Ok, I have the SDK installed. For my MT4G adb sees my device, it also sees it in fastboot. But for my streak 7 when I do ./adb devices it says ?????? No Permissions
I'm pretty sure it's because the driver is not installed. How do I go about getting adb to work in Linux?
http://www.attdroids.com/forum/motorola-backflip-development-hacking/354-backflip-how-adb-linux.html
and i guess you have to put in the vendor id and mode that is specified for the streak 7.
i know it is 413c for vendor id...

Thanks! ADB is now working
What exactally are you trying to do. If you are trying to dump the images, you can do that through the terminal on the device. Honestly the only thing I have ever used adb for is to root the device initially.

When you get your pc up and running give me a shout,I'll walk ya thru it.
'S-OFF' is more than just changing your splash screen.
It's also a wonderful recovery and testing tool. With the eng-spl you now have access to fastboot (part of the android sdk, usually in tools folder). You no longer need to boot into recovery to flash things (provided they come in .img format). You also can properly wipe your phone via fastboot. If you ever lock yourself out of recovery, a fix is just a fastboot away.
You also allow for flashing via HBoot also, but with fastboot access it's pretty redundant as HBoot requires a bit more work to get ready.
Pretty much, by going S-OFF with the eng-spl, your chances of a bricked phone are slim to none. As long as you can turn the phone on and access fastboot usb mode, you can get your phone working again.
If you want help with fastboot, simply type fastboot from your android sdk \ tools folder or google it.

I followed the instructions to a T and it said it was completed but when i installed root checker it said i wasnt rooted. ( just asking when rooting are you supposed to turn off the phone or do you leave i on because i just left it on. I installed the drivers but idk what is wrong.) I am trying to root so i can get jb. Thanks for a help. And if im posting thus in the wrong place please tell me so everyone doesnt hate me. Thanks

so you installed motorola device manager to get the correct drivers right? if so just wipe caches on your phone from within recovery (power + vol-up simultaneously with power off) and try motofail2go again. make sure you are doing the bug report button combo correctly. just keep trying
When im doing motofail do i turn off my phone?

Homescreen is where you start the process.
Make sure you have unknown sources checked in settings and usb debugging turned on.
And when the process is successful will something
Happen? Like will the phone reboot or something?

I found that flashing Mexican Retail removes the bootlader warning and never returned once flashing any ROM thereafter. Stock included
the problem is that I dont have a PC for me to do this my friend.
I think I have an image on my phone that I saved there and I think I like a lot for that boot image to be.
If someone can make me one with my image if is NOT too much to ask that will be great so I can flash it through CWM

Nevermind this post...read yours wrong and thought you wanted the MR logo for CWM....did the dd instructions, but still....
download this post's attachment with your phone
rename logo.bin.zip to logo.bin
open Android Terminal Emulator and do the following commands
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/Download/logo.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk1p29
I think the default location for Downloads is /sdcard/Downloads, change the if=/sdcard/Download part of the command if it isn't.
This requires root, unlocked bootloader, and busybox being installed...not sure if stock has the dd command by default or not...hence the busybox recommendation. Plenty of busybox installers in the market.

Thanks this did it for me.
One question to skeevy though about this subject.
I was wondering if anyone have tried to mess with the files. It should be a command file some where at the system that write the permissions or something to load the boot image.
Do you know what will be this file so we can try to make changes to it as resolution (Image size) ?
Reason I ask is because maybe we can change the image size like from 540x540 to 540x960 or something like that
1st my friend is using my computer so I won't have it in front of me until tomorrow. I don't wanna use cwm recovery..I'm on new touch drivers and goomanger doesn't have the new one up...
Anyhow to my question....how can you flash recovery.IMG in terminal emulator?..I know how to do it on aosp etc...the regular commands doesn't work so maybe you gotta add files to system to make it work?...I know it's possible to do it through a terminal emulator if goomanager can flash recoveries. Anyone know how to do it? Thank you

Did you gave root access to xposed? Do you even rooted your device?
Grab a logcat, it'll show the actual reason why it's failing.
You can also install it through ADB (or `pm` from a terminal emulator), that'll directly give you the exact error.

I've normally only seen that error when the file is already in the system somewhere. I don't know the file structure of an LG phone and I'm sure it's completely different than a Samsung. Check also in data/app
