Just flashed serendipity, which I am loving so far, with only one issue: I cannot figure out how to remove home screens. It was really easy on the stock rom (i'm sure it still is, too) but I can't go menu>edit like I used to be able to.
If anyone could tell me how to do that whilst pointing out what a fool and n00b I am, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Install the ADWLauncher app. You'll be able to control it that way. Serendipity has ADWLauncher has the default launcher, and you can't change the settings for homescreens straight like that.
So wait a sec. You're telling me that serendipity already has adw, but I need to install it anyway? I thought serendipity used a gingerbread launcher, is that just a skin for adw?
Sent from my Samsung Captivate with Serendipity.
As far as I know, it is still using ADWLauncher... At least the application menu (the black vertical scroll page). It's worth a try I guess?
i am pretty sure that serendipity is running STOCK gingerbread launcher, and NOT ADW....there are no options to configure the stock gb launcher
use a different launcher if you want options
Okay, thanks.
Is that no options thing a gingerbread problem (i.e. Is it the same way on stock gingerbread.phones) or something to do with serendipity?
Sent from my Samsung Captivate with Serendipity.
Serendipity uses this launcher from the market
http://market.android.com/details?id=com.ebproductions.android.launcher
And as far as I know there is no way of removing the homescreens

Just because that's how they made it, doesn't mean it's not a problem.
Anyways, thanks guys. That's basically what I needed to know.

I just wanna know if possible use the samsung fascinate puzzle lock screen on samsung captivate with COG 2.3b3
Hmm... I am not a user of Captivate (but will be in 1 week) - about what you are talking about?
This any different than the capital lock screen??
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
here the original fascinate screen lock...i just wanna one like this for COG 2.3b3 compatible
That's just the normal TouchWiz lockscreen...
Sent from my Captivate
It is a bit different
the stock on is swipe to unlock, the fascinate has a puzzle piece always. to unlock, drag the unlock puzzle piece to the spot, prob also has a txt one, and a missed call one. so, no swipe- always a puzzle piece
I would love this!!!!
I know sonique in the vibrant forums has a theme which includes this and it works on cognition 2.4 and 2.4.1.
That said, I'd live to see a captivate version of this. I think it's much less annoying than glass.
Sent from my Captivate running Cognition 2.4
i like glass more - i can slide it unsing any finger from any side of device...
Would pulling the android.policy.jar and android.policy.odex files from a Fascinate ROM work for non-Deoxidized custom ROMS?
I love the Captivate lock screen wouldn't change it for nothing. Swipe any direction, unique.

Beng1******I know exactly what his asking, my suggestions was why if the stock lock screen in my opinion better. But who cares what I think? Right

go to your settings > display > make sure puzzle lock is checked. im running cognition 2.4.1, unless they removed it.
So i think one of my only gripes about the captivate right now is its inclusion of the twiz junk. I feel like the SMS app looks like it crawled out of a cartoon.
Ive searched around and am running axuras froyo right now, but does anyone know a way to get AOSP sms on the cap? Id rather not use handcent.
I dont care if its a theme or a rom. Whatever it takes.

replicate screen snapshot lock screen
love the theme just flashed it. However i have a question and im sorry if this is a really bad rookie question, but anyway. On your lock screen i see your clock and how you have the date in words rather than numbers. How do you enable that setting, i would love to have my lock screen identical to that in your screen shot. please let me know. And great work on the theme thanks

First of all, is this possiable? I have yet to find a difinitive answer.
If it is possiable, can someone point me in the right direction as far as getting started?
Basically I would like 7 home screens and a 5x5 grid. That's it. Not all the other nonsense with 3rd party launchers.

As far as I know it has not been done. Most people are going to tell you to use LP or ADWex.

more then likely someone will add an advanced launcher2 to their rom. kinda like the way TW added a modified touchwiz launcher in some of their roms. but as for now im using adw ex it works like a dream. if you dont want all the tweaks you can turn them off. its the best option while your waiting
I guess I'll just have to take the plunge and go with ADW.

It can be done. Paul @ Modaco made a mod for the GB stock launcher. Check Modaco gingerbread launcher in the market.
Since many Roms we use are based off I9000, then we can use themes and stuff from that phone right? I just flashed the latest perception and then flashed a steel blue theme for I9000 and so far no problems. Is there something that may end up complicating later on?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
None whatsoever except for sometimes you get non-haptic feedback on home key.
ok sweet. i would post some pics, but i guess i haven't posted enough.
this is the theme i got:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931937
BTW, is the any way to get portrait pictures on your home screen? right now i just use andwobble live wallpaper, and turn off the wobble. every other time the picture is always zoomed in way too much. only on i9000 roms, because i don't see this problem on cognition.
no vibration fix?

Here ya go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=903227
I know some people were requesting for the I9000 Honeycomb theme(s) to be ported over to Captivate. For those of you who were doing so, try flashing this theme with CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=958788. I am currently running FireFly 2.2, and haven't had any issues. The developer however did recommend deleting bootanimation.zip as it would sometimes cause a loop. I did so, then replaced it with a custom bootanimation. The screenshots in the original thread show LauncherPro being used. I however prefer ADW launcher, and it works flawlessly with the theme/ROM. Obviously its not exactly like the real Honeycomb, but it looks and feels awesome. Flash at your own risk. Take a look below.
EDIT: screenshots didnt work. see attached below...
Two more screens...
do u think it would work with cognition too? theyre based off the same rom rt?
I also flashed it to FF2.2. No issues. Looks nice!

I honestly could not tell you...I dont know much about the differences. I just flashed to stock, flashed FF, then flashed the theme on top. Had my fingers crossed the whole time....
Hopefully someone else here can indulge.
Found this:

Guess not. But I do remember seeing somewhere on these forums a Honeycomb theme based off of Rogers 2.2. If I find it I give you the link...

Yes you can as long as it is Cognition 3 you are talking about (any version of 3 so 3.1, 3.2, etc.). NANDROID before though in case it doesn't
What Calendar widget is that?
Good to hear its working. I will give this a shot. I was trying to cobble one together but its lacking polish since Im just replacing images and swapping XML files...lol.
I tried the other day but I think there had been too many theme flashes and something went wrong, so I had to go back to fresh sweet FF2.2
I like those oversized app icons, source? These are for ADW?

The icons are available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=828832
Just load to SD card, and set each icon as a 1x1 widget using Desktop Visualizer. Yes, I am using ADW but you can do this with practically any launcher. I have it set for 5 rows on my homescreen

The Calendar is Jorte Calendar, available on the Market. Just do a search for "Jorte" The widget I am using is the Black set with 50% transparency

Are you using a dock at all? What about accessing the app drawer?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
Also what app drawer icon is that (little android guy)?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
I have the ADW settings to be a 1 icon dock with no dock background (find this under dock/advanced in settings. Just a personal preference). The drawer icon is an icon in the ADW "Eyefold" theme available on the market. Hope this helps.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I dont get any force closes. What are using for DRM protection. Are you trying to play protected music? Or is it an app that removes DRM protection on protected music (like a Zune subscription)
