This is a blue theme for Serendipity 6.4. It is not compatible with Serendipity VII.
Let's start with the thank you's:
MikeyMike01: for the excellent ROM this is designed for/off of, and his tutorial in the Captivate General section that really helped me make this.
ChanceM: for his contributions to Serendipity and his RedRom theme which showed me what to theme and how to do it
and the Bluedipity boot animation.
Rodman101: for testing and taking screenshots of the blue Samsung SMS/MMS app
And the many authors of the tutorials and guides that I read on how to compile/decompile and other things.
Things currently themed:
Phone/Dialer
Swype (plus an alternate theme)
Calculator
Calendar
Market
framework-res
twframework-res
Gingerbread Keyboard
Settings
Launcher

You have to Hex Edit the .so file.
And the color code is not Rr Gg Bb. It's Bb Gg Rr. #ABCDEF would come up as EF CD AB.

here's the Phone.apk with a blue end call button:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4516127/Phone.apk
Warning: when i pushed this to my phone, I didn't get any signal until I rebooted.
PS: I would like everyone's opinion of whether I should change the download in the first post to incorporate this Phone.apk,
or if I should simply add this to the "Add ons" post.

attached is the blue G-Mod style battery
also the blue end call button is now included in the main download

AT&T Captivate Android Theme:
This is a Frankenstein of sorts and is still a work in progress. This theme is what I have put together after taking all of my favorite pieces from other themes, and the putting in a little PS work of my own. Thanks go out to a few different sources for saving me the effort of having to create my own icons.

Change Log:
v2.4-2.5: XML for secondary black on black colors fixed. New twframework-res.apk added. Looks much much cooler.
v2.3-2.4: Ginger Kids inspiration. Took some parts from Gingerbread and applied them to my theme. Looks like it was meant to be. Image changes include: Check Boxes, Radial Buttons, & Menu popup (when you press menu hardkey). XML changes include: White text for black menu popup, and grey secondary color instead of TW blue throughout the system!
v2.2.1-2.3: BLACK SYSTEM BUTTONS ARE BACK!! XML Edits for white text so I can use black buttons throughout the system! (Thanks fritzgerald!)
v2.2-v2.2.1: Lockscreen themed! Check boxes and more themed darker!
v2-v2.2: Contacts Dialer Tab fixed(ish)! Dialer Tweaks. Long hold power menu AOSP skins used. Settings themed. Notifications made transparent (I couldn't use the darker one as previously mentioned on media player notifications the text is black and couldn't be seen.). Thumb Slider themed. You will need to go into your MM settings, and move the delay slider all the way to the right (longest time available).
This should work for most builds. If you dont see your ROM build in the flashes then this is what you will want to try! If your current ROM does not have 1-100% battery then use "No Batt" version!! Remember make sure USB debug is on, and for Froyo if you get a FC or a crash then soft reset. When phone is back up continue on to the next part of the theme! Have not tested on Eclair but it should work.

Whats Inside:
New Flat Black Dialer Skinned by Me.
Transparent Carbon Fiber Pull-Down Background, to match the battery cover of course.
Gradient Black bar from Minimalistic Mod
Lots of parts thanks to Jonnybueno and his GlossyBlack theme.
(I used this as a base for most of the theme but have removed most of the "gloss" and replaced with a flat black gradient.)
Taskbar Icons from the HiResHTC Mod (more stock AOSP looking)
UOTKitchen "Enhanced" battery icon w/ %
Dont like the Battery??
Tazman171 has uploaded this theme with different batteries HERE:

My theme WILL still work if afterward you use one of the circle battery mods of your choice!

Awesome work. Do you mind if I use this as a base for my red and black theme? It'll save me from having to skin a lot of images since this is what I was going for in the first place.
Looking good....will morph and report back.

You can either to it the hard way, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=812541
Or, what I would personally recommend.
Take my Metamorph file and using winrar or 7zip double click the file to open it.
Take the file you want to use and rename it "status_bar_background.9.png".
Replace the old file inside of MMDarkness/twframework-res/res/drawable-hdpi with the new one you just renamed, close the file, and place it on your phone.
Using Metamorph find the new theme, If there was an old Darkness theme then "Replace" not update, and then theme the twframework-res theme.
You are done, soft reset to see changes!
Do you have to change the size of the graphic before injecting it into framework.apk?

Very cool Reefer....glad to see some new morphs coming.
Well that got borked. I followed the steps in the post you pointed me to and it black screened on me. I fortunately had nixxed's update.zip on my sd card and was able to get back to a working phone. Guess I will save that for a later date

Was I only supposed to put it in one framework? I put it in twframework-res.apk and also framework-res.apk
I didn't try it your way as I didn't put your theme back on after my earlier restore. I had done something and my nandroid was of b6 which had your theme on it but didn't realize it was b6 so I restored then updated to b7 and didn't put your theme back on. To make a long winded explination
I have applied the morph (great work by the way, made my first one today lol) but the top buttons above the dialer didnt change. I still have the default blue. Do you know what the png is called for that one? Also on the lock screen once you slide it over to unlock it the back half turns back to green green?

