[Q] Working FM radio app? - HD2 Android Themes and Apps

Good afternoon all. I'm running Hyperdroid NAND on my hd2. Is tverr currently any way to get ly fm radio to work? Tried both google and marked, bit didnt find anything.

which hyperdroid are u using GBX or CM7? if CM7 then u and i were in the same boat. apparently hyperdroid CM7 1.0.1 lacks the FM radio and CM wallpapers so hear is what you do.
1. Always NAND & Titanium backup so u dont loose ur data.
2. install another CM7 rom that has it like typhoon's CM7 or MDJ
3. go into the system/apps folder, copy the applications u need (in this case FMRadio) and place it on your SDCard OR if you have andExplorer on ur PC, simply plug the phone in to ur PC, go into ur system/app folder and copy the application(s) to your PC desktop.
4. go back into recovery mode and wipe the data/cache
5.when you're finished - nand restore hyperdroid
6.After restoring everything, go to the location you copied the application to (whether to ur SD Card or your desktop) then copy and paste the application in systems/app folder (best done with root explorer on phone or android explorer on PC)
there - you should see the FM Radio application in the app drawer. did this and it works fine for me, hope it helps

You can use titanium backup, it puts the backed up programs in its sdcard folder.
Astro file manager can do it too..
so if I used Titanium Backup, I can backup to my sdcard on my phone, put that sdcard in my tablet and restore the app on my Gtab from the sdcard?
if that will work, I would be 1 happy gtab owner
A very easy way I've found it to use a combination of RootExplorer and Dropbox. Install Dropbox on both devices....heck and RootExplorer on both as well..
On the phone, use Root Explorer to browse to the .apk then long press it...select "Send" then select "Dropbox" and it uploads it to your Dropbox. On the Gtab, open up the dropbox and install the app.
Send is not in the list of options for my Root Explorer, I have the paid version of RE and just installed dropbox.
Hmm...trying to remember what I could have installed that added that option....I have it for about everything....
Could be blackmoon attachment saver free...

CM7 wipe/reset contacts etc

I just flashed cm7 after a full wipe. Now I put all programs that i wanted to keep on my SD card, but i did lose all contacts (i backed up so no prb). I intentionally did not install the gapps and was trying to only install the market apk so that i could install the gapps manually ensuring they will update later.
how should i handle this? i dont have titanium backup or something, does that work? because I DO want to execute a good full wipe, but obviously I want important data like, sms's; contacts etc to be saved and automatically imported after i flashed cm7
if i transfered a program, for example barcodescanner to SD-card via the manage menu from settings, is that enough to get it back after wiping/factory reset? so I just use the OI file explorer and install the apk... I assume all the apk's are findable, because I am now restoring, so I cannot check, but the whatsapp apk was there and installing worked.
when the above indeed works, does that automatically ensure market updates? or will the programs appear as not yet installed in the market? that will be nasty for some paid apps.
and once again. can I, after a full wipe and flashing cm7, install the market apk from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10527774&postcount=1993
and then just install the gapps from the market? i want that because i could never update google-apps
Hope someone can help me out with these questions, shouldnt be to hard i hope.
edit; I now see that the apk's are not there. I just tried installing whatsapp after flashing cm7 and the apk was there, but apparently that was just about the only program which had a apk in its folder.
one: a wipe deletes the apps on the sd card as well.. so you won't have apps from the old rom on a new one.... use titanium backup.. it DOES work..
two: gapps is better if you *flash* it with the rom.. and they sure get updated.. (if not then you could use rom manager and download the latest gapps update in a zip)
edit: you could even make an update.zip with titanium backup having all the necessary apps that way it would be easier and as you say - automatic..

Contacts are synced using Google cloud sync, built in Android. So is Gmail. So is Google calendar.
Everything else is erased, and kept nowhere. Moving apps to SD won't do a thing for you.
Use Titanium Backup for apps and their data, SMS Backup&restore for SMS, APN backup&restore for APN (if you had to enter one manually), Call backup & restore for call log.

