Would it be possible to take the them from this and put it on Serendipity?
If so could someone give me the easiest way of doing this?
Edit: I know how to move over images and stuff. but i'm not quite sure how to edit xmls and any other stuff like .jar files.
i can probably port most of it over for ya. what serendipity are you running?
I'm running 6.2 right now. I'm pretty sure if you told me what you did I could probably figure out how to do it, and maintain it from version to version.
I would have used the theme porter but the theme i want is actually the leaked Gingerbread ROM from Samsung. So everything would have to be done manually.
so do you just want it took look like that theme? Because you could just use 7zip to transfer all the png's to the framework and twframework

That I know how to do but there are other things like the status bar and dropdown that are controlled by XML and .jar, and my knowledge doesn't go that far.
the status bar and dropdown are in both the tw and framework.res files bud. You're just talking about the icons and bottom bar and all that right???
is this something that you are trying to change? because all of that is in tw and framework.res

Not even close to what it's supposed to be.
i see. totally different. Give me a little bit and I'll see if i can just get it how you want it and then I'll send you the files

That would be great. If you come across something that is a little more in depth, make note of it so I can learn how to do it myself.
ya no problem man. I'm not running serendipity myself because i'm stuck on phoenix. but i'm going to just change a few things a little at a time to ensure no bootloops for ya and send them to you. just fill me in on how there working out when you get them.

I've got a revert to stock CWM zip ready to go.
hopefully this willl be what you were looking for. It's hard to know unless i'm actually running the rom. not in the mood for flashing today for once otherwise i would. try these out and let me know if they're what you want. use root explorer and drop the in system/framework
Not sure if i changed the notification text color. oh yeah! i didn't change the battery icons yet because the one from serendipity it totally different form the bezke theme but i'm working on it as i type this.
The dropdown still looks the same from when I tried.

alright bro. I think I've figured out why the words aren't in there. extremekilla filled me in. mikeymike took the text from the pulldown icons out of the twframework. the text is located in the resources.arsc file. I'm working on getting them put back in for ya. should only take a little bit.

See thats what kinda stuff I was talking about not being able to do. I know that you have to decompile the APK to get to the XMLs in resourses.arsc and then recompile it.
exactly. but im thinking if one of his previous roms had the text that maybe it could be as easy as just switching the two. im confirming that right now with someone who knows all about this.

I was just wondering if any themer out there could make a simple black bar for eclairOG v1.11(preferrably somewhat glossy) with a round battery icon (used in MAT-Theme, I believe its made by kspec?)
A lot of people have been asking for a black bar in the thread so I figured id try to get a themer's attention. Thank you!
To make things easier for the theme devs heres the link to the ROM
EclairOG:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=620673
and this is the theme that contains the notification bar and battery icon, id like. Thanks!

heres a screenshot of it:
OOhhh yes...Desperatly waiting for this
i am too, I really want it. i have really basic knowledge about theming, ive been trying to get it done myself, but all i get are bootloops...lol
I really hope someone does this haha. or a full sense/hero theme for eclair

Id be happy enough with just the black bar. I managed to modify the framework-res.apk a lil bit but all it flashed was the battery, pulldown menu and the lil network icons, but the bar still comes up white even though i used the black images from the MAT theme, eclair is so much different than donut when it comes to theming, im not asking for much, just the black bar so hopefully someone will do it, because a ton of people are asking for it on the ROMs thread.

In my opinion, i bet bbuchacher will be the first to port one to his eclair ROM, since he did so with his Super D roms

I haven't tested it. I really don't feel like spending the 30 minutes or so to set my unused G1(s) up to test it out, so nandroid before trying it.
It has the pull down, notification bar icons, and status bar from the MAT theme (all credit to the creators of the images used).
http://android-theme-minus.googlecode.com/files/simple_black_bar.zip
There are the images I used for it along with the steps I used for colorChangev3.jar based on what the images looked like.
You have to change statusbar_background.png to statusbar_background.9.png for the status bar to show up black.

you sir, are EPIC! thank you so much for taking the time to make this! I flashed it, only the text turns white, but i found out why. In 2.1 roms, the system icons are no longer located in drawable. theyve been moved to drawable-mdpi. so i think if i move your images to mdpi itll work. ah, i didnt realize that statusbar_background had to be converted to a 9.png. Thanks this has been a great learning experience for me. Ive been fumbling around with the files and images all day and all of last night trying to get it to work. I think i can fix it myself. when I do finish, ill post it here and credit you and the original themer for MAT. Thank you very very much!