General Info
I do not have a Desire HD to test this on, so I would appreciate it if someone could a.) alert me, preferably on twitter, when a new build is made, and b.) let me know if the theme I post here works.
This theme is extensive with over 2000 edited .png files and more than 35 .xml files.
There are no icons included with this theme. If you would like icons, then you can use ADW.Launcher or ADW EX download Minimalist - ADW Theme.
If you would like to donate to me for my work in this theme, then you can download the Donate version of the above mentioned theme. Search for "Minimalist Donate - ADW Theme" to find it.
If you would like to port this theme to any other device or use any part of it for your own doing, then you can download my images and edited .xml files from this post.
You do not have to ask me if you can port this or use any part of it. You do not have to credit me for any of my work in this theme.
I will not be checking this page frequently, but I will try to answer any questions posted here whenever I update the links. If you want a quicker answer, then I suggest saying something to me on Twitter (@david1171_).
This theme is for the official CM7 Nightly ROMs.
Theme Info
The widgets are transparent with white text. I recommend using a dark wallpaper.
The font included in the theme is the Ubuntu font.
If you are using Amon_RA's recovery and the theme is not applying after flashing, then you need to use clockwork recovery.

Install Instructions: PLEASE READ!!!
1. Set MetaMorph delay to around 1000 (My exact number is 1054) then press Close
2. Press Unzip/Extract new theme
3. Navigate to where you have Minimalist_Lockscreen_Icons.zip located
4. Select the file
5. Press close on the on the pop up that appears
6. Press Apply all!
7. It WILL force close com.android.phone when it applies the Phone.apk, I do not know of any way around this.
8. While the force close pop up is on the screen, another pop up menu will appear behind the force close pop up and the buttons will say either Continue? or Stop; you must quickly press Force close on the force close pop up, then press Continue? on the other pop up menu; it will then start applying the framework-res.apk
9. The device may freeze up at this point, if it does freeze up (mine did), then wait about 30 seconds, then pull the battery and boot your phone
10. Everything should be applied now

Yup just realized and I love it! Awesome theme, but one bug. When you type on the keyboard, the letters pop-up and show the letter in a box usually, well the box is black and the letter doesn't show up :/ The small "..." shows in white but not the letter. Just thought I'd let you know. But to make a theme for a phone you don't have is just TALENT!
Oh and the "&" button on the keyboard says "&" I think.
Use a different keyboard . HTC IME mod is great.
There is a bug in the browser, small and not very noticeable though:
(the part marked red)
I like gingerbread keyboard more than HTC imo :/
I made a splash1 to suit the Minimalist theme.
You need HBOOT S-OFF to flash it.
Unpack and flash using adb with the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 splash1.img
File in the attachment.
i thought the latest cm7 builds supported themeing through apk's? or can minimalist not be ported through it?
Updated to cm_ace_full-18.zip. Fixed the "&" problem with the keyboard, also fixed the letters not showing on the popup when you hold a letter.

I've known about the "&" bug for a while but didn't know what caused it until today when I really started looking for it. There is an extra amp; in LatinIME.apk/res/xml/popup_punctuation.xml at line 7 where it says <Key android:keyLabel="& amp;amp;" /> instead of <Key android:keyLabel="& amp;" /> which is what it should've said to begin with. I think the problem was apktool was doing adding the extra amp; when it was decompiling the .apk. The other one was something I never really paid attention too, but I fixed it in LatinIME.apk/res/values/colors.xml at line 12 by making <color name="latinkeyboard_key_color_white">#ffffffff</color> instead of <color name="latinkeyboard_key_color_white">#ff000000</color> which it previously was.
It isn't that hard for me to include this phone, the only difference it has from the Nexus One version that is on my phone is that framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk, and Browser.apk are taken from the device specific ROM and themed. The rest are the same .apk's that I use.
The only real work is uploading ~175MBs worth of themes and downloading ~720MBs worth of ROMs.

Thank you for pointing that out to me. I don't ever look at the top of the browser enough to notice that, or I move away from it before it gets to that image. It is fixed in this version. Also, I like the splash screen that you did.
This thread has by far been the most helpful in pointing out things; the screen shots make it a lot easier to know what the problem is.

Because of all the .xml's that I have edited in this theme (along with the ton of .png's) I do not know how all of it would be made to work with the theme engine. Also, as far as I know, there is not a guide out on how to make the themes, or even what all can be themed with the theme engine. Even if I did know how to do all that, after looking at the source for the themes available, there would still be several thousand lines I would have to type up for it. For now, the current method is easier (not to mention proven to work with all my mods) for me.

can you possibly add a flashable add-on to bring back the slider (unlock/sound off or on)? it looks weird without it...
Edit: the & key on the keyboard shows up as "&". Looking forward to a fix.