[ZIP] Sick of losing all your installed apps/widgets when flashing a ROM? Look here!

I don't know about you, but I was sick of that.
I flash new ROMs a few times a day on my phone, losing my /data/app apps some times a day.
So I made a flashable zip that solves this problem.
This ZIP is ONLY for pushing apps into /data/app!
Right, there are a few things you need:
- The flashable zip, download it below
- Root Explorer
- WinZip
Do the following:
- Using Root Explorer, copy the apps installed in /data/app to /sdcard
- They will have names like com.***.***-1, leave them like that. DO NOT RENAME!
- Connect your phone through USB to your PC
- Copy the apps from /sdcard to your pc
- Unzip 'data_app_install.zip' and put the apps into /data/app
- Select '/META-INF' and '/data', rightclick, 'Add to archive'
- Choose .ZIP as type
- Let it zip
- Copy the new .ZIP file to your external SD
- Flash a new ROM
- Flash the new .ZIP file containing your /data/app apps
- Reboot and enjoy!

same same Works for me..
Does it keep also all the settings in the apps?
When the app settings are saved in the app itself, then yes.
When the app settings are saved somewhere else (meaning NOT in /data/app), then no.
Does that mean it should also be possible to exchange the data folder in a ROM zip and flash it directly with it?
When you know how to edit the updater-script so that it adds the /data folder to your phone aswell, then, yeah, it's possible.
I haven't found the mounting command for /data tho so I can't help you there.
my backup root
My backup root sukcs, it did not recover any settings for me. Titanium backup is nice, but it takes too long to get the apps one by one.
<3 this but is there any way how i could backup app data which are not saved in data/app?
Good zip for flash app direct in data, thanks

I can explain that one for you.. You came from a stock MRXX rom, flashed a CM7 nightlies and lost your backed up data.. Because MyBackup uses 1st sd partition on stock rom, and sd-ext/mnt on CM7.. Your backup is still there after flash, you just need to move it from sd to sd-ext..

If you not have a partitions for extend the internal memory you not can put the maps on sdcard why go in force close (already tried) why the maps not have a support for the sdcard but can only be installed on internal memory, instead the gmail i don't know because i not have tried, however there are 2 solutions:
1. Replace the default maps installed in the system with the upgrade (this is the best solution and i do always in this way).
2. Try to use the application Install Manager that force the moving of all apps on sdcard (also the apps that not support the moving on sdcard) but this app on my device (stock rom froyo 2.2.1) not see the upgrade of the apps of system but maybe on your device with the custom rom cyanogenmod 7 see the upgrade then try, if also in your rom not see the upgrade then the only way and the best is the first writted in up.

Then take a pro version where is the problem? if not put the upgrades in the system manually with one program as es file explorer or root explorer, is very easy trust of me, do a backup of apk of maps (upgrade) then uninstall the upgrade, then rename the backup in Maps.apk, then copy Maps.apk and go in system/app delete the maps preinstalled and then paste Maps.apk, then change the permissions in this mode:
[V][V][0]
[V][0][0]
[V][0][0]
After have changed the permissions exit and reboot the phone.

Wrong path to SD Card

Hello,
Something goes wrong at my ROM. I installed an app to fix the writepermission. It works, all things fine. But then I played with some apps to customize my ROM and suddenly an freeze and then an reboot. After this my es Explorer tells me "path not found". The sdcard symlink goes to /mnt/media_rw/sdcard1/. The other path to access the sdcard are /sdcard1/ /storage/sdcard1/
This works but not the symlink. I can also access the sdcard with Apps like Google+, picture Album or other. Only the Explorer won't work.
I try to change the /system/etc/permission/platform.xml but won't work. (I copied the stock file from the rom zip)
Can anyone help me to fix this? I don't want reflash the rom. I'm at Holiday and no wifi to update all the apps again. [emoji33]
Thanks
Greets Lars
Start your phone without sdcard, then put it back. See if this works. Try uninstalling the apps that messed your phone.
Nothing works. I make an Backup of my Apps and data and make an reinstall. Problem solved.