[BlackBar Mod - eclairOG1.0-1.2]
I DO NOT take any credit for this.
The notification bar is from MAT Theme made by matata86
and was ported over to eclairOG by david1171
UPDATED!!!! - I found some files that were in the wrong folder, and 3 images that were missing. I moved and restored the proper files into the right places. GTalk no longer force closes, no slowdown, nothing. Everything should run fine now!
Screenshots:
Installation:
-Make sure you have no widgets on any of your home screens before flashing
-Boot into Recovery and flash normally as you would any other theme
-No Need to Wipe anything (If you really really wanna be safe, wipe dalvik, but you shouldnt need to)
DOWNLOAD HERE!!!
Oh, and i might make a couple more versions and use battery icons from other themes on xda. Thanks again david1171 for porting the black bar to eclairOG!
Nice work.
love that battery icon...
Just flashed it and running good so far
EDIT: Got the feeling, that it slows down the phone a bit...

no its just the normal semi transparent gradient black background, but because theres a black wallpaper behind it, it looks almost invisible.

Oh well, I was going to PM you for it. I think I know how to make it transparent, but I think the application needs to be resigned after replacing PNGs coz it didn't install. I tried signing made easy, but couldn't figure out how to make update-script.

yeah it needs to be resigned. I use stericsons autosign.bat file.
Check out the zip file i attached and look in META-INF < com < google < android < update-script and open it with Wordpad and you should get an idea of those work. theyre very simple. im not at my comp right now so i cant explain much about them right now.
and to anyone having problems with the black bar, ill see if i can find anything wrong with it and fix it.

This is a super quick (and dirty) port of the rEVOlution theme by manup.
Its not complete but most of the important parts are in it
if people are interested then ill try and add more
if i shouldnt put this up then pull it
Again i didnt make this just ported it to mdpi and put it in a metamorph so anyone can use it

This is great, but there are a couple of things that are still way to big (lockscreen, check boxes and radio button e.t.c). If someone can point me to where I can get the images sizes for MDPI I am happy to resize them, I just don't know what size they are supposed to be :S

and could you post a screenshot so we know what has been changed... like the 3G and signal icons? Mine didn't change to the look like the ones in the thread you posted.
He wrote that uploaded theme is wrong and upload the MDPI late on. For those who don't know the size of MDPI .png you can view them from your original MDPI folder in framework-res.apk
I can help with resize too
I have been watching this thread for a while to see if it would be updated, but no luck...if anyone has any luck porting or getting the proper size icons and whatnot, I would be very interested in the theme...

Use the LCD density changer app, I'd upload but I can't right now. If you set it to 120 everything will look better. Try that.
many of u have seen the screen shots and u kno it works. the key factor is that this theme ( personal experience here ) works best on a 2.2 ( froyo ) rom.
yes some things are still out of wack.. but the status bar and notifications flow almost perfectly, the rest can be changed by the user anyways.
Maybe what I am trying to do hasn't been attempted before but I'm stuck and hopefully, someone here is talented enough to help.
I am trying to change the background color of the LauncherProPlus widgets. It is clearly not an image in the res folder and I have been scouring the XML's to see what is driving the color to no avail. Does anyone know where I might have missed or where else to look? I'm thinking maybe I need to start looking through the smali files but would love if someone could provide a little direction.
Thanks.

I am familiar with Benny879 as well as that thread and he hasn't been able to find what controls the background either. He posted that theme on the LauncherPro forums and I installed it optimistic that the background would be black but it is not the case. The image on his sight is a bit deceiving due to the background color but is actually a gray gradient.
So, I'm still searching...

