So I was rooted, using Auto-Nooter 3. Tonight decided to go back to stock using the 8 interrupted boots method. At first I thought it worked just fine as after what I assumed was 8 (did not count) it started installing the software update. Problem started after that when the Android splash screen shoed up again, thought I had returned to stock. Turns out I was stuck on the Android splash screen reloading and reloading, again and again. So I tried again with the 8 boots, and same things happened again. Stuck on a endless loop of the android splash screen over and over.
I am not sure what method I should try to recover my NC - I do not have the black screen so not sure if I should use the Dummies Guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=949699 or if I should try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914690
Just hoping someone can point me in the right direction so that I can recover my NC back to stock - I had upgraded to 1.1 prior to rooting.
Thanks for any help!
I'm far from an expert here, but yes, follow that guide. It will take you back to stock and you can start over. To my untrained eye, sounds like your boot partition got corrupted and this will take care of it.
Just follow the instructions carefully and completely and you should be fine.
yea used the dummies guide - Moster rootpack and 1.01 zip saves the day.

I rooted my friends G1 using the following guide http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_G1/Dream_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod#Flash_Android1.6_.26_CyanogenMod_latest after step 16 (updating the to the newest Radio) the box icon with the phone has been here for about 10mins now without rebooting itself. Should I pull the battery or leave it and it will reboot itself after a while.
Fixed that.
Now after the android splash screen the screen went black.
Do a complete wipe. If that doesn't help, boot into recovery and flash any stable rom.
Hey,
I need some help. I got an I9000M the other day and have been doing a lot of reading towards rooting and eventually SIM-unlocking the phone.
Currently, with the chainfire root method by installing that kernel through Odin i expected that I would have had a rooted phone.
However, the flashing process was completed successfully and after it was finished, I was supposed to let my phone reboot but its stuck at the black and white galaxy s screen.
What happened?
Perhaps I installed the wrong kernel?...anyways I have no clue. Please help so I can proceed towards my goal.
*Also if I just flash an original firmware will it start me back at where I was from the beginning? That way I can figure out which CF I should have used...
Just pull the battery, 3 button into download mode (Vol Down+Home+Power) and ODIN flash to stock.
Do a little reading and make sure you have the right version.
BUT BEFORE YOU DO ANY OF THAT, pull the battery and see if it starts up. My phone always gets stuck on home screen after an Odin flash and have to battery pull to get it to load.
alright thanks, i flashed to stock and now i am going to try and figure out exactly which CF will work.
I am completely knew to android modding so please go in detail and give links.
I was working on putting Icecoldsandwich on my phone. I had trouble getting it booting because I wrote the boot.img and didnt have clockworksmod installed. I installed it and got Icecoldsandwich installed but it was incredibly laggy. and took about 15 minutes to boot. I guess i missed something obviously. So i was tried to flash back some files i found which were apperently the original ones, still stuck at boot logo, I flashed back clockworksmod and it will not boot any more. Is my phone bricked, or am i just doing everything wrong? Please help
My phone is not rooted, bootloader unlocked
Follow the steps in this thread. Since you're already unlocked, you may skip those specific steps.

So, I have a blue and white Nexus 6. The blue one has been unlocked, rooted and twrp. The white has been too but has an issue where it sometimes loops at the google logo. The only way to get it running again is to turn off the phone and wait a few minutes.
I've used the wug toolkit (1.9.8 and .9) MANY times to go back and forth from various states of factory and unlocked/locked/rooted/unrooted/unecrypted/etc. They all "work" in the sense that eventually it will boot up but at various points it gets boot looping again. I've done factory resets within the OS and recovery. Same problem.
Has anyone seen this....where a phone will boot loop but temporarily turning off resolves it? Is something corrupted and not recoverable? I really want to keep the white one but have no choice it seems. Is there another file I can flash that isn't in the google factory images?
Desperate!
PS: This seems to have started happening since I got the white phone---I think that first OTA went wonky but have no idea how to start over pre-OTA. The blue one has given me ZERO issues and is unlocked/rooted/twrp.
Ok, this is my first Samsung phone (used mainly LG/HTC phones) I can root and I've gotten TWRP installed but every time I try and install a ROM it will get to the Samsung screen and the Tmo jingle will ring and go into a boot loop. I installed the 5.1 update not knowing that it would be this difficult to flash a darn ROM onto this phone. Once it boot loops I Odin the 5.1 firmware back onto the phone and restart the process. I just need a little help on what ROMS can be installed and a step by
step process on what to/what not to do.
Thanks