I put a flashable keyboard in the OP later on that day because I forgot about those until after I had uploaded the 9 themes, but the fixed version is in the themes now. The "<" key was also messed up along with the letters that were displayed when you longpress the "(" key.
If metamorph works with CM7 without force closing or messing anything up when applying framework-res.apk, then I can make a morph to add them back.

2.15 added sbrissen's 5 lockscreen mod, fixed the dialer edf bug...and some random image fixes
2.11 added eb01 option...new pulldown images for it...and removed media scan from the pulldown menu
2.2 v3.5 added dialer w/ googe voice mapped into the voicemail button, credit adryanlyne...fixed back button in trans dialer as well
2.2: v3.1 credit sbrissen for reboot options and accurate battery! also, for some reason the trans dialer wont recognize the back button...i dont know if its because of the xml changes...ill see what i can do...as for the incorrect stretching on the home button task manager...ill look into it further but i cant seem to make the .9 stretch right
2.1 update 2: fixed analog clock (credit adrynalyne's super clean rom) and converted mms.apk to again adryn's rom..a few other images fixes
2.1.11: version 2 engraved is out (i made a version 1 for when this was still a private leak, so for my own sanity its v2) whats themed?: browser, framework, news/weather widget, contacts, dialer, icons, etc...also if you havent done so already, will convert puzzle lockscreen to aosp lockscreen...based on the stock dl30 leak...updates will come as superclean roms/apps come out
*reboot options and acc battery*
***if you're going to grab the transparent dialer or something else, just let me know/give credit***
Whats coming up in future releases? for those that want a slightly themed tw launcher that ll be out (changing the home/app keys) more apps, changing stock apps to aosp apps as they come out, bugfixes, change some more images etc

Any chance that a non-engraved and/or accurate battery mod version is in the works?

Great work man . thanks a ton . One thing i have noticed .. is when i press and hold home to get recent apps / task manager , its off centered to the right . it cuts off . just a heads up .
Looks great.. Thanks a bunch.

Having the same issue here.
I really like that background wallpaper. Can someone post a link?
Edit: Also in the transparent dialer. There is no delete key, although you can press where its supposed to be and it will work....
Edit 2: Found another slight design issue. In the contacts app if you use the letters on the side to jump to a specific part of your contact list, the letter isnt lined up properly when the square appears on your screen.

Watsaa, I just wanted to point out that the icons in the extended power menu for recovery, reboot & download still appear to be battery icons. No big deal. Just wanted to let you know.

How do I remove the clock in the Notification bar like in the previous theme BlackAndroid4.1.1.zip you had for Twinger 4.1? I liked that.

I like the Blackout Theme! Nice!
One non-issue issue I found was that the Epic unlock screen has the icon missing. No biggie. Works fine otherwise.
Edit: After first boot with the theme, I was playing around with the wi-fi toggle in the pull down menu and it started to hang things up. Had to do a battery pull. Everything working ok so far now.
Is there any way you can do this with your swype theme? Yours is very close, but I'm really hung up on the grid pattern. It was on Precision 2.0 and I've had it with me ever since. The problem is that for me to bring it along, I have to do some quirky stuff to install it, so would be very cool if you would consider it packaged in your theme just to make life easier.

Is that allowed for me to post? I'll pm ya when I get to my computer later today.
The thing is, not sure if it's a easy as just including in your theme. I had to uninstall current swype.apk and libswypecore files, reboot, then download beta swype, delete the com.swype.inputmethod file in /data/app folder, THEN transfer the themed swype apk and lib files, and reboot (sometimes) to get it to work.
If I didn't do it this way the keyboard would still pop up, but you could only tap the keys to type. Swyping wouldn't work.
I told ya it was quirky.

Woo. Got it flashed and loving it. I don't dislike that font as much as I said I did initially, but I'm still not crazy 'bout it.
The ICS transitions are working/looking great. Glad you included that!
Black text in pulldown is barely legible; I think I mentioned that on IRC earlier though.
I'll be on IRC most of the day, if you'll be getting on I can mention anything else I notice as well as test stuff for you if you need a guinea pig.
OP Updated theme. Changes are in the first post. I will be working on the landscape pulldown icons soon!
do you have the stock GV 1.3 theme files that are flashable?
Coming from ICK and some things arent changing, including the font unfortunately. Really like this font.

If you're changing from ICK, these are the APKs I modded.
Framework-res
RES_cappuccino
systemUI
Settings
Contacts
Phone
DownloadProvider (this one hasnt been modded yet but will be soon)
I can make an ICK eraser if that would help
