basically what i had in mind is
SE live view , but with speaker, so you can unattach it, hold it up to your ear and speak, like a normal phone did
hybra orb, which i dont know when it will come out or ever will
tokyoflash kisai escape c, but with speaker so i can just grab it and hold it to my ear and speak, like a normal phone
asus MeMic, which is not out yet, and it might be a bundle and dont know if its gonna be sold separately
jabra bt3030, but with speaker so i dont need an earphone to receive calls
or anything else, a pen, necklace, ring, watch, pendant, bracelet , car kit that can be used like a phone
been googling with no luck
there's 1 though, xero something or bt-02 from chinese wholesaler that shaped like a cellphone, but its not stylish at all ^^
and i got 1 bluetooth pen that had speaker and mic
http://cgi.ebay.com/Wireless-Blueto...er_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item3cb393601e
but i'm not sure if its a normal phone speaker or a speaker phone
basically what i want is accessories that you can use / put / wear / hold to replace my tab when there's a call
headset is fine but with that earhook or things like that, makes it uncomfortable if i put it in my jeans pocket since its tight and afraid that its gonna break
well, if anybody got any reference, would love to hear that
thanks before

I am really happy with my HT 820 but this looks great and small!
I would really be interested in getting one......
Maybe PM me or email.>?
Or post?
Why does every body oohing and ahhing about this piece of junk? IT DOES NOT VIBRATE!!!!.... Let me repeat. IT DOES NOT VIBRATE!!!! So the only way for you to get call notification is to either wear the ear pieces all the time or turn on your Athena default ear shattering notification sound. Now, I understand that a lot of you think that no one will ever call you or the line of work that you're in will never ever require you to attend any meeting at work so the default loud Athena notification is not a problem. But think again!!!! On that rare occasion when the hooker you paid to go out on a date with you calls, you will find yourself looking like an IDIOT emitting that horrible stupid default call notification sound that came with the Athena. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING THIS PIECE OF SH*T.
The only stereo BT headset that also vibrates up until now is the Jabra BT8010.

We all got your point dude. Perhaps a bit nicer way could be a better way of informing and putting your point across. This is a forum to share information, where manners would be nice (other than info).

Manner would be spending a minute searching for more info (problems, etc...) about the item one is thinking of posting that have been reported time after time after time after time... up here before starting another thread tricking people into buying junks....
I'm with you Red_Toyol.
I bought this headset and the Jaba but took the Jaba back after a few days in favour of this one for two main reasons. First, the sound quality on the Sony-Ericsson is definitely better, both on Music and both ways on calls. Secondly, the wires for the earpieces act as the necklace so you wear it round your neck (and inside your shirt) and it only comes out when needed.
Now, since using it for some 4 months now, I can give you a couple of other pointers.
The DS970 has caller display so I can see who's calling before I answer. OK, it's number only (there's probebly a fix for names) but I'm good with that.
Also, I charge mine once every two weeks or so. That's as I use it only now and then for music but for phone calls all the time. However, I leave the BT on the Ameo ALL the time but switch off the headset when not using it. That's because, when the phone rings (and I only have 20seconds before switching to answer machine), I have time to power up the headset (about 5 secs including logon to Ameo) and answer. When call finished, I hang up and switch off.
If you do this, you get sooo much battery life for no convenience loss AND it means vibrate would be useless anyway.
Each to their own I suppose but I am so pleased with this bit of kit. IF you need vibrate, look elsewhere. If not, this is the best IMHO.
Oh, and as for the ringing, why would you use the default ringer anyway? I have my own ringtones for various purposes and when I get a call, my Ameo rings as if I didn't have a headset. The only difference is I can choose at that point which method to answer by.
Hope this is helpful to those searching. Cheers.
DS970 indeed looks like quite an ideal BT headset.
Vibration is completely unnecessary for me also. Even if I have such a function, I won't use it. The reason is this. If I'm outdoor, I want normal ringtone to come through from the phone's speaker. If I'm in the meeting, I would just switch via profile into one of those "special ringtone". Special ringtone could be mosquitoe ringtone (ultrasonic frequency ringtone which I can hear but some others can't), sound of coughing, or even sound of a vibrating phone, etc. Something that sounds acceptable from etiqeutte standpoint. In addition, my profile would have set the ringing to go from soft to progressively loud. There is no need to actually vibrate.
I like the style of the phone where you can hide it in your shirt with only two wires hanging out. It is much better than hanging it on the ear, which looks really wierd in my own opinion.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Beware of fake HBH DS970 from ebay sellers.
I did a quick research on this, and noted that many have bought from Hong Kong sellers mainly, but some are out of US too.
If you have it very cheap, it's likely to be a fake.
Attached are some articles related to these fake items.