Yup, that's it. Make sure you decompile with Brut's apktool.
Awesome! Thanks to both of you. I had started to go through the smali files last night after having tried every remotely relevant XML.
I'll give it a shot this morning and post back my results. I haven't used Brut's APKTool but use APKManager which I believe is simply a script that utilizes the APKTool.
Actually, I take it back. It appears Signals23 has already accomplished and made available everything I was trying to do which was to make the background black.
So, I'll simply say thank you again, install his masterpiece, and pretend I'm the man.

In my last theme of the LP0.7.7.2, I added a png to the background, that way you have control over the whole thing. If you want to mess with that, let me know and I'll post instructions.

Hey, can someone talented please port this beautiful theme?
I already tried doing this, it is not impossible, but very cumbersome. It has been made for the Theme chooser app and hence all the files are named a little differently. So all you have to do is rename a few hundered files exactly as they are in the existing framework.
I was going to do it and release it and rejoice, but all that went to **** when I saw how much work I will have to do...lol (I know I am a lazy ass!)
I will be looking forward to whoever is able to do this.

That's really all that I want, I don't really care about an entire theme.
Is there an easy way to get notifications like these, or is there a theme that is already like this that I can flash?
Thanks!
I'm working on one for you, been awhile since I've done this though so no promises.

Have you checked out the UOT Kitchen over in the Android themes section of there forums? You can do alot of different things. Search for UOT Kitchen. I would enter the link, but I'm on my phone.
Edit: Here is the link for the UOT Kitchen : Uot
Go to that link, click Kitchen, Pick the choices of what you would like modded, when you are finished, click the File Upload tab, where it says Select your rom from the kitchen list choose system files. Enter you framework and system.ui where it asks you to. When your done go to summary, and and choose Submit files to kitchen and go to files pickup area. Anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour and your flashable zip will pop up. Put on your sd card and flash. It sounds complicated, but after you do it once or twice its really cool.
Hopefully that helps a little. If not, sorry I wasted your time. Have a good night.

~~EDIT~~ I'm having a lot of trouble finding the correct file to replace. As I said its been months and file names seem to have changed. I have one more idea and after that I'm tapped out.
~~EDIT 2~~
Ya man, can't find the right file. Sorry. If you can get someone to tell you what file in systemui.apk needs to be replaced I can tell you how.

Are you referring to the notification bar where the clock and battery icons are? If so, its the statusbar_background.png in the Systemui.apk

If your referring to the notifications in the statusbar you can theme it easily with ZipThemer
Create a folder structure like so
Mms>res>drawable-hdpi
In the drawable-hdpi folder put the icons you want. The names ( I thik) are stat_notify_sms and stat_notify_mms. A good size is 38x38 pixels
Then go back to the main Mms folder and create a ZipThemer xml with the path set to Mms.apk
Edit: I made a ZipThemer xml and file structure for you. Just extract the zip, goto Mms> res> drawable-hdpi and put those two images in there then apply with ZipThemer
Remember if you use ZipThemer for the first time, goto the apps settings and select update edify
Here's the zip I made

Holy shiet, didn't expect people to actually reply with useful feedback! Thanks to everyone who took time to do so.
What I'm talking about are the notifications you see once you pull the notification bar down.
I will try everything that was recommended and give everyone a proper reply by the end of this week, promise. I just have to do a ton of **** these next few days for my midterms, but the weekend is almost here, so don't fret!
Once again, thank you for all your suggestions!

Hey everyone,
first off, my apologies for replying so late. I've been busy with some ****, but finally got around to flashing the Theme I made in the UOT Kitchen.
It's looking pretty damn good to me. I was able to make the notifications black, and changed the notification bar itself a bit as well. I'm very pleased with the look so far, but as was stated in this thread, the whole process was extremely easy. Maybe the hardest part was waiting for the damn thing to be ready for download...lol
I'd post some screenshots of the notification bar, but with ShootMe not working anymore and since the Screenshot system that's built into CM exits out of the notification bar whenever I want to use it, I won't be able to provide you guys with any for now.
If anyone wants to try out the theme, I've attempted to attach it to this post.
Thank you all for your help!
There is a slight delay from the time you tap screenshot to the time it actually takes it.
