Thing" and Samsung would have to fix that.. We all know that this won't be likely to happen, so there are two possibilities I see here... We fix it ourselves or someone clever ports the MediaProvider including access to the MediaPlayBackService from the current CyanogenMod 7.something builds to the Galaxy tab. I tried and failed as the modules crashed on boot and I had to reflash the whole system
Anyone interested in getting that done? I'd do it, but I've too little time at the moment to get it done properly :-/ it shouldn't be that hard anyways, I guess...
Someone needs to make this work. I have all my devices working beautifully with Google music without a problem except on my galaxy tab running overcome 2.0.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
I can confirm that the latest update of google music works on galaxy tab with Gingerbread

Have you tried deleting the application data and reboot then? :-/ I used the official market version btw. but that shouldn't make much difference... as I pulled it directly after the install from my tab.
I am unable to download paid apps from the market, whenever i try to d/l it gives an error "an error occurred. please try again". I just have one gmail account configured. Wiped cache, dalvik, app data market data... no avail... it works fine when d/l free apps, and i am able to d/l paid apps but only when buying it from desktop which gets pushed to my phones market.
Anyone got any solution apart from flashing the rom again??. I am on simplicity 1.6.1
Hi,
I encountered the same problem, I was trying to download some of the 10 cent apps google offers at the moment, but no luck. Every time same problem you have described.

Uninstall the market update, download jelly defender, then let it auto update the market again afterwards.
Ran into the same problem last night.
You may have to temporarily freeze the market updater with titanium backup or similar program.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can't stand the number placement on the stock swype and would like to replace it with the one from BO. I actually have done that and it works, but FC's after a reboot until I disable it or reinstall it. I'm currently on a personally custom debloated, tweak'd, heavily modded and deodexed 'stock' v9 rom. idk if that's the issue or what, it did the same thing on a completely stock rom, but can some one help me? I can't go back to the old swype!!!!!!
My wife said I need a snickers. lol
No, but seriously. Help?

Uninstall the Swype app with an app that has root access, then delete the application data in /data/app, then go to beta.Swype.com and register for an account or login if you have one. You can then download the Swype installer. Run the Swype installer and login, then download and install the latest beta.

Hi Folks,
I have flashed kallt_kaffe's rom located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28871951&postcount=1
Everything worked except these:
I can't see my galaxy tab anymore on 'my computer' when I connect it via usb. Also Kies can't recognize the tablet.
I have flashed gapps however not everything installed along with it. Google Maps is missing for example and when I try to do a voice call through Gtalk, it shuts down immediately.
What would you suggest?
Just found the solution to the first issue: Enabled MTP device via storage settings.
However looks like Gapps does not install properly; Google Maps is missing and voice/video calls in Gtalk won't work
Re-download gapps and re-flash it. It may be a bad download.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I did it like 5 times and still won't work.
Also checked the files if they are in place through ES file explorer and they indeed were.
Tried to install some of them and got 'install failed' error...

Uninstall gtalk and then reinstall. Get maps and gtalk from the store. That'll probably solve your problem.

More importantly, I wouldn't commit to that particular ROM, as the developer abandoned it without warning almost two months ago.
I did it uninstall and then reinstall and it still did not work, so frustrating.
Very strangely, when I accessed the Maps through the store app, it told me that it was not available in my country??
and later I was able to install it through the browser.
Plus when I chose 'all the apps from Google', I could see only the one third of all their apps.
I can't figure this out... only for this I could go back to stock ICS.

Try android 4.2.1, it's a dream on this tab...
Thanks for the suggestion. I found the solution to the Gapps issue, just replaced the Gtalk from an old Gapps package and it worked like a charm.
Anyway is that ROM stable yet?

I'm using C-o-M's unofficial CM 10.1 and it's simply amazing. It's breathed new life into my tablet and I no longer feel the urge to run out and get a Nexus 10 just to have the latest version of Android.