Tritton - Another Option
Here is another option I came across while looking for a BT solution. The Tritton relies on the housing to clip on your pocket, shirt or coat but I have also used it with a lanyard when wearing a t-shirt. It also allows you the option of using any stereo headset with a 3.5 mm plug.
It is a very clean, mimimalist design (no blinking blue light) with an OLED display and Caller ID (number only) to conserve battery and relies on only 3 buttons for all the functions. So far it has worked very well with the Advantage and the range for both headset and stereo functions has been excellent with no static or popping at all. You can actually keep your device in your pocket, bag or briefcase without any degradation to audio quality. The only con is that there is not vibration feature.
I purchased mine at Tiger Direct for less than $100.
While trying to source for DS980, I came across DS220, which seems to be similar to DS980 except you're free to plug in your 3.5mm earphone of your choice if you wish.
Has anyone used this before? If so, how is the sound quality?
Anyone knows if there are other differences between DS980 and DS220?
bizarre this thread should appear as i bought some of these this very day for 40 quid from Cex, though they are brand new and CERTAINLY not fake. certainly if they are available for twenty quid il be gutted!! they seem to work fine. sound quality is great and i dont feel like a **** wearing them. all good then. the only thing i havent figured is whether i can get it to automatically open up media player when i press play. i also cant get it to work with my n95 - after pairing it just says 'unable to connect'. stupid n95.

my main gripe with the sony units is that they have their own propriety charger connection, a kinda bastardised Sony phone charger.
IMHO the tritton unit is much better, recently upgraded to one from a hbh-ds970
i guess it all depends on each other's preferences. some like the headset to vibrate, some like it hanging via neckstrap, etc.
this is what i've been using for 2 years now:
http://www.itechdynamic.com/en/products_spec.asp?cid=2&pid=02030
it's an r35 itech unit. i use the white one and i like it for the following:
- no need to hang it in your ear all the time
- minimalistic and you can hide it in your shirt collar...or clip it
- has a built in buzzer that i can hear even when outdoors. when a call comes there are 2 beeps that go off. they won't stop until i answer or the caller hangs up
- my x7500 is either in my laptop bag, the diaper bag or in a backpack. so this saves me the trouble of carrying it all the time
- during meetings, i can disable the buzzer and change the notification to rapid light mode. basically, i leave it on the table so when a call comes through the normal flashing light turns to 2 rapid flashes
- i can change the single earphone to dual for a2dp stereo use. the headset also allows me to skip to the next track or go back to the previous, etc
- and i can plug my nifty bose noise cancelers on it as well
cheers
I really cant understand why no one does the following:
a2dp
usb chrging
option for using your own headphones
vibrate
full caller id- not just number
sms viewing
full music controls
mp3 id tag display
lanyard or clip on option
equaliser controls
oled
wm and symbian compatitibilty
Surely it can't be that difficult- I just wanna be able to leave my Ameo in my pocket until I choose to take it out
VERY COOL BT EAR PIECE!
The thing i enjoy about this the most is the ability to listen to music from my phone! I was kinda sketchy to the concept, but it is MONO sound, and sounds very good. The sound quality and volume is nice.
The ear bud fits snug in my ear and doesn't slip out or bounce around when i turn my head.
Since it allows music, you can also hear your ringtones, applicaiton/game noises, and other sounds your phone makes.
Another rad feature is the "MultiPoint" connection that allows you to connect up to 8 devices, and have 2 working at any one time.
It's a small ear piece, but is good quality, sounds great, and works well!

i really like the looks of itt nice and small
i was jus wondering i have a HTC TOCUH from bell
and with this bluetooth will i be able to hear songs from my phone
in other words i can use this as a wireless headphones too?
cause couple of days ago i stopped by to look at some bluetooths
and the guy at the store told me tht HTC TOUCH doesnt support that
soo no metter what bluetooth u get it wont work.
and that was disappointing soo then i didnt buy one.
I just bought one of these... they're on sale right now at:
http://www.2daysbargain.com/
It ends today so you need to make up your mind pretty quick.
HTC Touch supports A2DP which is the main thing in supporting stereo music. The BT8040 also supports this (majority of mono headsets won't), so you shouldn't see any issue using the two together.
I hope at least... that what wryun mentions he's doing. It's also what I plan on doing. And from other reading it sounds like there won't be an issue.
I had one of these. In theory it could have been the greatest earbud ever. Unfortunately I had constant issues.
First, you cannot keep it in the traditional diagonal position for an earbud as the microphone rests on your cheek and is thus muffled.
Second, and this is what really pissed me off, the mic eventually stopped working. I would try the voice dial and it would never register my voice. Call after call would come in and I would answer without the caller being able to hear me. Seriously, the only way I could get it to finally work was to throw it at something...i.e., the ground, my dashboard, my windshield, the walls, etc...
I retired it and it has since been lost, possibly in the wash. I currently switch off between an invisio g5 (as small as the jabra with few issues) and a Samsung WEP470. Neither have A2DP and I must admit I miss that, but actual functionality is more important to me.
I was searching for a headset covering the needs for good sound, in ear technique (and I mean REAL in ear unlike the stuff that comes with the HD2) and the possibility to use some kind of remote control.
I found the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5vi, but am unsure to which amount they are working with my HD2...
Anyone got them?
If so: To which amount are they compatible?
IMHO, any 35mm headset + any phone with 35mm jack = any guy + any girl
Explanation:
the parts should fit together to produce something else.
How compatible the 2 are, totally depends on you: there ARE many people who can't hear the difference between a $10 headset vs a $300 headset...
Perhaps you can share what you mean by not be compatible?
Thx for the answer, but I didn't mean if I'll hear anything at all! ^^
(both have 4 conductors, so at least they should produce sound)
I wanted to know if the remote control will work for at least answering calls and hanging up without producing anything glitchy like powering the whole thing down or calling someone else.
As far as I've heard AUX and GND Conductors are changed in the Iphone plugs, so I don't know if anything strange will happen when using a headset made for the stupid Iphone with another smartphone.
yes it will be compatible.
altho i only got the metro fi 200vi. pretty damn sure the others will work.
great mic with button functions and superb audio quality. probably the best i've heard in many yrs.
one press to ans/end calls, or one press to play/pause music. double quick presses strange tho, dials last dialled number. but overall pretty damn nice IEMs for only S$95
Thx a lot!
I guess they didn't change the remote control from one vi model to another... at least I hope so!
The Double press thing is a pity, but not fatal... It's just a different function. ^^
since a few days I have the Bose Headset. The only remote is a button to pickup calls but the sound is really fantastic.
which model number of Bose Headset?

I've got the Super.fi 5vi, they work to answer calls, hang up and will even call the last called number. I've never tried to control manila's audio player with them, so not sure if that works.

The Samsung headphones that came with my tab do not work. They work a little if I pull the plug out part of the way but not when they are plugged in all the way. All other headphones work.
Are you sure you plugged them ALL THE WAY? If they're 100% in, the gold contact should be barely visible.
I thought they were in all the way but they weren't, had the same problem as you; you may need to push them a little
I think its the way the headphones are made. Ive had that issue, just gotta push a little harder than usual

same mine. more than that....i went back to the shop, and I was very surprised when the sales man, show me what I was supposed to do........try to push a little harder than usually ....
You guys were right, I was not pushing them in all the way. I feel like a dumb ass but thank you all!
same here.
at first i thought that the left headphone doesnt work.
later i used them again, pushed a bit harder and the left one works ;-)
same here but not with stock headphones. Replaced them for "ALTEC LANSING Muzx Core" model, didn't push enough and thought they didn't work. good quality price value better than stock
my stock ones worked fine, but the headphones from my n900 didnt work at all =( wierd they seem to have the same 3 contacts i guess there switch around or something..
The stock headset is a big problem for me, it kept on falling out. Maybe I just don't know how to use these headset, I've replaced the soft rubbery thing with a bigger set that came with the headset and still won't stay in my ears. I tried the headset from my iphone and it works as a headphone but the mic doesn't seem to work when making calls. The control seem to be able to pause/play music. The volume control on the apple headset doesn't seem to be able to control the volume though. I need better headsets.
This is the only issue that I had with the stock headphones. The jack is TOO SMALL! I'm having a hard time removing it every time I need to! I'm scared that if I pull it using the cord it'll rip apart.
So far I, and everyone who's played with my Tab have had the same issue with plugging in Headphones. You really have to jam them in there...

I think this is the build of Samsung stuff. I tried Apple headset one day. But the volume keys and the mic did not work. So is the answer button. Anyhow the out of the box headset is far more quality that the iPod ****. However I found out Addidas Schenheiser headset gives the best sound quality. It's like honey to the ears.
Apple headsets are flimsy easier broken yet expensive
I've broken my up-firing speaker and now it's very hard for me to call people. I wouldn't want to invest money to repair my phone since I'm trying to buy a new one (it becomes obsolete,so yea..), and I wanna know if it can be done something about it. Like, a script to use the down-fireing speaker for phonecalls or to crack my sound on the top speaker with some tweak, anything that devs know about, instead of using headphones (i can't pull everytime the headphones from my backpack just for a call).
UP!
